Non-H Shoulder Strap Success

so, my favorite bag to carry is a Gucci Dionysus hobo with a canvas strap, which I wear crossbody. I love it because it is so easy and hands-free. I would love to do that with my Kelly--especially for a little vacation next month.

I'm looking at purchasing a canvas strap--maybe from Mautto. But, in the meantime, I thought I would just see how this looks. It isn't my favorite, but until a new strap comes in? I would love opinions from Hermes experts because I definitely am not one. This is my only Hermes, and it has been sitting in its box for 3 years because it is kinda hard to carry and I haven't gotten used to it.

I think the Gucci strap looks great with the Kelly. Have you thought of ordering an Evelyne-style crossbody strap from Hermes?

I think it looks fabulous! You should definitely wear your Kelly more. It gets easier to use once you get used to it, in my experience.

I worry about damaging the leather on the handle when attaching a strap this way.

I think it looks great! If you can get a similar strap from Mautto with matching hardware that would be even better (correct me if I'm wrong but your Kelly looks gold and the strap silver) but this looks fab anyway.
From what I've read ordering a strap from Hermes could take anything from a year to never, so not a route I would go down personnally. They are bringing out/ have brought out (not sure) straps available to buy separately I believe but I think prices start from around €800!
I agree you should really use your beautiful Kelly, it does get easier

I like it, but honestly, I like your own strap better. Like catsinabag said, keep using the Kelly, it gets easier and easier.

Here's my strap from Mautto for my Evelyne III in Etoupe. I'm very petite, so carrying it crossbody is just too long and I prefer a shoulder carry anyway. I'm hoping it looks OK with it!

I like the strap, actually. I like southwest jewelry, etc. But on this bag? And the real kicker is if the gold hardware can coexist with silver...

I have found the Minkoff straps work well on the H bags. Just picked up 2 more on sale at NM. $47 each!

LOL! They are gone now I just looked. The rouge H one I bought several months ago is spot on for color with my rouge H box Kelly. I found that one on sale too. They are a good length for me to use cross body.
