Ode to the Evelyne

I adore Barenia, also as an Evelyne. It is super lovely, especially once it has developed a patina But since it scratches easily it’s not everyone's cup of tea. Barenia Faubourg is more sturdy. There is a Ode thread for Barenia which I can highly recommend. I think I’ve seen pictures of older Barenia Evelynes there.

I have an Evelyne PM in Barenia and love it. Haven’t had any issues with scratching. My very favorite Hermes leather! Is the smaller size made in Barenia? I’ve never seen one.

I haven’t seen it yet physically as it’s not yet in the store. My SA said they have it ordered for spring/summer collection, so I have to wait until their stocks arrived.

I love it. I saw a Nata Evelyne in PM in the store and was really tempted but was afraid of color transfer. Would you mind sharing after 10-20 times wearing how well the color holds up or whether there are major color transfers. If your experience is positive I might have one more item on my wishlist for next year

Hi again! Now I'm back from my holiday and the weather was super humid and my Evelyne in Nata was perfect bag for everyday use. I used it many hours /day and it's still like new. Can't see any color transfers on the leather. Not even on corners.

The small Vespa is the same size as Evelyne TPM and has long cross body strap. The only issue is that when the toggle is closed it cuts down on the room inside the bag, but I love the chaine d'ancre toggle and the barenia strap (rather than canvas) You may find a vintage one in Barenia.

Hello everyone, what do you think of Evelyne in barenia leather? I asked my SA for a mini evelyne in gold however, seems like they don’t have it coming for the spring/summer collection instead she offered me a chai or barenia. TIA

I'd love someone's opinion. I purchased an Hermes Evelyne TPM today from Julia Rose Boston. The bag is new in box, black with black strap and gold hardware. I was in the market for a small black bag but did purchase somewhat more quickly than I typically would because I was afraid it would sell. Now I'm questioning (a) if I paid too much ($3095) and (b) if I'll be happy with the gold hardware. Not a good feeling! I mostly wear white gold/ platinum jewelry and will primarily use this as a casual bag. Any thoughts out there?

I think its totally personal preference of whether u like it or not.
i have etoupe with ghw n i love it. I find the ghw adds something special to an otherwise neutral color. But then I also wear both yellow gold and whiTe gold.
As for the price, I’m not sure but if you’re not convinced, its too expensive. However if you are then might be ok?

I totally agree with Book Worm... The hardware is a personal preference.. I wear white and yellow gold, and have the same color bags in both GHW and PHW. I think it's a very casual bag, regardless of hardware.. Regarding the price, I personally have a difficult time paying more than retail for luxury items, but that's just my stubborn nature. I'm willing to wait, perhaps for nothing as something I want may never be available/offered to me. However, I also haven't come across a something I want that badly, YET. It may still happen one day! LOL If you absolutely love it, and don't want to bother with the wait for one in store, then it's totally worth it. But if you're iffy, then it may not be the one for you.

PS It's an adorable little bag. I hate that I can't fit my phone in it, but I still love it!

I actually didn’t have a clue as to the retail price until after I purchased and then googled. JRB seems to be a reputable site so I trusted that… I’m still not certain of msrp? I do think I’d love it a tad more with the palladium hardware.

Fashionphile has quite a few for far less, PHW, free shipping, and free no questions asked returns.
