Neverfull drama!

I still don't get why some women need to bring others down. Who cares?! They don't affect you. Just like the playboy model posting a naked pic of a woman at the gym. Wth?! Should be bringing each other up not down! I've got so much more to worry above than others appearances!

I personally don't care what others carry. I carry for me and only me. I don't care if I'm in a line and all in front and back of me have a NF. LV NF or Speedy isn't for those who want exclusivity. Try Hermes or something to stand out I guess.

I'll try to make this rant short... Yesterday I was at the international mall in Tampa fl... I literally counted 30+ Neverfulls, and I lost track of how many speedy' sand other LV bags [emoji20]

The range of women were from business women, soccer moms, young single girls, and a staggering amount of trash (idk how else to describe it, but everyone has an idea of what trash looks like)... Anyways it got so bad that even my husband stated to point them out.

I've always loved the Neverfull, my casual kinda throw around bag, but after yesterday I kind of want to sell it. I've heard it referred to as "the basic b*tch bag", which has always bothered me because 1000$ for a bag is anything but basic in my opinion, I work damn hard for my bags [emoji58] & YouTube hasn't helped at all!!

I know I'm all over the place, I'm just trying to express my annoyance, it's hard for me to enjoy LV at all anymore because it's everywhere, and it clearly doesn't represent class anymore. My husband says to branch out into other brands, has anyone else done this for the same reason??

I left Louis Vuitton 2 years ago for partially the same reasons as you have listed above, but also because compared to the archive pieces my partner and I covet the quality of the bags in my opinion have went down. It's become a mass produced, overrun luxury brand that doesn't keep to its heritage. I will keep my old pieces, but I haven't purchased a new LV piece in 2 years. My go to now is Chanel and Goyard. If you love the idea of the Neverfull I would highly consider you to look into Goyard and Faure le Page. I've had my St. Louis for a year now, and have never picked my Neverfull GM back up.

Sadly when I walk past Louis Vuitton when I'm shopping in Orlando I don't even get excited anymore.....

Exclusivity is a thing of the past! People from all walks of life can "afford" everything from MK to Hermes! If you want exclusivity then you better become a designer and only design for yourself! I have Neverfull's in all 3 prints and I don't care if I saw prostitutes carrying them, I love them and will not be ruled and governed by what others have or wear! You'll run yourself crazy trying to fit into some illusion of what people should or should not carry because of who they are or what they look like.

I sympathize for you, OP. Everyone jumped on you, whether it was called for or not.

Though I might be one of those people you'd hate to see while I carry my Neverfull (and that's your right), I worked hard for my bag, it makes me happy, and it's such a great bag. I sometimes wear some pretty damn short shorts! But, I worked hard for my nice butt, it makes me happy, and it's such a great ass! But even if everyone else had a great rear end like mine, I would never sell it.
Classic!!!

@mrsinsyder Thanks for your opinion... The next time I'm walking next to a women with a dress so short and so sheer that even my 7year old niece can point out the color of her thong and bra I'll be sure to have my husband hold the door open for her, since she is obviously a princess.
Haven't read all the other comments and replies yet so I don't know if anyone has already stated this. I would be ashamed of my husband if he didn't open the door for another lady regardless of how she is dressed. It costs NOTHING to be kind.

I'll say this and leave it alone...I understand what you mean, it may have just come out a little iffy! :p But bags don't represent class, only the person carrying it can do that...class is a state of mind that can't be bought! With that said, Coach and MK suffered these same fates and I think that's because people have to be real clear about the reasons in which they buy a designer bag...do u buy it to appear wealthy, classy, above others or do you buy it simply because you love the brand and its history?!? If it's the latter and once you are absolutely clear on that, then you won't worry so much about who else has one! If it's the other reasons, then you will always have this problem! Hope this helps!

@applecidered I share your lack of love for the NF. But... just to clarify, Louis Vuitton bags have been "mass produced" for decades. Only the trunks and special pieces are made in the romanticized Louis Vuitton atelier in Asnières. However, mass production has nothing to do with the level of quality.

Here are some thoughts about this thread:

For many years now, the NF has been a huge success for Louis Vuitton, and with success comes a flooded market. What is one to do? I can't dump my iphone or my new beetle just because others own them!

It's interesting that OP bought a NF, and fell out of love with it once she saw it on people she does not want to be associated with or that she does not want to be identified with. Obviously, the people she encountered at the mall that day did not meet her expectations of whom should or should not be carrying a NF. Therefore, her own self-image was affected, she did not want to be "one of them." It goes back to the idea that we dress to signal that we belong to a tribe (the myth of "I dress for myself" is a total illusion), and nothing is more unsettling than seeing our "codes" adopted by other "tribes." Today, these codes---used to communicate our ideal self to the world around us---reside primarily in handbags, shoes, and accessories because even most wealthy people have adopted the fast-fashion menu for clothing (how often do you see a lady wearing a Zara dress with an expensive handbag and designer shoes? That's the new norm!).

And just a reminder OP: we are always someone else's "basic b*tch" !
Very well said, Fabuleux!!
