on both days at FSH, there was a tall, thin blonde woman who was kinda directing traffic in the bag section. however the SAs do notice when people come in and i thought they were very good about asking the next person when they were finished helping a client. (it also helps to make eye contact with one of them as they are working with a client.)
I was in FSH on the saturday that just passed... 5th march to be exact... there was no queue system if u wanna purchase/enquiry about bags.. there were lotsa of birkin and kellys being shown to customers as they specially brought in more to cater to Paris Fashion Week crowd...
Numb, how exciting! I can't decide whether to going to FSH during Fashion Week is a good strategy or a bad strategy. On the one hand, there is obviously more stock available. On the other hand, would they give me a Birkin or reserve it for the fashionistas in town for Fashion Week? Were they selling the Birkins and Kellys to to "normal" people?
Laz0409, I was standing right in front of the computer system and I could see all the stocks they had when I asked if they had any 30/35 birkin or 32 kelly. That was 1030am in the morning and they only had 28 sellier chocolate kelly, 2 gold shoulder kelly (i purchased one of them 
). They had a 35cm birkin but that's exotic leather with diamond straps.
I ended up with the shoulder kelly as the 2 French SA convinced me i look chic & modern with it. I tried on the sample 32 kelly and it looked "too traditional" according to them.
Anyway, I paid for it and told them that I would go back to collect the bag before they closed for the day. I went back at 4pm and whilst waiting to pick up my shoulder kelly, I spotted another SA and I asked him if there were any birkins. He said they received some in the afternoon, but mostly were gone but still he searched for it in the system. Again I was standing right in front of the computer so I could see all the stocks available. He then said there's a black & gold 30 birkin and came back with the black one, he said he couldn't find the gold one and presumed it could have been shown to someone else and if its not being sold, he will bring it for me. True enough, there was a customer trying the latter next to our show desk! Also noticed some others inspecting a Kelly Relax and a 40 Birkin...
But alas, a 35 is what am after. The 30 just looks too dainty on me even though am only 5'1 and weighs 92 pounds. I just can't carry small bags well!
Initially I was worried about the fashion week situation just like you. But am glad I made the trip and I have nothing but praise for the SA(s) in FSH. Am a first time Hermes owner and being asian, am really impress with the level of service I was given. As to your question if they were selling it to "normal people", lol, I think I made a very good example of being a mere mortal! I was just wearing a black coat, nothing flashy and carrying no bag but came out with one!
Lastly I do wanna add...contrary to what I read from here, I wasn't given much or rather any attention in George V! I did drop by at around 1ish... The store wasn't very busy and I asked to see the Hapi bracelet and was told by a female SA to go to the glass counter and she would be with me shortly... I waited for about 5min, and she was nowhere to be seen when I looked around! Nobody came to offer any assistance too so I walked off.

Numb, thanks so much for the info! It is really helpful. I am moving to London in September and planning on going to Paris for the day via the Eurostar for the sole purpose of going to FSH. I am going to go on a weekday before Fashion Week starts, but if I don't find anything I might go back during Fashion Week and try my luck then! Thanks again for the info, and congrats on your bag!
I was in Paris for 2 days in December. My goal during those 2 days was to score a birkin 35 and see the monet exhibit at the grand palais (awesome!). I went to FSH as soon as I arrived, around 3pm. No one would help me in bags so went to look at belts. Had a nasty woman who claimed that they did not have one "H" belt, hard to believe. Then went back to bags. i was told that they never have birkins or kelps to sell, that they are pre ordered. From reading this wonderful forum, I knew that this wasn't the case and that persistence was the key. I went straight to George V to try my luck there. At first I got the same story about all birkins being pre ordered. I went to scarves and my sister and I bought 4. After we purchased the scarves, I asked about the possibility of birkins being available over the next day and a half. At that point, i was told to come back in the morning and maybe I would get lucky. The next morning, I was at FSH when they opened. I got a nice SA who actually checked the computer, but alas, no birkin or Kelly. I went back to George V and the SA from the day before was not there but the manager remembered us and had another SA help us. I told her what I wanted and within a few minutes I was shown a 40 swift Rouge H PHW birkin and a vert Veronese 35 Togo PHW. The rouge H was a beauty, but too big. The VV was lovely but green is not me. The SA said she would hold the VV until i had a little time to decide. I went to the monet exhibit and returned to the store. The lovely SA saw me, smiled and came back with 2 big boxes! In addition to the VV, she came back with a cafe 35 clemence PHW birkin....which came home with me
. We also bought a couple of the classic belts and a bracelet I hope this helps those searching in Paris. Don't be discouraged, if you dont get the right SA at first, keep trying and be pleasant and the right SA can help you with your quest.

Good luck! It was nerve wracking but fun! Just keep trying! It helps to be flexible on your colors/leathers. I had decided I would take the VV but was happy when the cafe was offered! Have a great trip
Numb, I would love either a Kelly or Birkin as well! I would actually love both but am definitely not getting my hopes up! I have a black Chanel flap I use all of the time so I am not looking for a black bag. Hopiko, thanks again for your advice! I am actually trying to go in with a completely open mind as to the color and leather so I have better chances. Hopefully in 6 months (ahhh I don't want to wait that long!) I'll have some good news to report back!
