That's not true. Nordies will honor the PM even if you have to exchange for another. I bought a pair of boots PMed by Nordies and asked the CS rep on the phone and she said explicitly that if for some reason they don't work out I can exchange for another and the PM price will be honored. Sure enough they sent me the wrong boots. All I had to do was call Nordies CS up and they ordered me another pair. The CS rep did note the PM price without my asking. Of course they had to charge my card again but I was going to drop the first pair off at Nordies in the mall anyways so no harm done..just had to wait again. They didn't carry my size in the store otherwise I would rather have done the exchange there.

I know, sneezz. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was so annoyed. I am glad that she did honor it. But, what I also found so strange was that one department gave us a problem and the other one didn't.

I have had Nordie's PM before and even when I called to do an exchange via .com with a PM, it was honored with no questions asked.

I am not sure what was going through this manager's mind.

This sounds like a SA situation, not a Nordie's in general problem.
Having worked in retail for a few years, I can tell you that management never does share information with their SA's so that's probably what happened here.

I would have called the 800 number on the nordies website for price matching. They are super nice and helped me get a price match for some creative recreation shoes for my bf when the SA wouldn't do it for me after I asked. I used to work at nordstrom so I knew they were giving me the run around.
Plus they advertise their price matching on posters near the door and on the website!
And if they told me they don't honor price match for exchange I would have returned the shoes and the told them I want to purchase the new size with the price match hehe

this definitely sounds like an SA problem. I've never had an issue exchanging something I got PM'd on line. Even was able to exchange for another color w/o any issues!
Nords CS is THAT good ...IMO

Need your advice. I just placed an online order for shoes with NOrdstrom in hope that I can price match the same style, color and size with 6pm.com. I had a live chat and the representative told me that they don't do price match with 6pm.com since they are an outlet site.

Has anyone ever successfully done that before? Any Advice?
Thanks.

Reading through the "Uggs Deals" thread in Deals & Steals will give you lots of tips on Nordies PMing.
The "outlet site" response as a reason for denying a PM doesn't make sense. 6pm.com is an authorized on-line retailer for the products that are being sold. It is an "outlet" for Zappos, as Last Call and CUSP are to Neiman Marcus, Off 5th is to Saks, Nordstrom Rack is to Nordstroms. HTHs - good luck!

ITA^^ that has been my experience as well. That is why I always prefer to check if I can purchase my on-line products through Nordies first via price match.:D

Funny thing was the SA was okay but she was confused when there was a PM and she asked the manager... It was the manager that was giving me the problem.

But, I finally got it and it was okay. It is just strange how some SA's/Manager's are so good and others aren't. Oh well...

(I know there are a handful of threads open pertaining to Nordstrom & price matching. However, I read through them and there was no discussion of price matching process.)

I have a question about the price matching process at Nordstrom. What is the usual process with LiveChat?

On New Years Day, I went on Nordstrom.com's LiveChat and asked for a price match on a pair of boots on Dillards.com (The infamous 1-day New Years Day Sale). The 1st SA okayed the price match and then told me I could either 1) call to place the order or 2) place the order online and then come back on LiveChat and get a price adjustment with another SA. I picked option #2 & the second LiveChat SA wasn't very forthcoming with the price match. She told me that she would wait & watch my order for a week until it shipped to give me a price match because she didn't want to alter my order and run the risk of having it cancelled from being sold out. This was at 5:30am West Coast time, the boots were available in every size on both Nordstrom & Dillards, and I had placed my original order at 5:20am. I had to flat out tell her that I was willing to risk losing out on the boots to get a price adjustment and then it only took her 1 minute fix everything.

Have you ever had a similar scenario with a Nordstrom SA online? Do you think the second SA was just giving me a hard time?

I've never had either of these scenarios presented while trying to PM.

Why didn't you choose option 1 since you were already in a live-chat? that would avoided any confusion with the next chat rep.

Yes, the rep was giving you a hard time. The next time you feel that you are being given a hard time, ask to speak with a supervisor. That usually gets things rolling in the right direction.

I had nordstrom PM a Valentino bag for me yesterday and the lady was kinda pissy about it. I guess they just don't like doing it for some reason even though it's their policy to?
