what about the sticky nordstrom label? is that normal? is it possible a nordstrom employee took the top sticker off? i dont want to raise any suspicion to myself

Anything is possible, but since you said it was an online order, they will just ask for the buyers name and look up the purchase. Online orders are easier to look-up (if you received it as a gift), than in-store items purchased as a gift.

Roughly a year ago, my aunt gave me a pair of Burberry rain boots (this pair, actually: http://us.burberry.com/store/bags-shoes/shoes/rain-boots/prod-34646891-exploded-check-rain-boot/) that she had bought from Nordstrom. The boots are lovely, but the heel is much too low for me (shortie here, so gotta get as much extra height as I can get!), so I've never worn the boots.

I'd like to return the boots, but the thing is, my aunt never gave me a gift receipt for the boots. Also, I think she purchased the boots before Nordstrom implemented their sticker-lookup system, so SAs can't look up the boots that way either. I do still have the shoe box, miraculously, but it's kind of beat up, although the shoes themselves are brand new, obviously.

Just not sure what I ought to do with these shoes. I don't want to sell them on eBay, as I'm wary of selling high-end things there, plus these shoes would be a pain to ship, and eBay collects hefty fees.

If it makes any difference at all, I do have a card with Nordstrom.

Advice/suggestions/thoughts? Thanks in advance, ladies!

cupcakeprincess & brwneyedgrl, thanks for the sticker clarification! I don't shop that often at Nordstrom, and almost all of my purchases have been made online, and I had never encountered a sticker until recently, so I thought it was a relatively new thing or something. In any case, though, there's no sticker on the box. :-/

Ah - yes, I've gotten stickers with all my in store purchases, but not on all of my online purchases. If I return in store, the associates get very confused, but then they just look up my purchase history and find it. Hopefully they can look up your aunt's purchase history.

About three months ago, I ordered a pair of Doc Martens 1460 8-eye boots at Nordstrom. I wore them for about 2 weeks. I heard about the long break-in period so that's why I thought they were a little tight. But then I realized to that they had given me a size 8 in a size 9 BOX! But since I wore them already, I thought that they wouldn't take them anyway but then I learned about their great return policy. I still have the receipt. But it shows light signs of wear.

What do you think? Do you think I can still return it for a full refund or even store credit?

This brings me to my second question. I have a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that I got a year ago. I don't use it so I was thinking about returning that too. The thing is, I cut the tag and I no longer have the receipt. And it was kind of a gift. But I kept have the tags, where they scan it.

Do you think I can return it for store credit. Since it wasn't bought on my card that bought it. How does that work? Can anyone tell me?

Any insight would help. I would really like to get something back for them since they're just kind of sitting around.
