Hi everyone! I had the chance to ask over the phone when placing an order today. I was told VCA is phasing out travel pouches. Now you have the option to receive the hard jewelry box or the soft jewelry pouch with your purchase. Personally, I never use my travel pouches so I prefer the hard jewelry box. I hope that helps!

I heard something very similar in that travel pouches are being phased out for the time being. However, if there is enough negative client feedback about the change in packaging and missing travel pouches, then they might re-evaluate this whole presentation accoutrement issue.

For now, they are just quoting limited supply on the travel pouches and seeing how much pushback they get. They are also giving whatever pouch varieties what they have remaining in stock- even if it's not an exact match for your "creation". Didn't think getting a pouch for my piece would become such a quest...

Can someone explain the difference between a travel pouch and soft pouch? I went to paris this past june and bought a pendant and they gave me a little green pouch with a snap button closure with a little square board inside with 2 slits for the two ends of the necklace, i would call that a travel pouch…. I thought the only two options were travel pouch and green box?

I just emailed Van Cleef at the contact link to complain about this. This is what i wrote: Hello, I purchased a vintage Alhambra pendant this June (2023) and did not receive a green box or cleaning cloth with my purchase— things that I thought came standard with a purchase. I only received a green pouch. I know others who are saying they only got a box and not the pouch. Apparently this is part of the new packaging policy Van Cleef is implementing, but I would like to express my disappointment in the new packaging. For a luxury purchase I expect the packaging to be luxurious as well. For me, a flimsy faux velvet pouch did not feel luxurious. Providing the box as well as the pouch for travel does. The new “eco friendly” packaging is not as nice as the old packaging and it incentivizes people to buy second hand, or from resellers, who received the box and the pouch when they bought the piece before this new policy was implemented. I feel both the pouch and box should be available if requested. Packaging and presentation is part of the buying experience and is important to me. In the past I know people who have gotten the box and several pouches with their purchase. Now prices are higher and customers are only getting one or the other and it is very disappointing.

Was Van Cleef responsive to those that reached out to them via emai?
Yes! I was told by the online representative when I contacted them via email, as recommended here, that there is a limited number of travel pouches available, but that they could send me one. I received the old packaging at the Forum Shops location in Las Vegas; they had no travel pouches when I asked my regular SA. My travel pouch was sent promptly and I could even track it! Not sure if the “limited number” is a line they have to give you, but it’s worth reaching out to the online support email to inquire.

Omg i clicked reply on the wrong thing and i dont know how to fix it. I emailed van cleef at a general email at the bottom of their website to complain. They gave me a canned response that its for the environment but will pass on my feedback. They did not offer to send any travel pouch or box or anything.

Did you specifically ask for a travel pouch or were you just expressing dissatisfaction with the new packaging in general?

I read on this thread that customers emailed online CS to ask for a pouch, so that’s what I did. While I am not happy with how VCA is handling this, I figured it best to simply ask online for the pouch and hope for the best. I did express concerns to my SA, albeit only after asking for the pouch and being told there was non in store. Maybe give it a few weeks and try again, this time simply asking for the pouch?

I have 10 VCA pieces, all purchased directly from Van Cleef. I received my first ever cleaning cloth last month, with my 10th purchase. I was clueless about a VCA cleaning cloth all this time  .

I did not receive a travel pouch with my purchase this time, but I did request one. I was also told they are not in stock.

I’ve never received a cleaning cloth either.
