It was $5300 in the US.What is the price? Thank you
Yes pretty much! I have a Josephine in Blush and Pauline in Gex, the Josephine has a smaller grain and is a little less soft to the touch than the Pauline (with a larger grain).Does someone know the difference between Taurillon Blush leather vs Taurillon Gex? Would you say it’s like Togo vs Clemence?
Agreed. And like Togo/Clemence the Blush leather feels “drier” than Gex.Yes pretty much! I have a Josephine in Blush and Pauline in Gex, the Josephine has a smaller grain and is a little less soft to the touch than the Pauline (with a larger grain).
I don’t think I’ve seen a Gaby with veining (vertically or horizontally) but maybe it’s just hard to see it on pictures, I’ve definitely seen it on Hermes handbags. It’s a very interesting observation, I wonder if they switched it to vertically.Agreed. And like Togo/Clemence the Blush leather feels “drier” than Gex.
Also I haven’t seen any recent Blush bags up close recently, but my early Gabys had the veining running horizontally instead of vertically like with H Togo.
Welcome Back!!!!!!!Hello all. Recently back from a longggg handbag hiatus! Thinking of picking up a Moynat backpack for the hubby. Is there a Moynat authentication thread here? Did a search but didn’t see one. The one I’m thinking about is on eBay and I’d definitely like another set of eyes on it. Thanks in advance!
I experienced a similar thing around this time last year. While this brand might be great for quality and looks, the customer service is quite shocking. I went from really enthusiastic about the product to not wanting to have anything to do with the brand after interacting with sales at their Paris Flagship store online. All I wanted to know was if there were other items not on the website but available in their store similar to the bag I was after, and if yes could they take some pictures so I can take a look? The salesperson initially said it was fine, and then a day later replied quite rudely that they did not have anything and basically did not read properly as to what I was asking. He even spelled the brand name wrong in the subject of the e-mail when he first contacted me.
From my side, this person works in the flagship store, if there are no other similar bags he could easily just inform me on the spot and say so. Instead, he was silent for an entire day and was simply rude and impatient when I asked him if he had a chance to let me know about my query.
I have interacted with just about all major fashion house brands, never been as offended by Moynat. If they cannot even handle a simple customer query or spell their company name right, I am not going to spend my hard-earned cash on this brand. My view is that luxury brands need to provide superior customer service and product to be able to make me willing to spend my money, especially since there are plenty of competition out there.
Ha, sounds like this was not an isolated experience! The men's offering from Moynat is also very limited and the bag I liked really is a bit impractical due to its small size. The funny thing is I just saw another bag (new from Berluti) that is bigger and fits with my overall appearance and style better. It is also more versatile in my opinion. My interaction with their sales team was fun and welcoming, so the difference in customer service is literally like night and day.I experienced a similar thing around this time last year.
I wanted to order a Rejane and salesperson who wrote to me said I had to pay the full amount before they can make it (they will send a link). I said sure, but I would also like to order a canvas strap that matches the Rejane: it was just a change of leather color on ends of the strap, to match the bag. She told me she will ask the atelier if it can be done (really? to change strips of leather?).
She never got back to me. It was silence from that point onwards.
I lost interest because of their lack of engagement in the sales process. I was going to spend close to 6000 euros on something that is not even Hermès, and I seemed to have been forgotten. 🤣
Which turned out fine by me. I just used the Rejane money to buy myself a trip to Paris and a VCA bracelet. So all good. But yeah, if she had gotten back to me that they could do it, they would've made a sale.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. The company is a bit of a mess right now. They have bigger issues to deal with.Ha, sounds like this was not an isolated experience! You see, to purchase from Moynat, I still have to deal with import tax and make sure I am home for delivery. Berluti has a physical store and I can just go in and buy it outright and I can physically examine the item as well. There are also other luxury brands with a physical store presence in my city (Sydney, Australia), so there are always lots of options.
From my side, it is strange that Moynat does not offer better customer service in our cases, these were not difficult questions/requests by any means.
Do you know why the mess? Also, is it true that the Rejane is getting discontinued or only available through SO?I wouldn't worry too much about it. The company is a bit of a mess right now. They have bigger issues to deal with.![]()
