your plume looks exactly like my barenia watch strap and KD - in terms of colour scratches texture..

don't think it is chamonix.. i think for a box calf lover you would be able to tell from the feel of the leather straightaway...chamonix is box calf without the gloss (i have in a k and wallet).

can the scratches be rubbed off? my experience with gulliver and swift are that the superficial scratches just disappear...i had scratched my BE KP in swift with my 42mm constance buckle lots of times...i was able to rub them off... i had a gulliver bolide (from 1995) lined in lambskin...scratch free though.. and swift bags i believe are usually lined in swift tooo...

Bags to die for, maplemoose, Duna, textile girl, flossy, HP, chincac....thanks for all your comments. This is like elections and the barenia republic is leading a wide margin. :D

bring Ms BareniaornotBarenia Plume over so I can touch her all over to figure out whether she's barenia or not :graucho:

while we are it what about evergrain? evercalf? have only seen these two leathers for a brief period 5 years ago..not sure when they were introduced but evergrain very similar to gulliver/swift/evercolour (a kind lady once let me touch her evergrain So Kelly) and evercalf is like chamonix...scratches easily on dark colours. the evercalf wallet i saw in the H store was scratched in a few places and it was still put out for sale...sorry not helping!!

Lol cc., lets have a barenia-a-thon to ogle each other's Barenias!!!:rofl::giggles: it's gorgeous jadeite, and it looks like barenia to me too. What size is it dear 28 or 32?

hello L, Barenia-a-thon sounds absolutely fun. alas i don't own any barenia bags yet. i will just have to play with yours and Jadeite's.

I actually think Evercalf looks more like Gulliver and Barenia. It's smooth and velvety and really looks like colored Barenia in certain colors.
Evergrain has a visible tiny grain bc it's stamped IIRC.

I would have suggested that Jadeite's Plume was Evercalf if it had been dated later..

Hi you're here! It's 32.
Boldly assuming it is Barenia then I truly got lucky.
Saw it in a store, thought about it and went back couple days later despite unsure of leather it is a gorgeous bag nonetheless.

I'm 100% in support of Barenia-thon p.or.n
Let me start by touching HP's collection which for sure will bring me to a high quickly. ROFL
