@jmc3007, Thank you for your congratulations. I'm glad you also had an exciting and interesting excursion to H. I really enjoyed your post.

I have a question about your post and a comment about people in Paris. First, you wrote that, " This year is bracelets that are on their way of being discontinued." Do you mind sharing what bracelets you were pursuing that were about to be discontinued? PM if you like.

Second, having never been to Paris before (my trip was a post-retirement "trip of a lifetime"), I was amazed to see the all the young people, people in their 20s, 30s, etc. that seem to be drawn to the museums and Paris life generally. I know the Smithsonian in Washington DC gets young visitors but Paris was pretty much mobbed. (Geez, I should have gone decades soon than I did: what did I miss?).

What was especially curious was that the only Kellys and Birkins I saw were being carried by customers in the mothership. I didn't see any being carried in the street. I noticed women wearing high heels who typically were wearing really stylish, striking clothes. Maybe I overlooked their bags? Also, I didn't see anyone wearing Hermes scarves. (One of the pleasures of visiting New York is seeing H bags being carried and scarves being worn). Is there an explanation for this?

Yes museums have always been a big draw young and old, France especially offers free/reduced tariffs to younger folks <26. Thr policy instills the habit from early on.This year my highlight was Vuitton Fondation, aka private museum created by the LVMH family. The exhibition was the Courtald collection on loan from London. Brilliant show I have to admit, money done right lol.

Back to Hermes, the collection I referenced to is Kyoto Tresse that shows off their leather braiding. https://www.hermes.com/fr/fr/product/bracelet-kyoto-tresse-H070958FPAAT2/. As for B/K sightings, tbh within the store during my visit, I hardly saw anyone carrying one, it wasn’t terribly busy so foot traffic was light. As for wild sightings in Paris, I don’t recall seeing much either. But then again, I tend to be around the off beaten path areas. I visit my friend who lives in Paris, the 4th/11th areas such as Marais or Bastille which are not exactly dripping with wealth (still expensive but in different ways). Around Ave Montaigne for sure I might have seen more, but I didn’t frequent the area. Only stop I made was the Celine showroom,

Here you go, Guilloche buckle with hammered effect, it comes and goes on the H site, didn’t see it now. I’m a bit of a font geek hence this shape speaks to me than the usual typography.
How on earth did you get a buckle from 1995 from H? Nobody told you it was "old"? (That's the response I got when asking about something from 10 or 15 years ago). Did H track the buckle down for you, knowing you were coming to the mothership? That's amazing to get it, and it's obviously a collectors item due to the finish which is so different. I personally like hammered pieces, it's an interesting finish.

On our trip we scoped out what museums we should devote more time to "next time." Finding destinations or exhibit rooms was not easy but now we have the lay of the land, so to speak. Any expedition for particular exhibit rooms got truncated by the need for refreshments. Everywhere the food and beverages were tasty and often attractively displayed. This consistency was amazing.

Somebody mentioned sore feet? I wore chunky shoes with a moderate heel the first day we prowled around the Louvre. I think my feet must be too big to fit well on the steps so that I keep my balance. (I am quite sure Marie Antoinette had feet half the size of mine.). The circular staircases were a challenge, especially as steps become narrower. I have a bit of a problem with depth perception so I never was sure whether a line at the bottom of the staircase implied I had a couple more steps to take or that I had reached the bottom.. The next day I wore some sparkly sneakers which helped my balance. I am not quite sure what sort of shoes to wear when encountering ancient uneven cobblestones. I actually fell down once on some cobblestones -- I was promptly very nicely helped up by a passer-by. It's not a question of fitness, I walked at least a mile from one destination to another easily.

The design was introduced in 95, not that it was vintage. They still have item as new from time to time, probably not online but in stores only.

Thank you to everyone for sharing your stories with me. I am so thrilled to share mine.

