New packaging

Really dont know what to think about so many contradictory posts about “old” and “new” eco friendly packaging. I now think they will continue to transition to the new ones but still produce some hard boxes for people that prefer them.
Today with my Roses de Noël I got a hard box (I usually decline for soft pouches as I get too many hard boxes and cannot store all of that ). But my SA explained that for this specific ones you have to get a rigid box so that the earrings don’t move inside and get broken as they are fragile …
As for the travel pouches IMO it is a matter of your relationship with your SA. And as you get more and more purchases you get just so easily pouches. They had new travel pouches I discovered in October with a padded thin layer in the front part of the pouch -> it seems to protect better the jewelry inside

I purchased two pendants in the last month and both came in the traditional hard box. No mention of the new packaging, no option to choose between the two types of packaging. No discussion on packaging at all. I received a travel pouch with the first purchase (the larger flap style with two snaps; I would have preferred the small single snap, but was not about to complain given everything that’s been written here!). I also got the new cleaning kit with both purchases. I’ve never received a cleaning cloth/kit before; these were my fourth and fifth VCA purchases. I have two of the older style cloths, but got both of them on the resale market. I also have several single snap pouches, mostly the smaller size, but only one was tied to a VCA boutique purchase - and I had to contact customer service to get it because the store claimed not to have any (this was spring/summer 2023). I was told at the time that they had a limited number remaining, but would send me one.

Agree with @spaul that it’s so inconsistent! Would really love to get to ground truth.

When I collected the clover bangle in Jul this year, I got the hard box, travel pouch and the cleaning cloth. This was my third purchase with the same SA. I only got the hard box for my previous two purchases made in 2022.

I guess Probably depends on various factors like availability of stocks, SA's relationship etc.

I purchased earrings online expecting only the travel pouch based on what I’ve seen people say but got the box, pouch and cleaning kit. It was my first purchase online if that makes a difference - previous purchases were many years ago when it was inside Neiman Marcus but now has a standalone store in my city.

I did not ask for any specific packaging but this time my SA gave me a nice green box, travel pouch, cleaning kit, a book, chocolate and certificate. She said they were out of the care/instruction booklet.
