I agree with @DoggieBags that Taurillion is probably your best bet. I am guessing you tried the Gabrielle clutch - that whole line is very structured, as is the Rejane. So even though the Rejane is offered in Taurillion leather, I would suggest looking at their less structured bags, like the Gaby (also offered in Taurillion). The Gaby really showcases the soft, pliable nature of Taurillion beautifully and might give you the look and feel you’re after. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the reply and recommendation. I will look into buying the Gaby instead.

I have 2 Gaby BBs and love them. The strap is adjustable and very practical worn crossbody. I‘ve brought a Gaby BB on my latest 2 international trips and have stored them inside a larger tote bag. Though the tote was full, the Gaby still retained its shape nicely despite the more slouchy leather. I don’t have any scratches after significant use. The snap buttons on the side create extra room if you need more space and the leather is thick, yet supple.

I’m anticipating Moynat’s 2024 vision. I’m excited to see where Moynat’s creative team takes their designs. Will the company look at their original successful designs to forge their future? Or, is their trajectory leaving the OG bags in the past? It’ll be interesting for sure.:graucho:
Me too. I heard Nicholas Knightly got kicked out, hence the resurgence of Ramesh Nair’s old designs (that were once rumored to be phased out soon when Knightly came in).

Oh interesting. I was wondering what had happened. It has been hard not to notice the Ramesh revival: the recent flood of colors of the once elusive Gabrielle clutch, the renewal (albeit limited) of the Gaby, the introduction of the Gabrielle Escapade and the canvas Gabrielle, plus the introduction of the nano sized Gabrielle…to name a few off the top of my head. It makes me hopeful that the brand might try to return to its simple and elegant roots, showcasing their fine craftsmanship and subtle branding that so many of us adored in the good old days. Fingers crossed.…

And hopefully with bags made in France.

Exactly. Like maybe they would concentrate on very few designs—Icons, as the website states—and then various iterations of them, in sizes and materials

Moynat following Hermès footsteps. There was the picnic Gabrielle, the barenia-toile Gabrielle, now So Black Gabrielle, but of course they don't call them that. It's called Ultra Black

I won't be surprised if they release a Shadow Gabrielle Clutch. Or a Shoulder Gabrielle. Or a Gabrielle Flat. Or a Gabrielle Doll. Or Contour, Verso, Flash, Dwitch, Éclat, Ghilles Gabrielle

Don't get me wrong. I love it. I prefer the no-fuss, complete closure of the Gabrielle over the Kelly, not to mention the tiresome H lottery/quota/wishlist/pre-spend games to get a Kelly.

(Good job though on Moynat for having an Hermès fan in their creative department)

Thanks for the heads up @allanrvj! I LOVE So Black from the depths of my soul and I am excited to see this.
When you finally get it, please let us know how it is up close. This is so exciting for me
Moynat has recently experience two changes that will affect their creative direction — Knightly’s departure and a strong new demographic — a demographic with $$$$$ that loves the Gabrielle clutch and the Gabrielle. I’m excited to see if Moynat’s creative direction embraces styles like these.

I think specific bags will be made in France, but thanks to LVMH taking over, most will be made in Italy (or Spain) in LV factories.

A friend schooled me about excellent (non-chipping) black hardware. How it’s made is amazing. I hope Moynat chose infused black hardware and didn’t go the way of old-school, YSL and cheapest-manufacturing-possible Chanel plated hardware. I’ll try to find out and post here if I get a reply.

I, too, love the blackout look.
