I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

It’s very likely that the capacity to accommodate appointments are limited due to social distancing so that would have reduced the number of appointments they can take at any given time . They may have also reduced the appointments based on the supply of bags. There could be many other reasons including more local shoppers trying to get bags for themselves. It has been extremes as far as shopping, some people have held back and others have gone all out.

I doubt that to be honest, I would rather say that it is the matter of reduced production or/and distribution of products to different parts of the world, but not to Paris. I had a wishlist with several SLG´s which I was not able to find in any of the shops. These are not quota bags, but still none of them was available!

I can speak for myself, but this whole appointment thing is slowly getting to my nerves, especially after last week. I decided to take a one day trip with my SIL and nephew to try our luck at FSH, because the day after would have been my birthday. Prior to that, we had all tried to apply for an appointment but got all rejected.

We walked in, stood in line and waited to speak to the hostess. The boutique wasn't crowded, perhaps there were a couple of people at the leather goods dept. but there were definitely free SA's. In front of us there was a French lady, she told the hostess she had no appointment and had tried to apply for appointments but got constantly declined. The hostess told her in French that she would accomodate her request and call an SA for her right away.. after the lady was served, I told the hostess that the day after would have been my birthday and that I had tried several times to book an appointment with no success... she checked wether I had really applied and if it was my first time at FSH. She typed something in her phone and promptly said she had no SA's available and that I should keep trying until I manage to get an appointment, I thanked her and left pretty upset and angry at the same time.

What really drives me insane, is that people like us who truly love and collect get most of the time rejected and then I see people on platforms like VC, who resell the bags they got sold in 2021 and I'm like what the hell... my husband said, look if from a positive perspective, you've saved money *hahah*

calling all Parisian members for updates... any response appreciated.
I managed to have an appointment at FSH last Saturday (after 15 attempts...). The shop was fully packed.
I was offered a bag, which I declined (etoupe is not my color). The SA gave me a second appointment this week, as she understood I know precisely what I am looking for.
At that second appointment they had absolutely nothing more to show me. There were much less customers, but surely tourists as I heard much English spoken around me.

lucky you for beeing in Paris now!
Which Etoupe bag SA offered you?

With COVID cases going up and harsh winter conditions in some parts of the world, I can't see the traffic at FSH back at the normal level as 2019 so how could it be so difficult to get an appointment on line? I would imagine over 70% of the daily traffic are from tourists. There is a lockup in the UK and 14 day quarantine requirement in home country if one has traveled to France. Are they making it more difficult that it seems?

I scored my orange B35 in 2014 at FSH without any prior purchase history - so yes!
