Saying hello after many months away...took a break from the forums and from purse shopping in general, but am dipping back into the waters now. I visited the Desert Hills/Cabazon outlets for the first time a few months ago, and stopped in at the BV. We had to wait in line as they only let 3 customers shop at a time (or 3 families) so an SA could help each group. I just asked if they had any Tomas Maier pieces left, and they said no. I wasn't surprised as he was two designers ago!

Hi everyone, hope you had a wonderful weekend  I wonder if there's a BV recommendation thread?
I'm looking to buy a BV bag that might fit my lifestyle, but am unsure of what might be right... candidates are: a Bella/Garda tote or a Pillow/Nodini!

About me:
-In her 20's
-Doesn't carry much stuff, but wants the essentials: phone, wallet, notebook, chapstick, etc
-Prefers lightweight bags and multi-functional bags to carry from day to night, formal to casual

Perhaps there might be a bag that's right for me that i haven't considered? :P looking forward to any of your lovely thoughts...thank you!

@miuccialover, hello!

We don’t have a recommendation thread but there is a lot of discussion about each bag. If you are interested in the Garda and Nodini, I’d do searches on ‘pillow’ and ‘Bella’ as those were the informal names for these bags for years.

Are you looking for new or used? The styles listed about are older although there is a new incarnation of each. Tell us about your style — sporty, classic, on trend, romantic etc.

In terms of the two specific bags, the nodini/pillow is terrific. Goes with everything, functional, light and will make that day to night transition. Wear is first seen on the corner edges and it’s usually some scuffing or finish loss. The little strap knots can also show wear.

The Garda/Bella is a good day bag. Dressy enough for the office. It’s a bit large for evening. The new incarnation of this bag—the Andiamo—is a bit dressier still and might make the transition easier.

The new BV is more on trend and feels crisper in a way. I have mostly older BV’s which seem more understated to me and I am realizing they don’t necessarily feel as modern (that’s just my opinion).

Hello everyone :) I have an advice to ask you! I want to add the Bottega Veneta Chain Cassette bag to my collection, and I’m leaning towards two colors, “Caramel” and “Maple” (which I know was a limited edition color but sometimes can be found through resellers). Which one do you think is best? I think Caramel is a beautiful color that doesn’t get old in the long run, also goes with many colors/outfits and it’s a classic, but at the same time Maple is such a gorgeous color. Which one would you recommend? Thank you :)

Hi, Grietje, thank you so much for your insightful advice  I've read your thread on the Sardine and I loved it, so what an honor it is to be replied to by you on this thread!

Currently, I'm looking for used bags - I've just started my career and can't jump into boutique prices yet! However, I think the Nodini might just be my bet. I'd love a tote type like the Garda or eventually the Cabat, but for now, with how little I carry around, I think I've made a decision.

I am loving the take of MB on BV, it feels a little more timeless than DL, and I will consider jumping on a small loop camera bag.

Thank you, thank you!

I have a small loop in color thunder I purchased in June 2022. Have worn it a handful of times. Love the bag. But one of the zippers popped off (the pull). It literally just fell to the floor without me doing anything. I’m able to pop back on and have tried to push down with tweezer the metal part it goes in but keeps popping out.

I’m a bit disappointed. I don’t have a BV store that close to me. Trying to decide how to rectify. I may bring into repair shop I use for luxury items and ask. Or call a bv store which I think is about an hour or more away from me. I don’t want to lose the actual zipper pull part.

The bottom one looks more beautiful to me. I'm a sucker for those reddish colors. But the top one is more neutral.
