Thanks! Great to know, I will try that. I just hope I can establish a relationship with an SA there without spending so much money. Do you happen to know anyone at the BH store? Not sure I want to buy preowned. Everybody on eBay overcharges for the bag. It is ridiculous.
no sorry i can't remember the SA's name. that's why people on ebay can charge so much for a bag, because of the trouble in getting a bag from a store. even used ones go for over retail or about retail. you're paying a few extra thousand to get to choose what you want and not play the games.

Have you gone in and spoken to a SA yet? Everything said here about what may or may not happen is irrelevant as each customer/situation is different. So even if we say, "go to this SA and ask this", if they say the wait list is closed, or say it is 2 years, or they take your request and toss it out versus actually remember it is totally out of our control, unfortunately. 25cm is very rare as it is, so the chance of a boutique having a 25cm, and not offering it to an existing, high-spending regular client who expressed interest is low.

it is hard to hear, but the amount a 25cm costs plus the amount you may have to spend at BH to be offered any B, let alone a 25cm in your ideal color, may work out to less $ than a reseller price. Don't rule them all out-- some that are pristine but previously owned pop up for reasonable prices once in awhile. It takes patience, but since you have time anyway, why not browse around the next couple months?

Yes, this....!

Thanks. I plan on going to an H store before the year ends and see what happens. I may or may not buy something there. If I happen to buy something, I'll try to keep in touch with an SA see if I can be put on a waiting list for a 25 next year.

No I have not spoken to an SA yet. My DF called the store and asked if they'll put you on a waiting list if you walked in and the SA just said that they can't discuss it over the phone. Oh well. If I can't get a 25, I'd get a JPG on eBay or Yoogi's as that's another bag I want. People on eBay and Yoogi's are selling it for great prices way below retail from brand new, mint, to great condition. I also need a shoulder bag anyways and always loved the way the JPG look. I see those pop up often. I do plan on sending it to an Hermes spa. That'll be a for sure way to know it's authentic? Of course I'm going to get it authenticated here.

Thanks for all your help I appreciate it all.

Yoogi's Closet is based in Seattle. They will charge you 9.5% sales tax no matter where you are. A lot of ebay sellers are not going to sell you a B or K below retail unless the condition is not like new i.e. color loss on handles and scuffs at corners. There is no way unless you head to FSH that there may be a chance for a walk-in customer to score a B or K, just because it is catered for tourists. You probably read the other thread about the experience of many TPFers in the mothership store. Good luck !! If you want to move to the H family, get used to the games that H play. It is the way it is and is also their strategy to keep the demand high and hold up the prices. Otherise, they will be another LV or Prada. Would you want your investment to have a high depreciation like a car or would you prefer to be patient and get the holy grail bag that will hold its value for a very long time ? Your call.

I personally don't mind going to resellers for used and brand new H items since I don't have to wait and I get the choice of the colors. People complain about the markup from the resellers but if you think of all the other items you've to purchase to build a relationship, it is worth saving the time and go the resellers' route. Don't forget that after spending a few $K, you've just increased your chances of being offered the bag but there is no guarantee. Some SAs will continue to lead you on and get you to buy more. Only they know where you're in the queue of their customers. He/She may have 5-6 customers that are in the process of building the relationship that are ahead of you. With the limited amount of B & Ks available each quarter, think of your chance to ever score one.

With all the reveals that I've seen here, many of the new customers to H have thrown in quite a few bucks before they ever score one. You mentioned that you want a 25cm B. Most stores order only 30 or 35 so 25 has to be special order at the podium by the SM.

Thanks. I am planning on going for the reseller route. They have JPGs in great prices and I have seen them for below retail although not by much in great or mint condition trust me. The ones that have scuffs and stuff are of course lower, but I would not mind if the price is right and overall condition is good (not mint or brand new I mean). I just want to say that Yoogi's does not charge sales tax unless you're located in their state. I bought stuff from them before and I just checked the FAQs and it said the same thing.

Have you bought any Bs from resellers before?

I've bought several Kellys from resellers and they are authentic and very nice.

This thread has really wandered off-topic from the OPs post about the rule changing in terms of walk-ins being able to buy Birkins or Kelly.

Lightdays, please check the many many threads for how to buy a bag, Ebay, resellers, etc, and feel free to contribute there. We look forward to your reveal!

Thanks, everyone.

I tried "walk-in" to buy B in Gold Coast last month~ I spent like AUD $8000+ on the jewelry and shoes~ but they said they dont have any birkins. (I even spent $300 on the air ticket! )Bad luck!
However i get a birkin in Sydney store last week which i ordered like 1.5 yrs ago~~what a life! ~~I shouldn't go to Gold Coast :(
