I purchased this potiron Bolide without a strap. It was rather hard to find webbing that was the right color. I was on a trip and walked into a fabric store and found what I needed to my extreme surprise! They had the hardware as well. I took it all to my local shoemaker and he copied my Evelyne strap and here is the result. I am very pleased with it:smile1:

Wonderful match - congrats!

ahgoo - do they have other colors available? I'd love a canvas strap for my Rouge H Kelly but the red strap I see on their website is very bright. I'm wondering if they have additional colors either for the strap or for the leather pieces that attach to the end. Thank you!!

Hi Jyyanks,

Contact them to see as you never know - they will email color sample. My canvas webbing and leather-end color wasn't listed but yet they have that option. Alternative could be sourcing from Mautto or as previous poster did in locating canvas strap from local stores.

I also saw one previous post with a contrast webbing and leather ends to add interest which could be an attractive option as well if a perfect match is not available.

Congrats, Gracekelly! Perfect match!

What a perfectly beautiful match to your gorgeous potiron Bolide! I love that color,
such a special hue! You have wonderful "color sense"! Congratulations! Job well
done!

Thank you ahgoo! I think the contrast webbing is a great idea. Hopefully they have leather that matches and I can order a khaki strap like you did. Thanks for the idea!

I bought a beautiful vintage (1976) Rouge H Box Kelly. I ordered a 3/4" strap from Mautto in "Deep Cranberry". It's a perfect match with the color of my Kelly. I'm thrilled!

So glad to hear you're thrilled with the color match! I have a rouge h box bolide from 2003 that I want to order a strap for, but I'm still deciding between deep cranberry and fire brick. I'll post pics here and I'd love everyone's input on which color I should order. :smile1:

I ordered leather samples from Mautto to get a strap made for my 2003 Rouge H Box Bolide. However, even after looking at them next to my bag for several days, I still am not 100% sure which color I should order. Sometimes one looks like a better match than the other, then vice versa depending on the light and the angle.

I'd love everyone's vote on this. Which one do you think is a better match...left or right? :smile1:

I would say left.

Left I think. By the way, for my Rouge H bolide, I ordered Deep Cranberry and it was a perfect match.

I would say left.

The shade is closer on the right but the shine and texture is off. The left is better because it doesn't hv the weird shine.

Thank you all for your feedback! I am also thinking the left is better even simply because it is a smooth leather like box vs. the wrinkly leather on the right. The left is Deep Cranberry and the right is Fire Brick, for future reference. I just wish there was a leather color somewhere in between these two, which I think would be a 100% perfect match.

ahgoo, maybe when I get the actual strap it will be a better match than the sample. I hope so because I read that others besides you thought Deep Cranberry was a perfect match to their Rouge H bolide.
