Seattle Nordstroms said they will price match... but they would have to call the store.. and if the store even picks up..they actually have to have the bag. But if saks does have that bag then they will price match.

I just don't understand why the item has to be in stock...I never understood that :shrugs:

Okay, obviously, we're in search for the same item for that particular sale price because it has been sold out at one store! Sooo..I think that as long as there is proof that it was ONCE on sale before at the sold out store then they should be able to sell it to us at the sale price if they even price match at all ya kno?

Ugh...makes me sad and mad at the same time

IT WORKED FOR ME!!

I just came back from Saks and Nordstrom in SCP and 2 different Nordstrom SAs price matched for designer shoes and clothing and did not make me wait until Tues.

I got a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and several Nanette Lepore items. They did call Saks to confirm the price and that they carried the specific style. However, Saks did not have to have my exact size in stock.

I didn't try this with handbags but I don't think it hurts to ask again in-store. Even as they were ringing me up, the manager that authorized the sale said "Nordstrom will not be undersold!"

Thats GREAT:tup:

That's why I love Nordstrom :)

do you happen to know if they called the Saks at SCP to confirm or a general Saks line? I want to purchase some shoes too, but I would like to be able to choose from more than just the SCP selection!

I believe they called the Saks in SCP not the general line. I know they asked specifically about the style because I was unable to get the price match on another pair of shoes I wanted since they were unable to confirm that Saks carried them.

I was told by three different Nordies CS operators and two SA's that they ONLY price match if they can find the exact item, in the exact same color on sale. I was looking for them to price match See by Chloe bags. They had the same "sizes" but not the same colors and they wouldn't do it. It was a waste of time!

If the exact item is sold out at one place, there is no competition between the 2 stores to validate the price match, so of course Nordie doesn't have to give it to you. You're now buying from them because you couldn't bought one at NM! But if the companies do think in the same manner as you do, I wouldn't mind either~ hahaha

A Saks employee on another thread made a great point to counter Nordstrom's thinking/strategy. Saks made the judgment call to go aggressively after the shopper's wallet. By the time Nordstrom discounts bags further, many shoppers of high end bags will be tapped out. This is a buyer's market and there will be those who stay irked at Nordstrom. I think Nordstrom should do the same thing as Saks with their own handbag sales. Forget bag by bag matching and just go ahead and give the extra 50% off for Nordstrom credit card holders. Then they would be at parity with Saks.
