Not sure that I agree with this post entirely. While there are no guarantees in anything in life, there is more than a good chance that if you spend 6000 euros, they will allow you to pucrhcase one of the coveted bags. But you do need to ask after you've settled in the items that you are about the purchase. Speak from personal experience. My sister was purchasing home goods (not furniture) and other miscellaneous things like agendas, ties, etc. that added to a lot. She did keep asking for the Constance for me which materialize after being told that they hadn't seen one in months before she started her spending spree there. But my sister is super charming and walikely very courteous when she asked about it.

And goes without saying that it's definitely not cricket to not go through with the purchase on the other stuff once they show you the bag.

My rationale is that FSH is most likely to see anyone off the street with no purchase history a B or K so if someone spends 6000 euros, it would make no sense that it wouldn't count for something. Unlesss the person is obviously obnoxious which none of us TPF'ers would ever be!!!

I have a Constance that my sister got me in this color...LOVE this color so much so you got so lucky in getting this combo. Congrats and now you can enjoy Paris!!

Like i mentioned, spending money on non leather goods might help to boost your chance might boost your chance but i wouldn't say it would be more than a good chance.

It really depends on the SA you are working with and the rapport you have built with the SAs. Some SAs are just cold and hard to work with.

I had a close friend who spent 5000+ euros and was still declined of a B/K. Certain that she's not obnoxious demanding for a bag. That's why i wouldn't advise anyone to buy just to chalk up their purchase record thinking i've 50% higher chance than others to be offered a B/K. Certainly spending more can help to get you more interaction time with a SA to make ur case that you would really love a bag too. Purchases help in communicating to the SA that you are a fan of hermes things (not just a B/K) but that's as far as money can do for you unless it's a huge sum.

Perhaps the SA had a such wonderful time serving your sister that she decided to go to the extra mile to help her secure a bag. Also, perhaps the SA who was serving my friend could not find the bag with the specs she's looking for too. The possibilities are endless.

What i'm trying to say is that there are many reasons why one is offered a bag at the end of the day with or without prior purchases. And many things does not make sense in Hermes Paris unfortunately.

Ladies, thank you so much for your thoughts and advice. Appreciate you are trying to protect me from wasting money and getting my expectations high thinking I will be offered a bag . I agree with both of you - it really is a combination of luck on availability, being allocated to a SA that you gel with and I guess what is going on on that particularly day at the store and the city, the other shoppers etc. EUR 6000 is not a lot in the H world but hopefully with the right SA and the stars aligned it will just give me a boost :amuse:

I have never actually been to any of the H stores in Paris. I think the best thing to do is probably to go visit all 3 in Paris on my next visit to get a sense of each one.

Speaking of H furniture, I have actually seen the bag resellers selling H furniture products! I guess that is how they get the exotic leathers and horseshoe special orders.

I wonder if H is fully aware that there are a population of people out there making a great living from reselling their products...to me that is a big contradiction to what I personally think their brand stands for....

Unfortunately for me, hubby is not very supportive of buying H...or spending $ in general so I think it's not going to be possible for me to buy furniture without him noticing :p

yes. h world is like this
sometimes you must spend the same amount in non leather goods to have a bag and maybe in furniture for having a exotics one
all depends of your sa is allow per, month to sell a b or k or c

Wishing you the best orange luck when you are in Paris :)

I think they are aware that many are reaping a good profit by reselling - read an interview article before. Mr Dumas said something along the line that he knows that H prices could be higher as he's aware that the auction houses are selling them at two to three times of retail.

I love their furniture but they are reallyy expensive >.< I will probably get a divorce letter if i were to purchase one unless i have a winning lottery ticket to justify hahahahahha
