New packaging

I am not sure why this new packaging has me so worked up. I hate it.
Agree. It puts me off buying any more VCA to be honest. Even though it’s such a small part of the experience, it still makes me feel like it reveals something about the brand if that makes sense. It’s like going on a first date and the guy won’t pay for your latte lol.

It doesn’t look very luxurious to me. But, I don’t really care one way or the other since I find the travel pouch cumbersome. I do wish, if VCA were trying to be a bit more environmentally conscious that they would stop sending those catalogs printed like books.
And holiday gifts in giant hat boxes that go in the garbage. I rather get my box and travel pouch with my purchase than catalogs, books, and fancy over the top gift boxes.

Ugh for real...and the guy would gaslight you by saying, 'I don't want to offend you since you seem to be such a strong, independent woman that prefer to pay for your own latte" :hrmm:

Sharing the packaging that my online order of sweet alhambra pave earrings just came in. I actually like this box much better than the grey velvet. I always felt the velvet box was too heavy and the top cover too flimsy and prone to tearing at the corners if you weren't super careful opening and closing the box. The velvet also picks up every smudge and fingerprint and I hated dealing with the shredded paper filler. This box is perhaps not as luxe at first glance but the inside design is genius with a large ribbon securing the box to the bottom and then the certificate, receipt, etc. inside their own box on an upper "shelf". Much less wasteful in materials.

Same velvet case, box, paper and ribbon for the earrings. No travel pouch but that's fine for me as I have extras from when the SA's were more generous with them.

I was so bummed about the new packaging for their e-boutique my kids loved using those velvet boxes!

It's the we're being cheap on your account but pretending it's for eco friendly reasons, when it will have barely any value.
It's the what else are you cheapening out on ?
It's the why doesn't this luxury purchase feel all that luxurious, etc.
Seriously, luxury is luxury. I think my jaw-dropped when I heard about “going green”, really no travel pouch or cleaning cloth either?!

If they care about the environment so much, why force customers to buy random crap in order to be offered a "wishlist" item?
You are thinking of Hermes, I believe? VCA is looking in that direction, but we are not there yet thankfully. It is generally possible to buy whatever you want from VCA as long as it is available and not an extremely limited item.

Whenever I tried to buy the two items i want from them (malachalite earrings and a hammered yellow gold bracelet), I've been told they're wishlist pieces. I don't have money to buy stuff I don't like, and I don't have time to resell the things I don't want. It's super annoying

That’s so strange, the SAs told you this? They are standard collection pieces and should be available, and generally they will allow you to put down a deposit to order it. The hammered has been very popular as of late so I can understand a bit of the scarcity but if you’re set on these pieces and are located in the US you may want to try contacting the online customer service for them to locate these pieces for you if your local boutique doesn’t have them in stock.
