well it looks like it really just depends on the SA you get! I called twice yesterday and was told that the shoes have to be the same color otherwise they cant price match. After reading the posts here about trying until you get someone that says yes so I decided to call again today. The SA was able to price match the shoes for me, even though one of them was not the same color. I told them that when I called yesterday, they told me that it has to be the exact same color in order to price match and he told me that is not true and apologized!

I am going to post what I posted in the other thread;

I wonder why some SAs are so strict about it? Because like I said, I have done price matches plenty of times and I have never had problems with different colors so that is why I was so surprised yesterday when they were making it an issue. I have always just called their CS and ordered with them but maybe I should start calling the actual store and placing an order through the phone because the SA I got was very helpful!

I work in retail and I have to say this is one of my biggest pet peeve! It is their policy, same item, same color, must be available, etc. Just because some people choose not to follow their policy doesn't mean it isn't policy.

I really hate when people say well so and so did it for me, or they never did that before, or keep trying until they find a person who's willing to break rules for them. No matter how big a company is, they're still trying to make money, giving an SA a hard time is really unfair because they don't make the rules, they just have to follow them.

thats the frustrating thing because every SA says something different regarding the policy. i agree that if there is a set policy, then that is what they should follow but when you get a different answer every time, its annoying.

There is a set policy

"Price Matching At Nordstrom we are committed to offering you the best possible prices. We will be glad to meet our competitor's pricing if you ever find an item that we offer, in the same color and size, available from a similar retailer. Please call 1-888-282-6060 to place your order.
Please note that designer goods and cosmetics are not included in this policy. We are unable to match prices from auction and outlet stores or websites, as well as other retailers' discount promotions, shipping offers and gift card offers."

But after getting so many customers complaining or keep trying until they get the answers they want, it's frustrating. And it's frustrating to know that a customer can just complain about an SA for following policy.

It's annoying for you because you have to keep trying until you find someone who doesn't care enough about their job or someone who doesn't know the policy as well to give you what you want.

No, its annoying for me because you get a different answer every single time. If all of them gave the same answer, then it would be fine, but its always a different one. I had a manager tell me that the issue I had before with the guy over the phone should not have happened, and that the color doesn't matter. I'm pretty sure you have to care a lot about your job and know the policy very well in order to become a manager. I love how you are getting all mad at me for posting my issue when there are a million other posts on that subject. Chill out.

I am not mad, I'm just letting you know the perspective of the SA, of which I don't believe you know or care to. But it's the fact that you know the policy because even you posted it in your other thread before it ws moved, but choose not to care because you want your way.

Policy is policy and it's posted on the site for all to see. Even if someone will break the rules for you, you should be the bigger (ethical) person and just pay the price for what you want instead.

I was reading in the UGGs thread where people were able to get Nordstrom's to price match the Citysports.com price, PLUS the 25% off internet code for regular priced items that City Sports has available right now. (BK25RED)

I ordered some UGGs from Nordies on the 6th before I even had ventured into that thread, and decided to call and see if they would adjust my price for the ones I'd already paid for. The lady I spoke to would adjust the price to the citysports online price of $140 - but said they didn't allow Internet coupon codes with price matching. So my question was... how did people in that thread that got them to price match the 25% off sale word it to the customer service representative or how did you get the 25% discount?

Also... I was wondering after reading back a few pages in that thread - if something is on sale at an authorized retailer for UGGs (and you hadn't already purchased them at Nordstrom's, like in my case) - why does it seem like people are more apt to try to get Nordstrom's to price match, then just order from the authorized retailer, in this case City Sports, directly to get the sale price? I was just curious, if there was some reason I was missing there...

I am thinking about getting another pair of UGGs in a different color if I can get that at the $140 plus 25% off price that people had been talking about in that thread, but I wondered if there was some reason that I should try to get Nordstroms to price match over just ordering them directly from City Sports???

I probably can't answer all of your questions but I'll try. :) First off...the Uggs that you're wanting to PM at City Sports, are they on sale there? If they are, the 25% off coupon does not work. The coupon is only for full price Uggs. So you wouldn't even get the discount of $140 and the 25% off at the original website.

The way I understood the gals in the Uggs thread is that they were able to get 25% off full price Uggs on PM at Nordstrom. I have also had SAs that told me that they can't use Internet Coupon Codes for PMing. I've been told that the item has to be selling for that price, on the website. Not after you put in a code. But sometimes when I call, they will honor it, no questions asked. I think it depends on the SA.

As far as ordering from Nordstrom and not the other authorized dealer, I just prefer to deal with Nordstrom. I just assumed that's why people PM there. I know that if the shoes don't fit or I need to return them, I won't have a problem. I'm not sure about the other websites. Plus, I can just drop off the shoes at a local store, no return shipping needed. And I have a Nordies card and get points. :)

I hope that this helps!

Thanks for the info! ;) The UGGs are regular price $140 on the citysports.com (that is their everyday price) and then to get the 25% off you have to put in a coupon code... so Nordies would match that $140 price for me, it wasn't a sale price.

However, I tried to order another pair of UGGs, this time directly from City Sports in a different color to try to take advantage of the 25% off... and I couldn't get the code to work for me even though I read other places that it should work on UGGs. So I dunno. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Probably was user error. LOL...

I don't have a Nordies card, I just use one specific card for anything that I want to get points for so that probably explains it - everyone that is trying to get Nordstroms to price match is probably trying to get the points. :p

In my 15+ years of shopping at Nordstrom, I just had the most frustrating experience at Nordstrom, ever. I meant to buy a petite skirt earlier in the week online, but totally forgot. Then it went on sale w/ ½ yearly. Of course, my size sold out online, and then I went to my local store during lunch hour today to see if they might have one. Petites had it marked down, but not Point of View. POV located a 2 for me to be sent, and I put it on my charge card. However, they were still full price in POV. I went upstairs and talked to Petites, who confirmed that POV should price match the petite price. I brought down the 14P w/the sale price to POV. I tried to get them to price match, but they wouldn’t saying that they have diff buyers. I said, fine, I’ll go to Customer Service.

I got some newbie in CS, and she didn’t know what to do. She talked to the POV manager, and the manager in the ofc of Customer Service. She said she would do it this one time as a courtesy. Since she was so new, she didn’t know what she was doing, so another person stepped in. She made no big deal about it at all, and said she does it all the time. Since it was an order yet to be processed it wasn’t in the system, so she said I had to call back and do it over the phone later. She gave me her business card though. I wasted so much of my lunch hour dealing with this!

I see it happen online all the time where regular sized items are marked down 40%, but petites is only marked down 25%, and vice versa. I thought that online chat usually honors the lower price.

I was really annoyed that they wouldn't even price match within the same store for the exact same item but a different size! A different buyer? I don't think the regional buyer would set the sale price given that it's the same sale price online. Has anyone else had this problem before?
