ODE to Kelly 25

Hi everyone, I’m looking for my first and only Hermes. I want a Kelly 25 because I’m only 5’1” slouching and 5’2” (when I’m really standing straight ) and have a love for crossbody bags!

my question is: for Kelly 25 do you prefer epsom selllier or Togo retourne?

Good question! I think that my K25 Epsom sellier is more beautiful to look at, but less user friendly & practical than my K25 Togo retourne. I love having both but wouldn't add another Kelly sellier in any size or leather...

I know this is too much to ask, if you have photos please post the Togo retourne and how old is she? After some research, some of them are sagging (on YouTube reviews) maybe they didn’t take care of them or didn’t put any inserts?? Thanks in advance! And happy New Years!! :panic::yahoo::drinks:

I've had the Kelly retourne for around 2 years and the bag still looks brand new. I store it very carefully (with filling and lying on the back) and when I use it, I never overfill and close it properly (i.e. I don't carry it open).

I can't see a K25 bag sagging as it's so small, but know what you mean and it's the reason I wouldn't buy a K32 or K35 retourne. This is just personal preference of course

I recently purchased a Kelly 25 and the receipt says Kelly 2. Does anyone know what the 2 stands for and is there a version 2 ?

Kelly II was released in 2000 as an update to the original Kelly. It has a double ring at the top handle while the original features a single-ring design. The receipt also indicates the hardware like CC, CK, CD.

We are of the same height. I have both and they have different personalities. I’ll post photos (again sorry) to compare them -

Retourne (Togo)- more casual, user friendly, fits more. I’ve had this for four years already. It has travelled the world with me and still looks pristine. I even brought it to the swiss alps.

Sellier (Chevre Mysore) - more dressy, fits less, harder to open and close, more structured, looks bigger than the retourne. I find Chevre leather easier to maintain, more lightweight and less prone to scratches than my k28 epsom.

Overall, I like the look of the sellier more but I use my retourne way more. I also tend to be more careful with the sellier while I don’t really baby my retourne.

I managed to find a photo of my K25 retourne when I got it from the boutique to give you an idea. The left photo is the moment I took it out from the box vs right photo taken today - four years apart. This bag has travelled with me to at least 15 countries, not babied. Hope this helps.

My SO Kelly 25 sellier (epsom, Rose Azalea/Rose Pourpre, shining gold hardware) and retourne (togo, noir, phw)
Love the size for traveling, it can be easily put into a longchamp tote for any spots you do not feel comfortable to put the bag naked. Retourne gives the casual look so I took it to garden or museum or any stores. Sellier only went to formal events so far. Love the size!

Wondering if a Sellier K25 can hold a standard 16.9fl oz water bottle? My SA has just asked me what bag I’d like and I’m debating between a K25 and K28. I don’t carry a lot but I do usually carry a water bottle so want to be sure I won’t be struggling to fit a bottle in a K25. Thanks for any help!

You can fit a 12oz and close the bag perfectly. But even a 12oz is a bit of a hassle to get in and out if the K25 is in epsom.
I would go for 28 retourne for comfort.
