Hi thefinchster, was there still a sale price shown on the out stock item at that website you were price matching. I'm trying to do a price match but my item doesn't have the sale price anymore since it was sold out .

Yeah, the sale price was still shown. I also screen shot it incase they took the item or sale price off.

If it's the same product same color at a competitor they will match the price- remember it has to be a competitor like saks are Bloomingdales not ssense or bluefly etc

I know this post I'm replying to is pretty old. I'm mostly a lurker, but asked for a price match on Live Chat today and they were able to PM with bluefly for a coat I wanted. I don't know if policy changed (from their site it doesn't look like it did), but since people had success getting Nordstrom to price match with Amazon, I decided to ask. The worst they could say was no right? Well I was pleasantly surprised when I got a yes :)

The coat was same product, same color, same size, in stock and the rep did verify that through the link I sent her. As the coat was already on sale at Nordstrom too (Nordstrom just had less percentage off) the price difference was minimal (something like $30), but I went with Nordstrom for the better return policy and customer service, just in case it didn't work out.

I placed the order online after the PM was agreed to and she adjusted the price using my order number. I checked the order after she told me she had adjusted the price and everything checked out. Very smooth process.

Congrats! My DB always like to remind me that if I don't ask, the answer is always no. And it doesn't hurt to ask multiple times through different methods (live chat, SA, phone, etc)!
