No, I was looking for a Constance with enamel HW in epsom. I think I was too specific...LOL

It is actually good to be specific. They appreciate that. It is better to know what you want.
I probably have turn down more bags than the ones I have taken. It gives the SA the impression of who you are, what's your taste like and over time your SA will give you suggestions which for me is a whole new level of shopping experience i.e. they are interested in you!!!

BUT this might only work for those who already have a small collection.

If you can afford to decline a bag that you are not 100% sure of, decline it.

Very true indeed mrs.posh but is good to do a little research first and find out if what you want is being offered that specific season. Color and leather wise, For example I was told this season b40 is only offered in Togo and Clemence unless you SO if you want it in other leather such as Epsom.
Can this be 100% true? I'm talking about the new bags produced and sold in Paris.
There might be some old stock in other boutiques

Are you asking me a question or is that a statement? I believe what they told to you was true. It makes sense.
And yes some store could have "push" stocks.

Didn't you declare it when you entered the US? If they just want you to pay I would pay and hope they don't take it further. If they are at all hinting at prosecuting you need to get a lawyer.

The fees could go to 100% because you didn't declare. And they could have confiscated the item if they found it in your luggage.

By the way, it's not just exotic leathers. French customs also sometimes reports jewelry or leather bags to US customs. It has happened to me but I had declared it so I was ok. They only charged me 3%.
Oddly enough the exotic leather tax rate is cheaper than regular leather. I can't understand why.

This is a great question and it can help tremendously!

Hello all, just wondering if any of you asked or seen stock for picotin in any Paris stores? Will be visiting soon and just wanted to get a good idea of how its like with the stock and line up. I know buying a B is hard, just wondering if I need to buy some accessories before I get offered to non B or K or C bags? Thanks!

I was there on Friday and saw a mother daughter duo who bought 2x 18 Picotins, Gold and a double tone, i think it was Rouse vif and Rose Egglantine. On a separate occasion, on the same day, I saw another customer being offered a 22 Picotin, but didn't see the color. I actually wanted the gold one and was saying to myself, if the girl says no to that one, I will ask to see it. But alas... I got a better one on Saturday anyway

I have asked. The are very popular because they are the most inexpensive bag. The 22cm is the most popular and difficult to find. And like all bags it's luck as to which colors they have. Getting the color that you want in a 22 is actually a bit challenging. If they have it they will sell it to you. I'm sure making another purchase doesn't hurt. You will have to wait in line at fsh. A friend recently made a few purchases at Sèvres then asked. She had two colors to choose from. Neither was what she had in mind but she chose one anyway and was happy. I have also seen them at duty free but you definitely have to buy something else first.

Wow I am so shocked that one now has to make a prior purchase to buy a Picotin! When I fell for my first, no one was interested in this style! The mind boggles!

I see they are displayed in US shops. Anyone can just buy one in the size 22 or other size...Probably more popular in Europe?

The 22s are difficult to find in the US too. My store only displays the 18 or 24. I don't think you necessarily have to buy something at fsh or Sèvres to get one. I just don't think it hurts. They don't have many to offer.
