For a Picotin it's more about whether it's in stock at the time you inquire. Also look on Hermes website. It's not often is stock so you need to be persistent. Good luck and please be sure to show us what you buy.
Thank you! I sure will, I’m going to save up and hopefully have enough and buy myself one for my birthday in April. I do have one more question, let’s say they don’t have the picotin that I want (because I have a specific color in mind) or maybe none at all, would they give me a chance like give me a call when one does come in stock at my local hermes? Do know if they would be picky like that? Or it’s just I would have to keep coming back until they do have it?
Unless you find a really nice SA I don't think you will get a call... the Picotin is popular and for Hermes, it's really a low price point for them so the bags sell out easily and fast. One of the Picotin's I bought was because I happened to be in the store and another customer was looking at it. They turned it down and so I snapped it up. So I think you will need to keep going into the store, or perhaps find a trusted reseller, or be flexible with the color you buy.
What color/size are you trying for and are you in the US?

That makes sense, of course if the option is presented to me I’ll decide then and there if I want something different, but I’m a neutral kind of person so I want something I know I can find myself grabbing rather than regretting because of the color.
I want it in size 18 in the color Benton I believe that’s what it’s called, like a cream white, beige color, and yes I’m in the US.
Just recently got my mom her picotin thanks to an amazing SA in Chicago! (gris etain with ghw). Had the hardest time looking for this in Canada

It depends, it does on me but I'm a shortie. For instance, I don't think it will fit me if I have a winter coat on. YMMV.
I can fit the 22 on my shoulder, but due to the shape, it looks much better and more balanced hand held or on the crook of the arm. For true shoulder carry, the 26 may be better if that is your preferred way to carry. I saw my neighbor with the larger 26 on her shoulder and it looked quite chic on her. Definitely something worth trying on if you have a boutique near you. Good luck deciding!
