New Chanel Purchase Limit Policy

So the day of the launch only high tier shoppers can have their purchases shipped???? Seven days later everyone else can have merchandise shipped?

My boutique made the exception to ship classics that were reserved during buy for 22a, but if I change my mind on my reserve and want a different classics then they cannot ship.

They can still ship SLGs and all other items at launch.

This definitely came as a last minute surprise - seems like the stores are trying to navigate all the new restrictions as well

For me slgs wasn't shipped. I reserved with an appointment and had to go into the store to purchase.

Confirmed by my US SA: classics limited to 2/year applies retroactively (so if you already purchased any combo of 2 cf, mini, 2.55, or mini with top handle), you’re done for the year.
The one bag/month (any bag, tote, 22, C19, etc) still applies too.
Don’t know if this is specific to stand alone boutiques. I guess C wants me to spend my $$$ elsewhere.:blah:

Weird how the rules are differenty depending on who and where.

Mine told me max is 2 timeless classics (doesn’t matter what size) a year, 4 max if it’s the 2.55 (size doesn’t matter). But you can get up to 6 2.55 a year if you don’t buy the timeless classic. The reverse does not hold true. So to me, this store is treating the 2.55 flap as a regular bag (boy, 19,22 etc…). I’m allowed 6 Chanel bags a year but am only allowed to purchase 1 bag per month.

I'm just going to post this here. This is from a Saks Sa. Some information I haven't read yet on this thread. Like the post above mine just mentioned how the rules vary from one store to another store. Chanel needs to get their act together.

Thanks for the info. My Saks SA said the same thing. But my NM SA said they can still ship costume jewelries and slg’s :/.

I'd really hate for SLGs to be in-store only. My SA left early this year, and I dont have a local SA that I clicked since then :/

I forget - is there a limit on how many SLGs you can buy? If not, wouldn't this only help the resellers?

Yes there's a limit for slgs. For the U. S. one slg per month. I just blew my quota for the month. Right now I'm still trying to figure out this contradictory policy. Right now I haven't heard anything from Bloomingdale's Chanel if the policy is similar to Saks. The stand alone boutique only reserved the day of launch with a confirmed appointment and still wouldn't let me pay by link and pick up in store. Right now for me I might as well as start looking for items after the seven days are up. At least I know I should be able to get shipping. Then there's the craziest of this policy is you would have to have shopped in the store first to be eligible for shipping. Not good if this is a out of state purchase.

Honestly- this is just all bonkers- a disorganized mess! Note sure what Chanel is really trying to achieve here…but they are for sure driving demand to resellers. I can not participate in these stupid games. It’s a BAG! I don’t want to wear the fashion, because to me (IMO) Chanel clothing ages everyone (mere mortals walking down the street) by 30 years. I’m already not 30- I don’t need to throw on Chanel to prove it!!! Anyway, I will now just look to the couple of trusted resellers I know and pay their prices so I don’t need to beg Chanel to sell me a bag?

This may be an unpopular opinion, and I know the new limits aren't liked by many, but it was nice to go to the boutique a few days after launch and actually have eye candy to browse through. I saw pretty much all the bags that are in this collection. Got to see all the CFs, and they weren't already reserved. It's been quite a while since items weren't already sold out before hitting the floor. I'm already at my CF limit for this year, but it allowed me to take a look at some seasonal pieces and also take my discretionary spending fund to Tiffany....to my DH's dismay, lol

In pre-covid times (during Karl era) there were no limits on classics and yet I've never had to reserve the seasonal bag and would always get the one I wanted. I would see someone post a photo here or IG after the launch, I'd go to the store to check it out and if I'd like it, I'd buy it.

So I'm not sure why we can't we go back to those times (and prices ).
