I am new to Hermes and I might be interested in the Picotion as my first / entry Hermes bag. However I do not find it on the website (I am in Europe). Is it discontinued? Is there hope if I go to the boutique? Sorry if I am asking something that is common knowledge but as mentioned I am a newbie -:) Is the Picotion only available on the preloved market? And would you all think it could be a good entry bag? Thanks! -:)

Picotin appears on website once in a while but you have to grab it fast or else someone will. I would suggest you call the boutique to check on the availability before you go. It is selling very fast too.

Got a black picotin gm ghw as a present today  I’m so happy with my indigo pm ghw and this one, love the feeling of leather and the suede lining. No inserts in these bags for me.
I am just about to pull the trigger on the same color, size and hardware. Can you tell me how tall you are? I just want to make sure the 22 is the right size for me and I shouldn't wait for the 26. Thank you!

I’m 67” (168cm), hope the pics help. I do love my 18 pico but at times I need to carry a bit more. Never tried a 22 but it’s a lovely in between size. I actually prefer smaller bags but this one fits my Ipad so I can use it for work and on weekend trips to the countryhouse. There are times when I don’t want to carry a B/K and the pico, especially in clemence is such a carefree bag, rain/snow and no worries.

Considering the Picotin (probably P18)... can anyone chime in here on why you prefer Picotin over Lindy? I’m on the fence.

I love/need a shoulder carry but figured I could add that to the Picotin?

Would the P18 be a good size? My daily bag is an Evie TPM (I don’t carry much!) but I am sorta tall (67” - 5’ 7”) so perhaps the next size up? I like small bags but the L26 always feels a little small on me so would probably do the L30 if I go that way despite it being *much* bigger than I need.

Also does anyone know the current US price of the P18?

I have the P18 & P22 and the Lindy 26. For me, I don't think I can give my preference as the two as the styles are so different. One thing about the Lindy I do prefer is that I can wear it on the shoulder. I can fit the P18 on my shoulder but it looks odd. The P22 I can definitely shoulder carry but the bag is too big for what I carry. If your daily bag is the TPM, the P18 is gonna seem so much roomier for your things. I'm 5'1" so not a good comparison but I have a GF whose 5'8" with the L26 and it looks great on her.

I believe the current price of a basic (no exotic handle, etc.) P18 is $2,800. HTH

I’m also considering P18 but haven’t had a bag without shoulder strap since having kids. Anyone find it cumbersome if you have small kids? My kids are a bit older now (5 & 7) that I’m not carrying a baby but I do carry their stuff! And at playgrounds play with them etc. I’m assuming a Picotin might not be the bast bag at a playground but sometimes we go after school/work. I’m thinking the P18 would be a great work/everyday bag. Any have experience who could comment? Thx!

I have a 22 picotin, i find it looks best hand-carried or in the crook of the arm. It can be worn under the shoulder if needed but imo it doesn’t look as nice then. It’s after all a bucket bag ! Plus, if you add a strap then the bag is completely open... unless you carry virtually nothing (and then what’s the point of having a larger bag?) it’s not ideal
My daugthers are four and i don’t think i’ve ever used my Picotin while with them - i rely on crossbody or shoulder bags !
However if you’re interested in adding a strap this blogger shows how she does it here
