PIss on 'em. I've gotten bored with Coach recently and am moving on to other designers. This just solidifies my decision. I am going to return my NWT items & um, get rid of gently used items and move the hell on. So sorry for you, OP, but don't let em get you down!

Thanks!
I am feeling so much better venting though...it does help.

I am going to return all my NWT items too!! & resell, YES! RESELL -now they have driven me to it, all my gently used item. Hell maybe I'll resell all my NWT items too & if it doesn't sell, I'll take it back to return it on Coach! so Ha! I'll show you how I can capitalize on your stupid purses. (you = Coach)

with the money that comes back, I'm going to dedicate it to finish my Balenciaga collection --
One of each color -- and I know they won't send me a 'you spend too much money with us, so we don't want you as a customer' letter.
Hell I'll just go get it tomorrow to brighten my day & the money I get back from Coach can pay part of the bill.:p

As for gifts, I'm just going to start buying gift cards -- surely relatives and freinds will soon realize how cheap I really am, but hell -- still better than wasting it on Coach!

I don't think the size of the items matters. If you're frequently buying more than one of a keychain or wallet (even in different colors), it's probably still viewed the same as buying multiples of a bag to Coach. There are resellers on ebay who seem to specialize in the small items. They may not make as much in dollars as someone who sells mainly bags, but the percentage in terms of profit/investment is likely to be higher.

Sorry this happened to you. It sounds like you were maybe flagged by your outlet and then your buying record was reviewed at corporate which resulted in the letter. I'd return as much as possible with receipt at that outlet, too. Let them take the loss in their books.

Do you ask for gift receipts? Lots of resellers want to include gift receipts in their auctions. Perhaps that might be a trigger, or raised eybebrows with an SA? Just trying to figure it out as there seems to be no rhyme or reason to most of these

I don't do it frequent though -- like I sd I don't go in that often, during the changing of the season or holidays -- sometimes bc I see the 20% coupon circulating -- the most frequent I have been was when my mom was here.

yea, I'm debating of letting them take the loss -- or do something they hate -- having another reseller! to ruin the brands 'reputation' or lack of

thanks :D
I probably am reading more into it than it is, I have the tendency to do so when I think over things.:s

You're upset and you're frustrated...and it's pretty much a very normal reaction. We're all angry for you.

If I were you, I'd call Coach CS tomorrow...and yes, they are open.

I'd demand to know if this "no multiple" policy is true and if so, how long has it been in practice. Depending on the answer, I'd pop off. Because this is not your fault...it falls squarely on the shoulders of those who finish your transaction, those that scan the products and take your money for them. If you're not supposed to buy in multiples, then whoever rang you up needed to tell you that, they needed to be responsible for curtailing that behavior when they see it. You cannot possibly adhere to rules you are unaware of. That's the bottom line. If anyone is at fault, it's the SA because she/he is intentionally breaking company policy. If anyone is going to be on the chopping block for this, it should be them--not you.

Coach is infamous for this sort of inconstancy. I will openly say that I believe the company to be 10% upfront and 90% behind the scenes...you can call me a conspiracy theorist if you'd like...but this story is yet another prime example of Coach failing to give the consumer all the information needed to feel comfortable shopping with them. In an effort to be unbiased, maybe Coach doesn't make this all clear so that they can catch resellers at work...but all these sneaky rules are poisoning the pool of "honest shoppers" who might like two of the same *whatever* just because they do. I'll fess up and say that today I bought two of the same key fobs because I love the design and if something happens to one--I have another. I'm not selling it, I'm not doing anything dishonest with it...I just love it that much.

I think Coach needs to hear from you. I think you can't take this written beating and walk away with your tail between your legs. If they're wrong, put it where it belongs...even if you never step foot near Coach again, if you just "take it" they won. You might be banned from buying, but you're not banned from speaking your mind...

Yes, I always ask for gift receipts bc that's what I'm doing getting gift items but not on ones that I'm using for myself.
If I don't, how will my coworker/freinds/relatives be able to exchange it if they don't like it?
b/c when they get it, it'll be months after -- and I don't want Coach to give them the current price of like $5, if they do decide they want to exchange it for something else.

i thought that's what gift receipts were for. am I wrong for asking?
sometimes I'll tell them which item I want gift receipt on which I don't need -- the SA would just say oh, I'll just print it all out for you.

Its not like I buy tons in one sitting, I accumulate it slowly, like if I am there getting a purse I see a certain key chain for $9.99 I'll grab 3 and that's probably just the deal I find for that visit.

That's why I'm so complexed as to why I would be flagged --
minus those times with my mom & relatives-- but those visit are so infrequent. I mean if I am a reseller wouldn't I be making multiple huge purchases every month ? I mean, I'm not even there every month or even every other month. If something is coming up then probably the month ahead I'll start shopping if I don't already have something. I mean last year I've only been there 8 times including the trip with mom and relatives. The purchases made without them were like only 5-6 items.

I'm so over it, I'm gonna call and say my piece and that'll be it.
Of course I'll keep you ladies updated on what happens :)

My sister and I live in completely different parts of the country and different last names so I am not saying that they are combining her purchases and mine, my reason for mentioning her is that she purchases at least 15 Coach bags a year just for herself and that doesn't count when she buys gifts (last Christmas alone she purchase two purses for her mother in law, 1 bag/1 wallet/1 accessory for each of her daughters and her three sisters (which includes me), her sister in laws, and for her colleagues she also purchases Coach items for).

