Will check in to read your post ,always so detailed and good luck

As promised here’s my report. We arrived yesterday on the Eurostar, which wasn’t an easy trip because it’s been snowing a lot in Paris and many Eurostar trains have been cancelled. The hilarious thing was that I accidentally booked a hotel in southern France instead of in Paris (the two hotels has exactly the same name!) so when we arrived, we did not have anywhere to stay. After sorting out that mess and booked last minute at another hotel, we had dinner and sleep to prepare the next day. In total we spent close to £700 on this trip to Paris; so I hoped at least we will get something we wanted.

I have an appointment at FSH around 230pm, so we go there after lunch. My boyfriend and I have a bag-focused lunch again. Buying at Hermes always give me that on-the-edge feeling (Check my previous two reports for details). Compared to my previous visits, the store has become a lot calmer and I am slowly in favour of this new system (I used not to like it because it involves so much luck...). I observe that there are a lot of exotic leather bags on display at the windows. I carried my K28 croc in Miel with me, (see picture attached) and I do feel people treat me very differently. So ladies- if you have any exotic bags- by all means bring it because it will make a world of a difference.

We wait around for a bit before meeting the SA, giving him a list of 5 different bag preferences; B/K in various colours and small sizes; black being the main one preferred. He was gone for a long time (>20 minutes) before bringing us back a box of small size. Having been to Hermes sufficient amount of times now, I can vaguely gather the size of the bag to be 28/25 or less, from the box size. The store was quite busy so we couldn’t find a room, he had to find a quiet stand to reveal the bag to us out in the open.

He then reveal a K28 in Rouge Tomat in Epsom. (See pic).

He explained that due to the heavy snow yesterday, there was no delivery so none of the bag I wanted was available, which I trusted him. He tried his best to find one that is in small size and that K28 is the only one left. Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I want, in addition I feel that I already have this K28 in croc that I will use more, so although it was hard to do, I have to respectfully decline it. If you read my previous report, you will know I have learnt my lessons about buying something I don’t want just because it’s something from Hermes last year. (In short: it is a huge pain to exchange/refund/sell once bought). Therefore, although I feel quite uneasy about declining it and of course this bag could be on the dream list of many people, I respectfully declined it. I guess the SA had some respects for us and recognise that we are definitely not resellers; so he offered his contact details for next time we are in Paris.

The funniest thing is that when our conversation was almost done, there was people surrounding the stand waiting to talk to us. He was quite nervous that they wanted the K28 in rouge tomat so he had to quickly pack it away. But turn out they wanted to enquire about MY BAG! Hahaha. Needless to say I feel rather proud :). In addition, Hermes always deliver top notch customer service again; it’s slightly rainy outside and my croc bag will definitely die in the rain (if water gets on it, it’s GONE!), so the SA very helpfully gave me an Hermes bag raincoat for free!!! Just to cover my croc bag, even when I didn’t buy anything else. I would never have imagined he would be that nice; but of course I am very grateful for the gesture.

We also asked him if we can place in orders here at the FSH; however it is indeed a random allocation for bags, first come first serve; and he said they don’t do orders here unlike regional boutique. Just FYI in case you are interested in the same thing.

Overall, disapointing outcome but Hermes always have that way to keep me coming back for more ... like a bad boy you date that you always wanted to blame for the **** you have to go through being with him, but can’t :) At least we have an SA contact now, so hopefully we will have more luck next time.

