Gulliver B-square vs mystery leather

OK HOLD UP I didn't realize we were talking about a PLUME here, THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! The bag has a gold stamp because all Plumes are LINED IN CHEVRE!!!

So this means your Plume could be any leather, INCLUDING BARENIA (which I personally think it is). It makes ID'ing the leather of Plumes difficult, but at least you can now live with the possibility that your bag is indeed Barenia instead of :noggin:

Hope this helps!!!

I have a plume elan (exotic) and it is lined with lambskin.

Jadeite, my two cents is that your plume is barenia. A friend does have a gold gulliver bag and I will ask to get a picture with chamonix (natural) and barenia (fauve).

I'm chiming in here with the view that the scratches on the mystery Plume don't look like chamonix or box scratches, and do look like barenia scratches. I'm comparing them to what I see on my barenia Picotin and chamonix Plume (lined in chèvre with a gold heat stamp, for whatever that's worth). I don't own any Gulliver or Swift bags so can't help there. Fun research project!

Haha! I think you just threw a curveball
Actually I have a plume élan with lambskin interior
Maybe it's just the elans that is the exception

I'm actually quite liking the idea my bag can be Barenia chamonix gulliver and maybe box....even VN?! Kinda like having four or five different plumes? Lol!

Noisette Box came to my mind. But after checking my noisette plume, the stitches have different color. So my vote goes to barenia ! Love barenia !

The comparison pic I posted of box vs mystery leather... The boxcalf is noisette too. Is your noisette a rich chestnutty colour too? I actually quite like that shade.

Ha ha maybe you're right, I always thought it was Chevre but on closer inspection it could well be lambskin! Anyway, the stamp in Plumes do not indicate the outer leather unfortunately.

I have Noisette box, VN (Plume), Swift and Barenia bags and based on that experience I'd say your bag does not resemble Noisette box or VN. It doesn't look like Chamonix either.

Besides Barenia, I'd say it looks closest to Swift/Gulliver. Is it heavy? That might be a clue. Swift is one of the heaviest leathers, next to Clemence. The Barenia should feel quite light in comparison.
