Thank you all for your good wishes! My husband and I had an amazing weekend in Paris and a truly wonderful visit to Hermes, twice! I apologize in advance for the long post.
So I did not get the appointment through the lottery. I had connected with a wonderful SA and they were able to arrange this appointment for me. We’re visiting Paris to celebrate our anniversary, and they even prepared a beautiful bouquet of flowers for us today at my appointment! Really thoughtful and sweet.
To start from the beginning, we arrived Saturday morning and went to FSH when they opened. I had texted last week with my jewelry SA who I met during my last trip about some pieces I was interested in. They didn’t have most of the items I asked about, but she was able to select a few other pieces for me and reserve them for my visit. After trying on several pieces, I ended up getting the finesse diamond earrings and the half pave collier de Chien.
I then told her I was also interested in some RTW. So she hooked me up with her friend in RTW and we went over together. He asked me what I was interested in and I waited about 10 min or so and he came back with a rack of like 15 items! There was one piece in particular that just came from the runway that my jewelry SA and I both said “wow” when we saw it. It’s a bold statement top and really fun. I tried on a bunch of stuff, and the RTW SA came back with more items and accessories. It was a lot of fun, and I felt like I was in one of those movie montages where they try on multiple outfits! At one point, all 4 of us were in the changing room trying to get a belt on properly! I ended up getting a cream cashmere coat with beautiful chain d’ancre details (and omg sooo soft) and the bold top. They also held a couple items for me because I couldn’t decide. Unlike some of my previous experiences at my local store, there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything and it was very relaxed and fun, how shopping should be!
I already knew I had the appointment for Monday by this time, and they knew it as well. The RTW SA apparently also works leather so he was telling me they’re not getting a lot of mini Kelly’s and the special birkin I wanted was still in production because it’s new. (Maybe it’s one of those out of stock “for me” kind of answers.) But he was great and gave me his card and said I could contact him if there are items I like not available in the US.
So this morning we arrived at opening when my appointment was, and the floor manager remembered me and said yes you’re visiting for your anniversary! She was very warm and friendly. She brought us upstairs and introduced us to the leather SA, and we went into a small room to chat. Of course he asked me what I was looking for. I told him I am still building my collection and I’m looking for something timeless and something more formal, since I have a gold K28 retourne and C24 MS. I said I would like a B25/30 in sellier with GHW. I gave him a few colors but I said I love the contrast stitching on my gold Kelly and I like etoupe because of the contrast stitching as well. I could tell he was really listening to what I was saying. He said ok, left, and came back after about 15 min with 2 boxes!
He had a B30 sellier etoupe in epsom with GHW, and a bonus mini jypsiere in beton with GHW! The mini jypsiere was a complete surprise because I did not mention any non quota bags during our chat. The Birkin is everything I asked for and I love it! He gave me his card and said I could contact him before our next visit (which is in August.)
After they took the bags to get wrapped, I went to look at the couple pieces of RTW that were on hold, and decided on a twillaine sweater. I then talked to the housewares SA about some table top items and St Louis glasses.
Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. I didn’t encounter any snobbish or dismissive SAs at all. Overall a magical visit to Hermes!
