Hmm, my SA told me that it's really up to the store manager's discretion because they've had people try to take advantage of this in the past. She told me one example where a customer price-matched Revas online from Saks (in a size 5) and came back and tried to exchange them for a size 9 (her real size). Your case is different because something was wrong with the boots, but I guess it depends on the manager or SA?

Girls, I am sooooo happy I found this thread! I just got a price match at Nordies, and I am glad I did try! It went through, and they didn't even check the website to make sure. The item was actually sold out, but yet they price match. By the way, it was another color that was on sale. I couldn't believe! The whole transaction went smooth. I made the purchase through the live chat.I am glad I now know that Nordies does price match, so from now on I will only purchase with them. I am tired of Bloomies, the S.As there are mean/rude. I only shopped there because they have sales and promotions all the time! Soooo happy today!!!
Yay!:yahoo:

P.S.: I actually went to Nordies' store today, but the girl told me it must be same size and color in order to price match, and that they don't accept Bloomies coupons, only items on sale are honored.

I just called Nordstrom so I can place an order on a few pairs of shoes, and I also wanted to price match them. The guy helping me told me that he can only price match 2 of the 3 pairs of shoes I was ordering because the site that has them for less only has 2 of the 3. They are all the same shoe, same style, same size, just different colors. On the Nordstrom site, all three of them have the same item number. I am confused as to why I am not able to price match all three of them. I have price matched before, even if the color and size were different on the site that I was asking them to price match, as long as it was the same shoe. I even asked to talk to a supervisor and they told me the exact same thing that the guy told me, they have to be the same size and same color. The supervisor told me that they updated their price match policy so maybe that is why I was able to do it before. So I asked her when they updated the policy and she said, A few years ago. I did a price match only a few months ago so I really do not get why all of a sudden I can't anymore. And the policy on their website does not state any specifics, that is has to be the same color, or size, etc. Ugghh I am really frustrated right now. Any advice on what to do? Has this ever happened to you? I was thinking of still ordering three, but just order 2 of the same color and then I can take one of them in store and exchange it for the other color that they wouldn't price match over the phone? I don't know if that would work but I figure it is worth a try. Does anyone here work at Nordstrom or know a really good SA that will be able to help me out? Any help is appreciated!

when this happens, simply copy and paste the nordstrom pricematch policy and send to the rep (if you're doing it via live chat) or direct them to the policy if you're on the phone.

I do know that they are getting more strict about PMing. Like, the item has to be in-stock on the competitors website. If the item isn't in stock, what would be their reference point? I've never had issues when it comes to the same color and size.

Customers have take advantage of the policy, so I assume that's why they're getting strict.

Woah! I just went to the Nordstrom site to look at the price match policy and they have definitely changed it!! Up until a few months ago, all it said was that they would price match any competitors, but this is what they have up now:

At Nordstrom we are committed to offering you the best possible prices. We will be glad to meet our competitor's pricing if you ever find an item that we offer, in the same color and size, available from a similar retailer. Please call 1-888-282-6060 to place your order.

Please note that designer goods and cosmetics are not included in this policy. We are unable to match prices from auction and outlet stores or websites, as well as other retailers' discount promotions, shipping offers and gift card offers.

WHAT! They used to price match discounts such as friends and family but I am guessing that is no more?

Yeah, see I have never had an issue on the same color and size before either! Thats why I was shocked when even the supervisor told me that. But according to their policy online, it now has to be the same color and same size.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I recently bought some UGG's from Nordstrom and got a price match. I would like to get a different color. Would it be bad if I exchange them without a receipt. I'm afraid they will not re-honor my price match from what I got online.

this is what i am thinking of doing since they wont price match a different color on a pair of shoes. did you try this? what happened? anyone else ever do this?

Sorry, but I don't like to usually post adversarial things, but that is so unethical. You are trying to go around their rule, by doing it in a sneaky way. It is so sad that people do this stuff. I hope that amazing institutions like Nordstrom don't eventually change their policies because of this sort of behavior.

i said i was thinking of doing it, doesn't mean i have or will. i have done price matches with nordstrom a few times and i have never had an issue with shoes being different colors until now.

Agree. While it may seem non-sensical, one should follow the rules.

Agreed, especially since more and more companies are tightening on their returns policy. I hope Nordstroms does not do the same.
