Hi there - I'm wondering how you guys asked the SA to scan chip or what prompted them? I'm hoping to get a pre-loved item authenticated and trying to figure out my plan of attack - pretend I want a repair quote or just tell them the truth and risk a No.
Many thanks!!

The chips are fairly new. So unless it’s a very recent pre-loved bag, it may not have the chip. Stores/SA are not supposed to authenticate or otherwise even comment on if a bag may or may not be genuine. Unless you have an amazing relationship with an SA who would be willing to give their thoughts in a *hint hint wink wink* sort of way, you’re not likely to find help authenticating from the brand.

If the bag does have a chip, you should be able to just ask them to scan it as you’d like the info on your bag.

I've used an RFID app for my phone to scan the chip. It does not give me any usable information (chip and info is unique to the LV RFID scanner), but the reader does scan the chip and spit out some numbers. But at least I know a chip is in there.

Try downloading a scanner for your phone and go over your bag like crazy until it comes up.

Great info on the microchips! I read a few pages back but don’t think I came across this info. When LV scans it, does it tell them the product code as well? I remember seeing a CA scan it on IG but can’t seem to recall.

Although this might not matter a lot but it was an interesting thing I encountered a few weeks ago: The chips have been put in the items for much longer. I don‘t know since when exactly, but a bag I brought in for repair (which obviously also still had a physical „oldschool“ datecode) was scanned and I had bought it in early 2020 (it was manufactured at the end of 2019).

The scanned info by the way states the exact date and place of manufacture.

I am personally happy about this as I only buy from LV directly because I would be way too worried about fakes. This technology is a quick and very effective way for authentification if there is need for a repair (like with my item). Although of course all my purchases are stated within my purchase history it can still be a gift, for example, which will now not be a problem at all.
I do like to know when my items were made but that got even better now as well as I now know the exact „birthday“ of my bag after seeing the scan.

I accidentally discovered too that some year 2020 bags are already using microchip with the datecode. i tried using ngc tools on my mini palm spring purchased on in july year 2020. here is the picture below

Hello,

My case is the opposite. I got an offer for 1 LV toiletry bag 26 (rare & hard to find), when I saw there was a date code embossed inside the lining and when I checked the meaning of the date code it said that the LV bag was produced somewhere around July 2021, made in Spain.

So now I'm confused. Isn't it that if it's produced after March 2021, there's no longer a date code inside the lining? Why is this even there? I question its authenticity.

Has anyone here had an experience like this too? please advise, thank you