Firstly - Annabel’s what a gorgeous bag ! I was eyeing a similar one at Ann’s Fabulous Finds ...but it’s now gone...
Anyway - as promised - my story and experience at FSH ... It was mine and our family’s first ever trip to Paris and it has always been a dream of mine to visit the magnificence that is Paris...but onto the important stuff...prior to arriving in Paris I sprained my little toe in Munich and I was limping around Paris while wearing the only thing thing that I could fit my swollen toe comfortably- and that was my husband’s Havaianas ! Not the chicest way to tour Paris - but what does one do ??
We arrived in Paris , Friday January 29th in the afternoon - I had already applied for an appointment the day before - but I was unsuccessful (which I hoped I would be as we were traveling on the 29th)... and promptly reapplied for the Saturday... and I was successful for a Saturday appointment promptly for 10.30 !!
The next day we woke up nice and early and made it down the street to fsh - it was surprising to see a long line of people waiting outside (at least 20 people)-My heart sank a little thinking they had changed back to the old system ...the doors opened and everyone made a dash for the upstairs...again - I got a little panicked thinking all the said bags would have been gone and my chance with it ...as ridiculous as this sounds- but when you are there - it’s hard not to get caught up in the moment ...we lined up to show our appointment emails/texts to a lovely lady who then assigned an SA to whoever was next ...and we met with a young and lovely blonde -she put us aside and asked what me what I was looking for - I was looking for a 35cm Birkin in orange or blue- preferably with gold hardware and a sturdy leather ...she went away for a loooooong time - and of course I thought that was a good sign - she came back and regretfully told me there was nothing with those specs in the store...she was so sweet and sincere - I did not at all doubt her honesty.
She gave me her card and asked me to come back and check with her while we were still in Paris - and then let me know I could email her before we visit Paris -she told me she received over 100 emails a day !
Even though I was disappointed- I did brush it off and said “it’s just a bag - but if it’s meant to be- it will be!” I feel that way about a lot of things in life- even Hermes leather goods ! I did observe that no one was walking out with big orange boxes - but I did see a pouting wife and an annoyed husband loudly protesting it was their last day...I completely understand their frustration ...the store was super crowded and busy and we spent the rest of the morning buying gifts for family and DH went shopping .
The following Tuesday (Monday was New Year’s Day) we went to the Sevres boutique to see if they had anything - what a lovely store ! When I enquired about looking at a bag - they luckily had appointments left for that afternoon - when it was my turn - (the SA was the first I had seen looking harried and clearly frustrated) - she made it clear from the first moment- “we have no more b/k/c”...but surprisingly I wasn’t disappointed...
on our way back to our hotel - we noticed FSH was still open - and we decided to see if our SA from my appointment with available - but no luck- it was super crowded ...so with another shrug of our shoulders we left .
While this was going on- my husband kept on getting rejected for an appointment. On Wednesday night my husband suggested - why not pop in and ask ? Our hotel was literally a minute away - and we were flying out Thursday afternoon ...so we popped in and for the first time it was very calm...lovely...we enquired at the desk and let them know I had an appointment the previous Saturday morning (showed them my email) and our SA suggested we pop in - was it possible to speak to someone ? Yes- of course madame !
We were asked to wait and we were approached by a lovely SA who took us to a back room and asked what we were looking for- we made some small talk - she remarked she’d visited our home town (we haven’t lived there in 15 years) and mentioned she had her purse snatched there (uh-oh!) ...and then we got down to business - She went away and gave me 3 options : a 35 Black Kelly (I have one) and 2 35 Birkins- one in cuivre and the other in a printed canvas ...she told me she could show me both - and showed me a picture of the printed canvas- it had chains on it- something I’m sure I would have preferred in a kelly ...I told her I’d Like to have a look at the cuivre first and if it’s possible to see the printed canvas if the cuivre didn’t work out ...so she then showed us to the leather room that was behind us - and proceeded to unpack the cuivre and explaining it’s palladium ...oh no ...I had my heart set on gold hardware-but I thought - let me see how I respond - and she took it carefully out of the box - wowza ! it ! The cuivre is a warm copper that is a cross between potiron and gold - I asked to try it - and it just ...looked and felt right- it is a much more casual bag than my rouge grenat GHW 35B- with a completely different feel and vibe- so with a huge grin I literally pounced on it and almost embraced everyone as we were leaving FSH - it was so nice to have everyone so happy for me (at least I thought they were - I was pretty euphoric !)
The leather is a new one called Novillo - it is a cross between swift and Togo ...it is so much lighter than my Togo 35B .
As we left fsh - we checked our emails and my husband received a confirmation for the following day at 1!! We went back to fsh the next day and told them we weren’t going to make it and to give the appointment to another (hopefully) lucky person !
I promise I will post some action shots soon- but our 40 foot container was delivered and I’m busy organizing the house - but I wanted to at least share my story with you all - as wonderful as the photos are - I think the stories are just as great - I have fervently been following your stories for a few months and cheered you on when one is touched by the H fairy and felt your heartache when you’ve left fsh without your dream bag - thank goodness for all you lovelies here on the forum ...thank you!

Wow - what a great story. Thank you for sharing. I definitely like your attitude especially when being unsuccessful the first few tries. Your persistence must've paid off. Novillo leather is so dreamy (I have one in B30 Noir), and haven't stopped carrying it since I got her a few weeks ago!

Many congrats! I’m very happy for you.

What a great story!! The right bags are always meant to find us. I’m really looking forward to seeing novillo leather in person and it sounds gorgeous with palladium hardware. I think cuivre would almost be too much in GHW. thanks for sharing with us and good luck unpacking. No more injuries!! [emoji16]

Thank you soo much for sharing guys @Annabel's and @WhyMrBabcock!

I really appreciate you taking the time and letting us be "the fly on the wall" to witness your experiences at FSH. I will also try to write a detailed account if I ever go there. I have learned so much from you ladies! You're such a great source of info!

Thank you all so much for your kind words- but it is undeniably an emotional experience waiting to obtain an appointment, waiting to see an SA , waiting and praying for a great outcome ...it is butterfly-in -your -stomach inducing tension...my mantra is : if it’s meant to be...it will be- sometimes we try so hard and things just aren’t working out- and then when we back off or let it go- things miraculously just fall into place- and probably better than you had ever imagined it...including bags !! I will never forget going to the Santiago store in Chile- and I couldn’t decide between 3 Birkins that I literally had to walk away as I was developing a migraine! And when we were living in São Paulo and being offered many Birkins- but I just couldn’t stomach the US $22k price tag... It is such a stressful experience.
Ultimately , I agree with the SA at Sevres, when I explained about the two Hermes bags that I have , point blank said to me : “you are very lucky” ...and I think that is so true - I am ...thank you for reading ahout my experience - if was a wonderful memento of Paris that I will treasure for many years - but being and experiencing it all with my healthy family
Is truly the prize ...photos to come soon - I promise!

I was so sad on your 1st appointment but I also immediately felt relieved by your attitude! Its very rare to read that the SA will you many options of what they have in store.... it seems more like "i offer you this xxxx and thats it, take it or leave it" or at least i haven't read much stories where SA gives you options up front to choose from, so lucky! Tells us if what you were wearing (shoes, handbags, clothing etc), do you think anything of that sort influenced your luck in getting a bag? CAnt wait to see the pics! xoxo

@WhyMrBabcock! congratulations, a what a great souvenir from your first trip to Paris. Your persistance had paid off, and I admire your positive attitude throughout the whole process. Cuivre is a lovely color, it blends in well with many colors, with a bit of pop. Such a happy color.
