ODE to Kelly 25

I need some advice .. will be placing an SO soon .. it will def be Kelly 25 but I keep going back and forth between sellier and retourne
I have a back box 28 sellier and will soon have a ebene retourne 25
I think I would prob use retourne more readily bc it’s more casual but
I’m wondering if the sellier is more classic ? Would love to hear some thoughts ! TIa!

Sellier is definitely more classic and formal IMO. It really depends on what you are looking for. Retournè is more casual as you said.
What colour are you going to get?

Timely question as I’ve been on a hunt but down the reseller route. Can’t decide which one of these, assuming they’re out there:

1. K25 sellier noir chevre (any hardware)
2. K25 sellier rouge casaque chevre (phw or permabrass)
3. K25 sellier rose pourpre chevre (any hardware)

... all depending on whether I can find a BBK 28 that’s decent.

Just from a personal preference, I prefer sellier over retourne. I only have K25s, all sellier style, and in that size, I have no qualms about using my sellier Ks casually. I may feel differently if I ever get a K28. But I don’t think sellier style would limit your ability to use the bag casually, especially in a bright color like Lime.

Just from a personal preference, I prefer sellier over retourne. I only have K25s, all sellier style, and in that size, I have no qualms about using my sellier Ks casually. I may feel differently if I ever get a K28. But I don’t think sellier style would limit your ability to use the bag casually, especially in a bright color like Lime.

A lime K Sellier in chèvre would be dreamy! While Sellier is more classic, and retourne is more casual, I think the sellier is more beautiful. And chèvre leather is a must for a Kelly SO! Maybe a contrasting interior in gris perle, gris asphalt, or rose pourpre! Would bleu brume be available as an interior color? I also love vert bosphore. Although it might be too dark as an interior color, it would be a beautiful exterior color! Maybe with lime interior.

If you’re excluding exotics and special orders, then the only leather left is epsom for Kelly selliers (I personally only like the sellier). Unless you mean Barenia, butler, tadelakt, box etc... but those will be hard to come by.

If we are pretending those rarer leathers are easily available in any colour, then I would choose K25 sellier tadelakt in rose extreme GHW.
