Wow this got way off topic. IMO its sad the OP got the letter, but honestly we dont know all the details, so I am not going to start boycotting Coach because of it. Hopefully everything works out for her.

thank you for being one of those that is willing to see both sides. i admit, that i see some starting to go off the deep end so to speak, because this is not the first instance we have heard of these letters (the blog read btw was hilarious, how the OP was writing..and i thought I was dramatic!!)

however, and its like this with a lot of "stories" i hear on here..people tend to believe the OP completely until the other party shows up..or until certain people who are thinking more rationally see the holes in the story and have come to realize that maybe there is more to the story then the OP let on, or, the OP is not being truthful because, hey, its the internet, i can type anything!

this is not an attack on OP or anything, but i know i continue to reply despite my better judgement because i don't want to see this go completely one side..as the majority seem to be jumping ship, which is fine, but i always think threads function better when there are healthy debates and not a mob forming..

i do hope the OP will come back and bring this thread back on topic, or just let it die

I'm not proud of it, but I returned a bunch of stuff in January and February, actually I exchanged a bunch of stuff because I always picked up something new whenever I returned items. I got a little over-excited by all of the pretty bargains and had to edit my collection as a result. I've been asked to show my ID and give my information when making these exchanges, but other retailers ask for this info when making a return so providing it to Coach didn't bother me. I always exchanged NWT and with receipts, and none of the items were purchased with intent to resell. I'm just highly indecisive when surrounded by beautiful bargains :blushing:

I was buying an item at the outlet recently - only buying new, not returning or exchanging - and the SA couldn't find my info in the computer. He had to enter my info again. Keep in mind that I usually bring in my online coupon printed out rather than use the coupons they had out at the door in an attempt to remain on the coupon mailing list, and I was using the online coupon for this particular transaction. I was puzzled, but he shrugged it off saying that this happens sometimes. He keyed my info and rang up my sale. Not sure if there was more to that "your info isn't in the computer" than what he told me, but I've bought from both PP and Aurora since then with no problems.

I guess if I get a letter, I'll just shift my hobby money elsewhere. The weather's getting warmer and I've been considering a return to casual photography anyhoo :smile1: I wouldn't mind picking up a digital SLR!

I wouldn't worry. There are a lot of us in the same boat!! Darn those 20% coupons!:pAnd I agree w/Ms. Whitney...we don't know all the info involved when one gets a letter. The vast majority don't, so just enjoy your purchases!

I almost said bs until I reread and saw outlet :p

I don't know if Boutique and Outlet is on the same computer system or not. If it is the same, then I seriously doubt that Boutique does not have the capability to look up previous purchases by swiping the Credit Card. It was one of the manager at the outlet that look up my purchases with the Credit Card. Maybe only manager has that privilege at the outlet as well as the Boutique. I am not here to put a scare on anyone. Just wanted fellow TPFers to be aware that the possibility of tracking purchases by your Credit Card is probably available.

EXACTLY! lol....here I am already hoping another coupon is released tomorrow since Wednesday seems to be "email coupon day" lately. Thanks!

FWIW, *I* am not boycotting Coach because of the OPs story. In fact, my 'boycott' is due to SEVERAL reasons completely unrelated to this thread. This thread just made me really evaluate my feelings and decide that I can't support a company that does some of the things Coach does. Sorry if that offends anyone, but that's how I feel.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I have just gotten into Coach within the last few months and I can already see that it is a company this is really inconsistent with its policies and ways of handling things. There are so many contradictions within their brand and it is frustrating as a consumer. I do love many of their products but I can understand how someone who has been dealing with the brand for a while could have easily had enough already and want to take their business elsewhere.

I went to FP to return, I lost my receipt and I asked her if she can swipe my CC card to look up. The manager answered me : she can not do it, because Coach never keep record of CC info of customer.

So I knew at least in my FP store, this is flag ship store, couldn't look up. But my bag still in collection, so I just return and get store credit.
