Depends. If they are designer collection, sometimes they will give a price adjustment after 30 days, sometimes they won't give one at all. Non-designer collection, you can always get a price adjustment. At least that's always been my experience.

their website or receipt (don't remember which) says a price adjustment within 14 days. i haven't tried past that timeframe, so i can't help there. sorry!
I've tried the same thing, and they did adjust it for me. But the reason I was able to have them agree to it where they declined me at first, was because I pointed out that I was still able to order my exact same size/color and it was still available in the stores for purchase at the time I was asking them. Otherwise I think they wouldn't have agreed.
Thank you everyone. I think I am going to try it too. I know people who bought designer handbags before the anniversary sale (like months before) and then get price adjustments when they go on sale then. I hope it will work with shoes too. If worse comes to worst, I would just return the shoes for a full refund. But it would be nice to get them at a discounted price! =)
That is exactly how I feel about them. They treat me so well that they have earned my loyalty and goodwill.
Can I return a new with tag bag I didn't buy in nordstrom at nordstrom? I have a new with tag coach purse that I bought at coach store that i've never used. I bought it several months ago (December) when I was on vacation in San Diego. The closest coach store from my place is over an hr drive while Nordstrom is only 20mins away.
Can I return it? My friend said that since the tags are attached, they'd look for the Nordstrom sticker and since my tag doesn't have that, they'll knoW that I didn't buy it in their store.

Even though Nordstrom is lenient, one thing they won't do is take back items they didn't sell you. They will work really hard to find records of transactions from years ago if necessary, but asking to return something you didn't buy there is pushing it.
well, that would be fraud..... so um, if you have any moral compass, the answer is no
