I will leave this reminder as a sticky because tthis is often a thread that new members (or new Hermès lovers) post on - hopefully temporarily.

i had to laugh so hard every time you mentioned “you know what i mean”, because I LITERALLY KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

omg after reading this thread on the regular you think you can mentally prepare yourself for a rejection but when it happens it’s so depressing. and the wait between giving the SA your choices and waiting for them to return is so nerve wracking. again i know it’s just a purse but honestly it’s such an emotional roller coaster. lol. only those who have done the whole FSH experience can fully understand.

congrats on your beautiful birkin, the most stunning shade of red!!!

Haha yes I TOTALLY know what you both mean! [emoji23]

I know the feeling, been thru to that a lot of times and I feel guilty taking my husband for all that troubles since he’s not into luxury he thinks that I’m crazy [emoji51].. but he let me go by myself at times ..
Oh dear. Would there be some other things DH would prefer to do while you go to the store? Although my DH shops with our SA for his own things, he is super fast and there a limit to his shopping timer. He sometimes takes DS off elsewhere, then everyone enjoys Paris and we meet up for yummy meals.

This is my first post, this forum has been so educational for me! I'd like to thank everyone for sharing, and I'd also like to share my story from last year at FSH.

It was the time when one had to queue to get an appointment, and while I didn't experience any of the scuffles that have been described, I saw the line sitters with their stools and blankets at the front of the line. I was also offered to buy a place further in front as well, of course, which I declined.

I spent an hour or so in line before the shop opened, and I didn't manage to get an appointment. I was told to try Sevres or Georges V, which didn't work out for me either.

I went back again the next day. This time 2 hours before the doors opened. There were 20 people in front of me.
The doors opened, and everyone streamed in like sheep...
Again, I didn't get an appointment.
But. I was politely advised to return about 1 pm, in case, any slot freed up.
So I did and was given an appointment for 4pm.
I wasn't feeling too optimistic, so off I went to Chanel across the road, and bought myself a lovely classic flap in caviar leather to sate that bag shopping thirst

Anyway I returned again and was greeted by an SA in the leather dept upstairs. We made some small talk, and then she asked for my preferences, and I really wanted a K28 in neutral colours, or as second choice B30 also in neutrals. I prefer Ks as there's a strap, I find Birkins rather cumbersome when you need to fish out your phone.
So off she went to check stock, and was told there was nothing.

While I was expecting that reply, it still made my heart sink. I guess you guys know what I mean!

She told me to return the next day, she said she'd squeeze me in btwn her appointments and that she will try to find something for me.

Ever hopeful, I returned the next day at lunch time. She greeted me and again reconfirmed my preferences.
I waited for the painful 20 hours, ok I exaggerate, it was probably 20 min (but it felt like hours you know what I mean), while seeing others being presented with large orange boxes.
Again I steeled myself not to be too disappointed.

She returned...
with a large orange box.

I was thrilled. As she unboxed it, she was smiling, she said that while she couldn't find a bag in neutral colours, she thought I might like this one as it suited me.

It was a B30 Epsom in rouge casaque! It was beautiful. I love red, and the gold hardware accents really stand out against the bright shade of red.

After so many disappointments on a previous trip to Paris, I was elated!

So anyway, here's a photo of the beauty, and wish me luck on my upcoming trip to Paris...with a new appointment system again!

Congrats! love the gold hardwear on RC. I KNOW how you feel, Have been going to FHS twice.
I still want to go again this year lol

Congrats on your Birkin! It’s a beautiful color and hope you score again on your next trip!

Yeah I never thought I'd be like this, getting disappointed over what really is a material possession... I felt so bad about myself for being so "shallow"...

In Paris now, it's soooo cold!

*hugs* [emoji847] I would like to say that your perseverance is admirable! I think there’s a lot of elements involved... it feels like as if all of the H stars need to be aligned for the magic offer. From the SA that you get assigned to, to the ice breaking conversation, to the specifications of your requested bag, to stock availability, to your purchase history, to the willingness of the SA/SM to offer the bag...

I think having a purchase history in France would help a lot but of course there are also many success stories of scoring a bag without a purchase. I personally managed to get a rather special bag without an appointment and with zero purchase history (the H stars truly aligned for me and my kind H fairy made it happen that day [emoji1]).

Don’t give up hope and stay positive. it IS possible! *sprinkles H lucky dust*
Thank you for your kind words! I've had great luck in other places, mainly US, but just no H fairy dust in Paris or Europe. Glad to hear that you were lucky!!

It's ok. I think everyone feels that way. My DH was surprised at how timid I got in front of the SA, especially since I'm usually not a timid person! It's so nerve wracking!

Hi Guys, I just wanted to share my experience at FSH yesterday as I learnt so much from this thread. For fun I thought let’s try the new appointment system, I live around 3 hours away by train. On my 2nd try I got an appointment at 12.30pm. Bought my train ticket and off I went, arrived at FSH an hour before my appointment and went to let the hostess know that I’m here but will browse around. It was busy but not crazy, lots of wallets on display and even B/K/Cs for display only. I picked out a Bearn wallet in rose poupre and had it put aside. I didn’t see many orange boxes around so I thought maybe it’s not my lucky day and was thinking I’ll go to Chanel etc after to pick out something so it’s not a wasted trip. Half an hour later I got a text to say that an SA is ready to see me. When I saw her I immediately had a good feeling, she was smiley and friendly. We went upstairs to a quiet corner and she asked me what I am looking for. I said K25/28 in Black/Grey or neutral colours, a wallet and scarves. Then she surprised me by asking if I prefer K 25 or 28, sellier or retourne and GHW or PHW. It made me think they must have a lot of stock! She went off to look for my items, the longer she was away the better according to what I’ve read here so I timed her and she was away for 22 mins before she came back with 1 large box and 2 smaller boxes. In that time I saw many people being shown into the fitting rooms to look at Bags. We had to wait because there was no private room available! She showed me the wallet first and I said I love this colour. Then the other small box was a silk bag insert which I said I’ll take as well. I saw the label on the big box which says Birkin 25 Blue Nuit. My SA said unfortunately we don’t have any Ks right now but I hope you don’t hate Birkins! [emoji23][emoji23] I said Of course not!! We went into a private room and she showed me the bag and it’s very cute and a very nice sensible colour however it didn’t make my heart sing. I think she could see it in my face as she said actually we have B25 in Rose Poupre too but you didn’t ask for bright colour, would you like to see it?! I immediately said yes please and off she went to check and came back with the bag. So that’s how I ended up with B25 Rose P! I thanked her, We chose a twilly, I paid and left!

We chatted for a bit in between and I know that she looked up my purchase history as she asked me why I had 2 addresses. I said I used to live in London but moved after I got married. She also mentioned that she could see that I have bought a few things Online. I think having purchase history helped me and I felt like she genuinely wanted to give me a bag.
Also I have to say this new appointment system is amazing, very efficient. Good luck to everyone going to Paris!! View attachment 3899872
you are so lucky! its beautiful!!
