I’ve been reading everyone’s stories lately, and also from some friends who visited Amsterdam and Paris recently, and I wanted to ask if the Evelyn is now becoming a “prespend” bag or it is just low stock. seems hard to get now too!
Hi Cheryl!
I just visited in Jun and don’t think Evelyn is a prespend bag. I didn’t request for it in Paris but saw a Chinese couple offered the bag at FSH. I was offered a TPM blue nuit with orange/blue canvas strap at Zurich but I didn’t take it.

I’ve also utilized the delivery service and see nothing dangerous about it. What part of the delivery are you suspicious of?
It could go wrong at any point. If orange bags can be snatched from customers right outside FSH, Kellys pickpocketed while strapped shut, then why not during delivery. Would one risk their purchases not arriving? Considering how hard it is to obtain an appt and get the bags or items of dreams. What recourse would there be? Just a tip to be aware.

my husband also didn’t feel comfortable letting them deliver my bag to our hotel. after your comment about bags unattended at MO i must thank him for carrying around my bag. he didn’t even want the white plain bag, very self confident that no one would snatch it. lol.

Hi Hillychristie!!
Thanks for your feedback. I’m not actually interested in the bag myself but was curious if it was now going down the prespend route. I was offered one at CDG only after i bought a few scarves (my friend was interested) but it’s a different ballgame there so I wouldn’t count it twds the normal boutique experience.

CDG you have to buy few items and then get offered a bag. Regardless of type of bag

Those different sizes of Birkins are samples, anybody can request to try them on during their appointment. It doesn't necessarily mean they will be offered a bag.
I know anyone can try on different sizes, however I said that she was offered a bag because I actually heard their conversation (in which she was offered a bag lol) and subsequently saw the client led to the back by the SA.

Yes...I’ve read in TPF that H at CDG seems to expect customers to purchase other non bag items before offering them any bag...

I’m sorry you didn’t manage to score your dream bag this trip. Better luck next time to us both! I am also leaving Paris tomorrow. Not sure when my next trip will be (my last one was 4 years ago but hopefully the next won’t be as long a gap hehe)

I visited the Sevres store today for the first time. The atmosphere was definitely calmer and offers a much more enjoyable shopping experience. I arrived at around 11am, when I was putting my name down for an appointment at the handbag section I saw a lady being shown 3 different Birkins (I think they were all B25 from a distance) so I knew they had stock but by the time of my appointment (around 2pm), I was advised that there was no B/K/C left.

I was not at all nervous this time as I learned to not be too hopeful after the unsuccessful appointments at FSH earlier this month and I didn’t leave the store feeling disappointed either but the only thing that bugged a little was the asian SA assigned to me at the handbag department. I was still in the middle of telling her what I was looking for and she already interrupted me and said “No sorry none. If you like I will check but I am sure there is no more”. She then left to “check” but when I turned to the direction she went, I saw her chatting with a couple other SAs behind the counter. I highly doubt she actually checked the stock and of course shortly after her chat she came back with the same big No. I then asked her to kindly check if she could find the scarves and SLGs reserved for me earlier while waiting for the appointment (by 2 other SAs from different departments), she replied that nothing came up when she checked my name at the start.

Funnily enough, I had to go upstairs to the scarf section myself to find out where my items were and the male SA who assisted me then was able to find the items simply by checking my name on his phone. It seems the female SA was very good at saying No and not much else..

Oh nooo! Sorry to hear about the bad experience for you. Better luck for the two of us next time! I went to sevres two days ago and I noticed they had a delivery coz the manager (i think) gave the deliveryman the thing to carry the load. But I knew I had no chance on those since they need to check the stock the whole morning. Chances are the people in the afternoon or day after would be able to score them.

The asian SA at sevres who served you does not sound nice at all. I wonder if anyone has the guts to actually point out to them that they saw them chatting with other SAs instead of going to the stock room to check? I wished I had done the same thing back in FSH. And said she smelled of cigarettes and I caught her chatting with another woman. That wasn’t nice at all. ‍♀️

Better luck next time to us!

That SA has that kind of reputation! I had my share with her and when I saw her I wanted to just leave. I knew stories behind her so I knew that was an unlucky attempt.

I think I know who this is. Very rude and talks to you while looking at her phone or out away from individual. Actually did mention this to the manager when I had a problem at Sevres back in March. Manager apologized profisely and even gave me compmimentary gifts because I had to bypass and went through Hermes main office as well as FSH because this particular SA at Sevres blatantly lied about my ready to pick up SO bag.

I'm sorry that your experience was unsuccessful toffeecrisp. Do you think looks have a lot to do with the offer process? Not sur if you or other OP mentioned hearing the SA ask the cashier their age? Is that also a factor do you think?

I think it was another OP who mentioned hearing the SA asked the cashier about their age. Though I don’t think it was necessary. From the posts i’ve read on this forum, the way you dress up plays a part but not sure to what extent. Just dress decently they said and no tennis shoes. I was wearing a leather jacket, grey sweater and black pants. I thought I looked decent. Not sure if my headscarf sparks racism though? You never know what goes through the minds of SAs. Haha.

I sometimes wonder if they prefer certain characteristics as they are assessing eveyone on appearance first. It is just a natural behaviour. I am petite only 5' tall so I worry all the time that I would probably miss out because they may think their bags wouldn't look good on me. I tell my DH that he would have to go because he is 6'4" and of course in my eyes, very handsome. Lol.