My husband and I (with our 3 kids in tow) were rejected for Monday appt at FSH and decided to shop at Sèvres mid afternoon with no expectation. The store was pretty quiet as I browsed the jewelry section to check out some rings and bracelets. I immediately hit it off with a sweet SA who showed me many pieces to help me work out what I like. After a good amount of time, I mentioned to her I hope to buy a bag on my trip. She told me to try putting my name in to see if they would still take me with leather department and sure enough it was too late in the day to apply for appt. The Hostess was so sweet as we talked about family and she wished me the best of luck. Another SA in department came over to chat and offer her opinion on jewelry and asked me what bag I was after. I told her: Kelly 25/28 or Birkin 30 gold, gris or noir and was happy with any hardware. After I was finished looking around, my SA held 2 rings for me, ordered another to be transferred in to try for the next day and suggested I come back to meet her tomorrow afternoon (she was away at another location in the morning). It was getting late and I decided to look at bracelets as well. She introduced me to a male SA. He was kind and very patient in showing me bracelets. I ended up choosing between a mini dog and CDC. In the time I was with him we really hit it off and I shared with him how much I love the brand because of the quality. I did briefly mention I was hoping to score my first classic bag on this trip. It was nice he was able to share with me his experience with working in retail space. We spent some time talking about different leathers and how in the end classic wins out for me. I bought the noir box with gold CDC bracelet. As I was checking out (store was closed), I continued chatting with him and his colleague asking them both about barenia faubourg leather and how it ages. They obviosly knew I loved gold color. His colleague then mentions to me he might have one. I just smiled and played it cool knowing the store was already closed. The entire time during my visit I never asked for the bag. I said thank you and told them I will come back tomorrow for jewelry.

After getting rejected second day at FSH, we decided to drag the kids back to Sèvres again. Our arrival time is 11am. After checking in, the hostess at the desk informed me there are 19 guests in front of me and would text in approx 2 hours. There were so many customers in the store it was so overwhelming I left and decided to come back. We then decide to try our luck at George V. As soon as I walk through the doors, a lady set me up immediately with a male SA. He sat down and asked me what bag I was looking for. He left for a bit and came back telling me sorry there is no stock available. I ask him if it's possible to see a couple rings. He says yes but that will not help me with the bag. I reassured him I am still interested and walked out with a silver ring. We decide to check out the sites and grab a quick lunch with our 3 kids. We quickly returned back to Sevres after receiving our text (2.5 hours after applying for appt). This time I walk in and was immediately greeted by my male SA from evening prior. I told him I was trying to check in and he said he was happy to serve me! He normally works in assessory department but was able to help me with my appt. I explained to him I still need to meet jewelry SA, find a Calvi, belt kit for my husband. He asked what I want to do first and I eagerly told him bag. I mention to him it's nice the store is not so crowded and that I was there in the morning and had to leave early. He said he was surprised he didn't see me. He pulled out different bag models to try. I felt he was trying to gauge if I was open to Kelly 32 retourne or a lighter color (beige). I said no. I really want to prioritize color gold, gris, noir before style but would be happy with any K25/K28/B30. He left for a short bit and asked us to head to a small back room with one large box! He presented me gold evercolor K28 retourne with rose azalee chevre lining with palladium hardware! I was so happy and overwhelmed. YES!!! We left the store couple shopping hours later still undecided about which ring but was able to purchase a Calvi holder, twilly for myself and belt kit for my husband. I was impressed how pleasant the entire experience was for us.

I really felt the store treated us with so much kindness despite the struggles of bringing in our three kids. When we walked in the second day I felt as though we was greeted by so many friendly faces at Sevres. Not sure if they knew we were there to buy a bag, jewelry, or just thought we were crazy to come back a second day with three kids! In the end, I don't think it's about what you buy but more about connecting with a SA, demonstrating genuine interested in the brand, and just hoping the right bag will be in inventory.

Hi all,

Do you know if the B/K quota is 1 every 6 month or 2 per year?

I am asking because I have bought a B in Paris last month, and I might have another travel plan to Paris coming up in the next couple of months. So if I can purchase another B/K, that would be 2 this year. Or do I need to maintain at least 6 months before they will allow me for my next purchase?

You need to have 6 months in between fit K/B
