new rule - no Kelly or birkin to walk ins??

I live in NYC and went into the Madison Ave shop two weeks ago and bought a MM Picotin in Etoupe (my first Hermes handbag). Of course now I have the Birkin itch. So I called my SA and told her I wanted to buy a Birkin, and asked if she had any available. She was actually really nice and helpful when I bought the Picotin, and was again very sweet about my Birkin inquiry.
She said she wasn't sure what the inventory was because she "hadn't been to the backroom" to check stock, but suggested that I come in to the store and she would check for me then. She also noted that I would have to be "approved" - which she explained was just a quick check to confirm that I had not purchased a Birkin in the last 6 months. We ended the call with her saying "I'd love to sell you a Birkin!".
Fingers crossed, although I'm still trolling online for a pre-loved Birkin

My husband just walked in an hour ago to the Hermes store at the Bellagio Las Vegas and was offered a 25 cm black crocodile Birkin! I declined it as it was too small for me. We live in Nashville and I'm sending him to hit all three Hermes stores in Las Vegas with my wish list in hand.

WOW Croc birkin! I went to vegas last december in encore and they said they do not have any K and B at that moment.

Is this new rule of 1 birkin every 6 months per person? I just got a birkin 30cm last week and was hoping to find a 35cm next week when we go to Hawaii. Can I have my DH buy for me or will they know because of the address?
if they have it and they don't look at your history, then you can buy it. if they look at your history and invoke the 1 per season rule, then have your husband buy it. some SA's even suggest having hubby buy to circumvent the rule.
DH was on business trip in the US & spent the weekend driving around & dropped by an H boutique in another state! Yup at least 2hrs from the hotel. He wanted to surprised me some H accessories. It was his first time there. He was shown with 4-5 bags but all in PHW. He told SA I love GHW. After a few chit chat, SA said they may have something I won't resist! That's the Club Birkin 35 with Lizard straps in graphite/etain/gris foncé. I was on the phone not being able to see IRL. But DH said it really took his breath away too! Just stunning! SA even talked to me on the phone that I should get as it's very limited. But....35 is too big for me! Hope DH & I are lucky next time to find something fit me! The best part is that DH enjoyed his first H boutique visit alone!
Wall Street has specifically nixed this idea -- and for a very good, long time customer friend of mine.
