I got my magic pendant last summer and the SA sent it in a pouch, which I didn't mind, so I never asked for the box. last week when I got my vintage pendant, I brought in my magic pendant to see how the two would pair, and that SA offered me a box for my magic pendant after seeing my little pouch lol.

although I didnt mind the pouch at first, it does make a huge difference in the way I store all of my vca pieces.

Reviving this thread because I’m curious if VCA has changed its mind on this? I purchased a Vintage Alhambra pendant yesterday and was given the traditional hard box. The SA also gave me a travel pouch and a cleaning kit, all without me asking! Oh, and some chocolates while I waited for him to wrap up my purchase. I don’t usually shop in my local boutique, but yesterday’s experience makes me want to go back next time I’m in the market for a piece. They operate largely on an appointment system, but I managed a walk-in on a Saturday and was helped pretty quickly. Granted, I made it clear I was there for a specific item, but it still took close to 30 minutes start to finish, so it wasn’t like I was in and out.

I was wondering that too cause at different occasions I wasn't asked and just got both... I thought I was special or something like it was a hook up but them reversing the policy makes more sense 😂

I'm glad you had a nice experience! It would be nice if they reversed their ridiculous policy on the packaging, it was so not luxurious

Yeah, since last year I've had multiple SA's told me corporate is reverting back to the original/old packaging instead of the eco-friendly ones because they received a lot of complaints from their established clients, understandably so. The eco-friendly packaging is now offer as an option, but really depending on what packaging they have available when you make the purchase, if you lean one option over the other, or want both, If one option isn't available, you can always let your SA know so he/she can get you one when they receive more shipments. They always give free travel pouch when you send in your jewelry pieces for service so I'm not too concerned about the travel pouches.

I entered the VCA world just two days ago, and it was an eye opening experience.

Anyway, while trying to learn more about VCA I stumbled upon this thread and wanted to share. The bracelet I decided on was in stock, so I was able to receive it right away.

Came in a green box with inner black velvet platform to hold the bracelet, and also the same inner black velvet lid-side that has Van Cleef writing on it.

I was able to choose between the box and travel pouch when I purchased it in Korea a few days ago. I asked for a travel pouch but they didn’t have any available - just wondering if this is the norm? They were however able to accommodate my request for a cleaning kit.

When I purchased my x-large perlee RG earrings at the boutique the SA told the gentlemen who was going to box it up to put the earrings into a travel pouch and not give me the oversized box. I was on the fence at that time about what she did and how I was not given the box, nor consulted about what packaging I would want. It was at that time I knew I would decide eventually whether I would use this SA again. The earrings without a proper box in the pouch look so bad - I am disgusted and disappointed in myself that I let this happen - no one to blame but myself.

Can you contact the SA and ask for the proper box? It’s not inappropriate to at least ask -

I thought the rule changed? I was asked to pick last year but this year I wasn't asked and was always given both + now they have the brush cleaning kit 😁 that I was told is 1 set for life

That's what I was told on my most recent purchase - one cleaning kit per customer. I got regular boxes and travel pouches for both items I bought that day. Although it is nice to get the presentation boxes, they take up a lot of space and I prefer the travel pouches for my at home storage.

Agree! I love the packaging but it's literally taking up space unopened (empty inside) lol