I agree that it's human error first, computer error second.

OP, I would call Customer Service first and see what can be done or as others have suggested especially if you explain why, pay cash or purchase at other stores who sell Coach.

you misunderstand me, I haven't had time to read past these two replies, but what I meant is the reason you and your sister might have purchased a bunch but never received the letter is because if seperate last names and with the OPs post it made me think her mom shops under her name

my mom's purchases and returns are all under my name - b/c my mom only goes to the outlet when I take her so I usually take care of all the paperwork stuff for her when she shops.

and this confirms it, thank you. I am sorry that you
got the letter. I wonder if it is because it's a combination of the two of you but still then I don't know the full story so I really can't comment either way. I just noticed this. it's Saturday night andy friend is dragging me away I just got off work

will check back. hope for the best

To me you shouldn't have to put so much thought into shopping. Shopping should be fun not frustrating. If you see something you like you should be able to buy it in whatever colors or combinations you like. SA are always so quick to remind you about their convienient return policy, so returns shouldn't be an issue as long as your not abusing it. But thats not even what this is about, this is about sales and if they don't want you buying so much quit handing out those 20% coupons. And I see obvious resellers and I have never heard anyone say anything. They come in and its so obvious, it's strictly buisness. They're not admiring anything, they're just looking at the popular, easy to sell targets and the price tags. Coach can't try to have their cake and eat it too. I always knew that could track your purchase even though they try to play coy. Thats how they determing the PCE. None-the-less, in this economy their are companies who are struggling and going out to buisness right and left, they are really losing sight of what's going on today. You should call their customer service and write them. Maybe even send a copy of the letter to someone in the media, to show people that Coach apparently feels so comfortable with their numbers that they can pick and choose who shops with them. They really should be ashamed with themselves.

While we appreciate your enthusiasm for the Coach brand and your entrepreneurial spirit, we must advise you that no one is authorized by Coach to resell product purchased from our stores, websites or accounts.

So apparently you're not even allowed to sell a bag you no longer use. Are they going to try tracking down those people too and ban them for needing to downsize a collection?

This whole ban letter crap really pisses me off, I don't think that's the proper way to conduct business as a company.

I am so sorry the letter! I think it is preposterous that they would give this to you in front of everyone like that! I have a return to make tomorrow and now I am rethinking it! Do I keep a NWT bag that will not work for me? I am now conflicted and I again am so sorry that you have had to go through this humiliation!

I was just loooking up OP's previous posts, and on Feb.13th was a post on the ebay thread, about stolen pics and watermarks. Seems to me that maybe a "little" reselling is being done????? I didn't even know an ebay forum existed till I looked up op's posts. Does anyone know if Coach moniters ebay at all?

"I don't know about watermarking, I watermark my pictures dead center & my pictures are still stolen by other sellers. I do watermarking and scripted where it can't be copied either, it urks me! it urks me more when someone contacts me after the item has been sold by the person who used my pictures. I appreciate the notification but I wish it was sent before the auction ended b/c as much as i wish this person bought it from me, but I hate it more for a buyer to purchase the item thinking its authentic & probably ended up with a fake. Oh and my pictures shows up everywhere -- with my watermark front and center.
The nerves of some ppl. "

above quote from feb. ebay post

I had listed 2 Chanel bags and 2 Gucci bags --
which as many ladies know those authenticity markings on those purse are what distingulish it from fake and real.
and many that sell fakes would use those pictures to say their items are real.
& I have had those pictures reproduced where buyer asking why I am sharing pictures with another seller. The last thing I want is somoene getting swindled over $2K over something fake -- if you read the ebay forum there are many of those cases.
& wouldn't you be upset too? that you have an authentic item but someone stole your pictures and probably sold a fake?

I'm sorry TiffiniCelina if you feel like you want to be accusational.
I get alot more back from my used Euorpean designer bags then I would get from Coach --I drag my Coach through everything, its something I can bang around and change season to season without overspending nor feel horrible when I scratch it up. As an example, as much as I like pink bags, I'm not going to shell out close to $3k for a Euro designer bag just for the season -- where I can buy one at coach for less than $300 to use occassionally. I can leave it in my closet without ever feeling guilty.

I am sure you are aware that with used Euro Designers, I can get close to the full value I paid for them which allows me to switch out for another. If I sold used coach how much do you think I can get for used bags???? max. $100? if its only $100 don't you think its a better idea that I just keep it? Coach doesn't even retain its value - but they're fun bags to have and cheap!

so
so Sorry to dissappoint you!
If you're not going to be comforting I'm quite comfortable without you commenting.

I think TiffiniCelina was simply trying to investigate reasons beyond what you disclosed which would have lead you to a ban. Because, to be perfectly honest with you, everyone else who has been banned (and owned it) has been a reseller. I think she was merely trying to alleviate some of the "fear" some people are feeling right now...we want to avoid your pitfall--no offense--no one wants to be banned. This sub-forum is filled with people who love Coach and take it as seriously as you take your "Euro" brands. We're all just trying to help...
