Hi, Can someone please tell me where the microchips are in the LV bags? I have bought a new Madeleine MM and for the life of me can't find where it is. :flowers:

Any basic NFC app should work in detecting the presence of a chip. The info is gibberish to us but it will confirm the presence of a chip - any chip. So don’t rely on that to authenticat. Run your phone around the bag until it beeps and that will indicate the location. Info for LV is proprietary. If it is just the date you are curious about, it should be the first few numbers just below the QR code on the little stickers included in the bag. But if you bought directly from LV I wouldn’t stress about it. There are a lot of credibility issues with news sources that feed into the paranoia created by urban myth. I wouldn’t consider a website called pink villa a trusted news source. Just saying.

Thank you so much for all this information. It is much appreciated. I bought online from LV as we don't have an LV store in my city so I am not stressed. I was thinking it might have been a little plaque idea like Chanel now has and I was just wondering if it was meant to be the same with LV as I couldn't find anything and this was my first purchase without the date code. Thanks again.:flowers:

I feel the same way wanted to know - one time they were nice in store n did it another time they acted like I was asking for secret info lol… which is so strange considering it used to be in every bag for us to see lol

I believe the app is called “NFC TOOLS”
In App Store … just google the will prompt u to move around the object (bag) lol and I found mine pretty quick:smile:
Hope it work, report back if not fingers crossed
What info did it display on the SA's app? I am wondering if I will have issues taking in a resell bag that is chipped. Is it linked to the purchaser?

The bag is not linked to who purchased it, it is just to determine authenticity and from which batch the bag was so if there are any issues they’re easily identified.

Yes I would like to check out my chipped LV bags just for the fun of it as for me, it was fun just reading the tags. Lol. I downloaded NFC Tools on my Samsung Galaxy and I couldn't get it to work. I read reviews on the app that it works well with NFC stickers. Anyway I have an iPad mini and tried it with that as well, still no luck. Is there something I need to "turn on" in my phone settings? I did turn on the reader option in my phone settings but it still it did not work.

Any information you can extract from the chip will be useless unless you‘re a LV employee as they have the blockchain protected app.

Spacing?? Here is a picture of the date code on a speedy damier 25 that I am thinking of purchasing. Any thoughts with the space?

My friend has the same bag. She purchased hers new at the LV Boutique. I'll have her look at hers and let you know as soon as she gets back to me, which Im sure will be today.

My friend just got back to me. She purchased hers in Feb of 2022 so she has no date code, she looked. I think they stopped date codes in 2020. Is that correct that they stopped in 2020? Just curious. Thanks.
