Hello everyone, I’m back home now and ready to share my Paris adventure! Warning this will be a long post. DH and I were in Paris from August 30-September 2 as a part of our 10th Wedding Anniversary trip. We would have a total of 6 tries for appointments because Sunday they are closed and we leave very early Monday morning for Santorini.
We were leaving for Paris on Wednesday August 29th, based on the time difference, I tried for appointments (1 for me and 1 for DH) for August 30th before we left. We received our rejections before we arrived in Paris. Upon our arrival that morning, I again requested appointments for us both for the following day, August 31. In the meantime, we went to FSH any way because I had a few pairs of shoes on my list and I wanted to check for cancellations. The hostess told me there were no appointments available and to keep trying online. They also didn’t have any shoes I wanted in my size. I was a little disappointed but it was our first day and off we went to enjoy the city. That evening, we received confirmation for DH’s appointment at 1pm the next day, I again got rejected. Friday morning I submitted our final two appointment attempts and our day started very happily as we continued to enjoy the city and we both eagerly waited for the appointment at 1pm. The appointment time moved around a little bit at first and then suddenly went to 12:15 and said the SA was ready to see us. Luckily we were close by and quickly made our way to FSH. The store was busy, I really didn’t see anyone being offered any bags. We met with an SA who was nice but a little cold as well. She asked me what I was looking for and I told her B25/30 in Noir, Gold or some of the various grays. Togo leather preferably and no hardware preference. Second choice was B25 in Magnolia, other pinks or corals. I had my list typed out so I gave it to her. She was gone for quite awhile and DH kept making me laugh while we waited. I was feeling pretty confident but then she came back empty handed saying they have no stock, I was disappointed and discouraged but I thanked her and we left.
After lunch, DH insisted we go to Sevres and I’m so glad we did. What a beautiful store! We saw that there was a hostess in handbags taking walk in appointments (I had no idea you could do this). It was about 4:30pm at this point, I wasn’t very hopeful but DH encouraged me to put my name down. There were 14 people ahead of me, so again I was not hopeful. While waiting, I again asked for the shoes I was interested in and they had nothing in my size. We continued to wait and I didn’t see anyone being offered anything besides Garden Parties and Picotins. Finally about an hour later it was my turn, we met with one of the very friendly SAs we had been chatting with while we had been waiting. I gave her my printed list again and off she went. She came back fairly quickly saying they had no stock, but she gave me her card and told me to come back first thing the next morning and to ask for her. This was very promising and hopeful. We thanked her and said we would see her in the morning.
That evening, I received my confirmation for an appointment for Saturday at 3:10pm, DH got rejected as expected since he already got an appointment. With the possibility of two successful appointments the next day, I barely slept. We went to Sevres around 9am and sat to have coffee at a cafe near by. There was no one lined up in front of the store. At 9:30 one woman began to stand outside, so we went and stood behind her. By 10am there were probably 10 people behind me. We walked in, immediately found the SA from the day before. She kindly greeted us, remembered my list so she went to check. She again came back with nothing, said she even checked for Kelly’s in my desired colors but there wasn’t anything. I thanked her and we left.
At this point I truly had given up and was beginning to think this just wasn’t meant to be.

We left Sevres and went to do some sightseeing before the FSH appt. I really tried to stay happy and not let DH see me down. We were in Paris after all on the first leg of our dream trip. We went to FSH about 40 mins early. My appt time kept bouncing around from 3 to 3:25, to 3:05 back and forth. The store was very busy. I again tried for any of the shoes I wanted and still nothing in my size. DH found a seat in the handbag department and made himself comfortable. I was walking around like a crazy person obsessively refreshing the page on my phone. I just saw one woman being shown a lindy and one of the new style small square bags. She didn’t look pleased. Around 3:30, my appt time had moved to 3:55. I was standing near DH at this time and kept seeing women come in asking for appointments and the hostess kept kindly turning them away and telling them they need to try online for the following day. There were people standing around waiting everywhere. The hostess came to us and asked to see my confirmation email, she scanned my passport and told me there was one person ahead of me. As we continued to wait, I saw in the back area of handbags, a woman and possibly her daughter being shown a Noir B30 and a grey B30. I was literally screaming in my head, those are on my list!
Finally, a very lovely and sweet SA came up to us and immediately took us to the men’s department. She grabbed paper and pen and started to take notes. This time, I didn’t bring my list out. I verbally told her and she wrote everything down. We discussed colors she loves, that I asked for and it was really so nice but I was so nervous too! She reviewed the notes again and off she went. She was gone about ten minutes and I told myself to not get too upset if this doesn’t happen. I wouldn’t let this ruin Paris for us, especially since DH had been such a champ in supporting these shenanigans. Suddenly she was back with two boxes and a big smile on her face. She happily told us to follow her to the men’s dressing rooms. I quickly saw the smaller box was the fourbi bag insert. As she started to open the box she said, “I found something for you in a color I absolutely love and I hope you will love it too...it’s a B25” I was already so excited and then as she was taking it out of the dustbag, I saw the handles and my heart was going to burst. I had to refrain from jumping up and down but I sud joyfully thank her and hug her at the end.

Congrats! Indeed, your perseverance paid off. If you were “fortunate” enough to have gotten it on your first try, the spoils of victory wouldn’t have tasted so sweet. Kudos to you and your patient DH for making it to 10 years!

Big congrats! I definitely feel you. I remember when my SA took a B30 out of the box in the private room. I literally started jumping like a crazy woman. Enjoy this beauty in good health!
