do you have doubts about authenticity?
or is it just quality?
Hi! No doubts about authenticity, the store is very local to JP and both were sold to them by JP customers who purchased the bag in domestic stores.

My main concern is quality - some of the uneven stitching, crinkling of leather.. I am wondering if these are prevalent in others’ Barenia bags as well.

To be honest, not noticed in my Barenia bags in different styles, then I do not have a Sellier K. Let's see what the other owners think.

Hello Barenia lovers! I am hoping for some help from you all. Currently in JP and like a true handbag lovers dream, I stumbled across a barenia Kelly 25. The stamp starts with U which I believe means it was produced in ‘22? Anyways, I loved the leather but the smell was gone and I noticed that there were some.. imperfections as above? Some stitchings and crumpled(?) leather. What do you think, am I being too picky? Lastly I noticed the inside was not smooth leather - is that normal?

Many thanks! Hoping to join you all soon.
I have to say mine is similar to the second picture, I will send a pic later when I’m home. I think is because is so stiff and small so is harder to make. But as I others have said, being handmade I don’t expect full perfection and honestly doesn’t bother me. It’s beautiful regardless! Is my most used Hermes bag and I love the patina that is developing. If you get it enjoy it!!

Ahh thank you. I know, I am excited but just unsure as it would be my first barenia bag. I am looking forward to your pictures!

My Kelly 32 has arrived! Have already worn her about half a dozen times in the past 1.5 weeks! I think I have also given her some new marks, but I love her! She still smells heavenly. 🥰🥰 I’ve added some pics of me taking her out for the first time, trying her on for the first time and trying out some twillys.
Hi, may I ask where you got your bag from? I recently got a K28 retourne BF in Fauve with PHW, and now I am OBSESSED with getting a bag in the OG smooth Barenia too.

I purchased from MadisonAvenueCouture. I think it was a lucky find - for the condition, price and age. I am so happy it has gold hardware! Love this bag so much. 🥰
That’s so lovely 😍 phw is my first choice for fauve but i’m so glad you found your dream bag 👍🏻 is it very heavy? Would it actually be too much to ask if you could weigh it? 😅 i’m contemplating what to put down as my next wish. I know it’s not likely i’ll get a smooth Barenia K32 from the store, but doesn’t hurt to try…

I don’t have a scale to weigh it. I don’t find it heavy. It’s heavier than my Togo K28, but still not too heavy. I’m 5’9 and athletic (power lifter and f45) so maybe what I think is heavy vs not heavy is subjective?

Maybe too late, but my K 32 Sellier dies not have the stitching that I see in your picture. I would put it down to hand made. I however have very similar wrinkles in all 4 corners of my bag. Very similar pattern of wrinkles in each corner. Maybe a sign of aging, or stretch in the leather - my bag is from the late 1990s. Funny, I never noticed them before!

I hope this helps!

Happy new year, fellow Barenia lovers! I am excited to share my new-to-me acquisition...Birkin 35 in smooth Barenia. I found her on eBay and, after a long journey from Canada (prolonged by the postal strike, Customs bureacracy, and holiday shipping rush), she finally arrived last night. She is from 2018 and was barely used - stickers still on the hardware (which I will remove!), bababebi authenticated.

Customs and/or UPS gave me a head start in developing her patina by getting what looks like an oil mark on her front... 🤨 after getting upset about it (because the shipping/customs journey was WIIIILD, so this was the final insult), I reminded myself that that's how these bags roll, and it won't be long before I've added my own scratches and dings.

I'm just so delighted by the size, the look, the smell. I was slightly worried 35 would be too big but it's exactly perfect for my needs, just as I had hoped. I told my friend this morning that no one *needs* a Birkin...but I've never experienced a workhorse bag so beautifully and well constructed, and I'm just so over the moon to have her. I've been a long-time Hermès and Birkin lover but only started shopping there last year. The more I read and lurk and learn about the brand, the more I've realized I really prefer vintage bags and heritage leathers, which means going pre-loved really makes the most sense for me. I was able to find a beautiful vintage Kelly in box leather in Paris last year, and then this find on eBay came out of nowhere, so I had to pull the trigger. 🤩 Might have a bit of purse peace (for now!). Not sure what I'll tell my SA about my wishlist when I see him next. 🤣

Thanks for sharing all of your lovely bags and knowledge here! It's been so helpful.

This is absolutely stunning a real dream. Congratulations!!! Enjoy it so very much.
I love heritage leathers so much, I got a box leather Kelly from my birth year and I have a Kelly 25 is smooth barenia so sometimes I try to convince myself I should have 2 smooth barenia bags. But this Birkin is what dreams are made of !!!

Congratulations! What a very beautiful find! It is indeed the perfect workhorse-bag (and size, actually) in my eyes - no need to worry about anything, rain, dirt, scuffs … the patina will become more beautiful with every use and the leather will keep forever. And look so elegant, no matter what.

Have lots of fun enjoying and wearing it!

… I had this eBay moment with my K32 sellier in smooth Barenia a year or so ago … also got it authenticated and love it to death.
