I have a small loop in color thunder I purchased in June 2022. Have worn it a handful of times. Love the bag. But one of the zippers popped off (the pull). It literally just fell to the floor without me doing anything. I’m able to pop back on and have tried to push down with tweezer the metal part it goes in but keeps popping out.

I’m a bit disappointed. I don’t have a BV store that close to me. Trying to decide how to rectify. I may bring into repair shop I use for luxury items and ask. Or call a bv store which I think is about an hour or more away from me. I don’t want to lose the actual zipper pull part.
I definitely recommend calling the store where you bought it (was it a BV boutique?) and explaining the situation. Hopefully they can do something to make it right, especially since it’s been less than a year. You might be able to mail the bag for repair, rather than having to drive out to your store. Or maybe they’ll accommodate an exchange? Keep us posted, please!

Thanks. It was an online order from Neiman Marcus.

The same thing actually happened in front of me while I was buying my small jodie. My SA accidentally popped the zipper pull off the original bag she brought out to sell me LOL. I was shocked. She didn't seem surprised at all, popped it back in and immediately went to get me another bag, but I was like wtf??? Still bought the bag though

I’d start with NM, and then call BV if NM can’t make it right. Good luck!
Well I just took a pliers and pushed down where it attaches so there is no gap for it to pull out of. I may actually do the same on other side even though it hasn’t detached yet. But thank you for your advice. Much appreciated. Seems like a design flaw with the zipper.

From the New York Time Magazine article, there is this one paragraph you all might find of interest:

...
Volkan Yilmaz goes by Tanner Leatherstein on TikTok, where some 800,000 followers watch him slash and tear popular silhouettes from Chanel or Louis Vuitton apart at the seams to assess whether the quality of any given handbag is “worth it” from a quality and craftsmanship perspective. (Spoiler: Very rarely so. With the exception of Bottega Veneta or Hermès.) “A luxury bag’s cost is never about its material,” Yilmaz told me.

I've seen a few of his reviews. For luxury brands, it seems he likes the quality of Bottega Veneta and Loewe, which are my two favorites. He did not care for the quality of a BV wallet he reviewed, though. I have not bought any BV SLGs, so I cannot speak on that. However, I definitely think the handbags are worth it from a quality perspective.

Thanks for posting this. Now I will go look for the article!

Can anyone speak to their experience with the new lifetime warranty policy (certificate of craft I think it’s called)? I read online that they give you a physical card with purchases, but when I just recently bought the Solstice bag in store I wasn’t given anything/told anything about the warranty. Just wondering if it’s worth going to my local boutique to ask for one, or if every new purchase after they instituted it is automatically covered and I just need my receipt from a boutique if going in for any repairs, etc. thank you in advance !

I emailed my local BV store to ask about this, and they said that the certificate of craft is only available for the following designs:

JODIE
POUCH INTRECCIATO
PADDED CASETTE
HANDLE
CABAT
KALIMERO
COBBLE
SARDINE
KNOT
TOSKA

I was told something similar except I was told it also applied to certain sizes. I was shopping for the pouch and the jodie and in those bags it was only for teen and larger. the two minis I was looking at, were 2 year warranties. My SA also mentioned creating an account and made it seem like my warranties would be connected to that account. I didn't really ask further because I wasn't interested in those sizes but would love further clarification too.

that is interesting! in the email, the SA added that "seasonal bags are not included". i'd be curious to know more about that.
yes, they will create an account for you. i know this because i bought a bag from an outlet and they created an account for me and registered the bag (bought the old shoulder pouch style. i believe it's been discontinued? i don't see it on their website anymore..) there, saying i would have the same after-service care as if i bought from a boutique.

hmm interesting thank you both for the info!! Sounds contradicting to what someone who just bought an Andiamo shared (that it is covered) and also I would be incredibly turned off from the brand if a bag they priced at $4,500 isn’t covered simply because it’s seasonal … I may just check with my local boutique as well to see. Thanks again!
