Just came from the Roosevelt Field Nordstom. Handbags refused to price match Saks. Only 50% off the reg price. Salon shoes price matched some brands. They pricematched a pair of Tory Burch boots for me. They wouldn't price match Manolo or Prada.

what i've been told is nordstrom will not pricematch the extra 50% off because it is only available to saks card holders. i assume this goes out the door on tuesday when the sale goes public. but nordstrom still wants to make sure that saks has the same product in stock (style and color, not (shoe) size). that may still make the pricematch impossible.

that being said, the SA i worked with pricematched 2 pairs of lanvin ballet flats (bala cynwyd carried them). he said he's probably breaking some rules, but he promised me a pricematch before he talked to the managers so he kept his word. he has gained a loyal customer :tup:

So this is what I learned: It really depends on the SA. If one won't pricematch, just move right along to the next SA. Eventually someone will pricematch for you.

Every Nordstrom has a different pricematching policy. Honestly, I think they just pull the policy out of their butts b/c a lot of them are lazy and don't want to deal with it. But keep trying! There's always a nice one that's willing to bend over backwards for you. That's why I'm a loyal Nordstrom shopper :tup:

i went to nordies yesterday and the cs rep said that it really depends on the case and theyre doing all sorts of different things from no price matching to giving 10 percent off (instead of 50:( ) to fully matching (in rare occasions)
so there u have it!

since it doesn't make sense as SAKs has almost sold out everything... but nordstrom might be really to match it, never hurt to try it.

It's OK. I went there today and they didn't have the bag anymore anyway. I probably should've tried shoes tho.

You're now buying from them because you couldn't bought one at NM! But if the companies do think in the same manner as you do, I wouldn't mind either~ hahaha

Oh okay..I see what you're saying... I still wish they could price match even if it is sold out! That would probably give them a sale that they would not have gotten anyway, plus they've earned another faithful customer :)

This is interesting - KOP Nordstroms (outside Philly) IS price matching the extra 50% on top of tha already 40% off designer bags. The only catch is you have to go in person on Tuesday between 10:00AM and 12:00PM. They are only doing for those 2 hours and you must go to store to get it.

Does the item have to be in stock? or as long as they can verify that it was on sale before and has now been sold out? TIA! :smile1:
