my nordstrom has pretty much stopped matching. i asked for a match on juicy charms and they said they don't do it anymore. so i buy them from juicy now, because with the friends and family and all, it's a better deal.

See this is a problem. Clearly it states on Nordies website that they pricematch (and it applies to in-store purchases as well). I'd take it up w/management. Because it shouldn't vary from store-to-store.

I was there yesterday to get some Lingerie. Lord & Taylor was having a promo, I told my SA, she called to verify and voila - pricematch, no problem. She even told me long time ago, that if I see something lower, bring in a printout or they can call to verify. And I've been pricematching since - in every department from shoes to beauty to intimates.

uwhuskygirl - they CANNOT pricematch for an item that isn't carried by the competitor, because how can they verify? Tha't like asking McDonalds to pricematch a Whopper - LOL...

Sooooo
They should do it
Here's my story:
My bf saw some sneakers at Nordstrom rack for $50 but they had every size except his. We went to Nordstrom down the street and saw the same sneakers. I asked about price matching (I used to work at Nordstrom and I remember them telling me customer is always right) but the guy asked his manager and she said NO because Nordstrom rack carries factory seconds or something. I was angry so I called the number on nordstrom.com. She was super nice and believed my price on the shoes. Then she called my local nordstrom and spoke to another SA and told me to go back in and I can get the shoes for the price I saw at the rack. Simple, call 1-888-282-6060, tell them the price and they can even call your store if you want to buy it there!

FYI:
This is what the website says:

Did you know…
You'll never pay more. At Nordstrom, we are committed to offering you the best possible prices. If you ever find one of our items priced lower somewhere else, please call 1-888-282-6060 and we will gladly meet that price.

So if your store denies you, I would call the number and make them do it =)

^ It may have worked for you, but I find the ppl live at the nord number can be pretty strict. They're told they can only price match IN STOCK items for the same size and brand. You can ask that the rep bring it to a supervisor's attention, but even then, the supervisor reinforces the policy.

Occasionally, if you "shop around" for representatives, you may luck out and someone will price match (for ex) a pr of shoes in a sz 6...when the website you're price matching against clearly is sold out of the sz 6.

Frankly, it makes sense for nord to only price match the same style and size because if it didn't, you could take your business to the store/website offering the better deal. However, if you're looking for a sz 6 shoe, and nord still has it for $100, yet the other site has it for $75, but only in sz 10 avail, then what incentive does nord have for price matching? It doesn't. You couldn't fit a sz 10 shoe, nor would you buy it off the competitor's site so why would nord price match that sz 6 shoe to $70?

Oops, I meant $75, and it's too late to edit my original post. :p

Nordstroms just did a price match for me for a pair of boots that I saw on another web site for about $40.00 less, and they did not have my size in stock. I did it on-line, and they credited my account for the difference without any problem. I was quite impressed!

Just got off the live chat. I saw a pair of pants at the designer's website, but the customer service rep on the live chat said they "don't price match percentages or coupons from other stores." This really irks me because I've used a bloomie's coupon there numerous times. I am a loyal nordy's shopper, but I'm starting to get annoyed because I know I can find many of their items elsewhere for much less!

I really don't bother with Nordstrom's price matching anymore. It's not worth making the case. They've made it so hit and miss I just buy from the other retailer. And the more I buy from other retailers, the more they send me coupons and such. I like Nordstrom but when it comes to the price matching, for the most part it's not worth the battle.

Here's my recent experience: I wanted to get a Michele watch, and saw it for $300 less at an online store, so I went to my local Nordie's and asked if they would match (and I brought a printout of the online store's lower price). Both the SA at the watch counter and Customer Service said they would only match if it were another brick-and-mortar store offering the deal. So I called Nordstrom.com's 800 number, and asked if they would match the online store price. They did, and I got the watch in the mail and took it to my local store to get the size adjusted. The shady thing is that the SA I originally dealt with actually adjusted the sale, switching it from its online receipt to an in-store receipt for "my convenience." That sort of annoyed me, because I got the feeling that he did that to get credit for the sale—and he refused to help me in the first place with matching the price.

I WANTED A wINTER kATE CARDIGAN, GO IT AT NORDSTROMS FOR SAME PRICE AS BLOOMINGDALES, WITH 20% F&F.
fIRST I called online and they said no problem, but I called a store and they said no problem, did not check and sent it to me with no shipping!

I received the cardigan, and it went on sale $6 LESS, CALLED NORDSTROMS ONLINE AND THEY CREDITED MY VISA -I LOVE THEM
oh, and loved the cardigan:yahoo:

Hi everybody. I just need to tell you about an experience I had at Nordstrom's yesterday. Something I never encountered before.

I got my niece a pair of Uggs for Christmas (short black size 9). I got them when fleecefootware.com was having their 15% off sale and Nordstrom.com price matched for me. Well, when she opened the box on Christmas, keep in mind they were never opened as the insert was still in each shoe and they were in their plastic bags, on the the top of the one boot there was a round mark that looked like it was faded. So, yesterday my niece came over and we went to Nordstrom's to do an exchange. I had such a problem getting them to accept the price match. The manager didn't want to do it - I kept saying that it was just an EXCHANGE for same size, same color but there was something wrong with the one boot. She argued with me that they weren't allowed to honor price matching on exchanges. I had never heard such a thing. She finally did let the price match go through; I am glad she did because I was about to ask for the store manager at that point.

And, the funny thing was my niece got her boyfriend a pair of slippers using the price match and they were too small. The SA had no problem honoring the price match - did it with no questions asked.

Has anybody else ever encountered a problem - I have never had this happen to me before.

Maybe it is my fault that I should have checked but I guess I wasn't thinking and saw they were brand new.
