I don't like NM. Every time I go in there I feel like I'm ignored! I look very young and they probably don't think I'm there to spend any cash. I guess I have to wear my Burberry jacket and Chanel bag if I want to get noticed!!

DC cutie -- I disagree. If NM strictly enforced a customer service policy similar to Nordstrom, I seriously doubt their SA would dare act the way they do. I don't think there is a manager at every Nordstrom counter watching the SA's every move. They must have been trained to be so courteous and polite. It is hard to believe that every SA at Nordstrom is a very nice person; its what their job requires of them. And at NM they can probably get away with it while I dont think they can at Nordstrom which leads to me to believe that mngt DOES set a level of expectation that every SA working there must adhere to.

we can agree to disagree, that's the joy of communicating. NM and Nordstorm have very different customer service/relations policies - Nordstrom is known for bending over backwards for their customers, where NM is very strict and exclusive (you can see that in terms of the payment options they accept).

But the same thing still applies, not every Nordstrom customer receives the same customer service, that's apparent by reading a few of the threads about Nordstrom. In the same respect, not every NM customer is treated the same. Again, it's not the store is the employee.

In Dallas I find the opposite experience. I get very little attention in Nords here w/ the exception of the children's dept's for some reason. But at NM, every SA looks up and says hello or whatever and I never have trouble getting help from anyone. This is consistent here - every store.

I agree Swanky. Here in Charlotte, the people at Nordies were too busy to help, or thats the way they acted. One counter there was a lady working and she kept tidying up and never even asked me if I wanted to see anything or try anything or if she could help-- Just the opposite everytime I've ever been into NM. NM here in Charlotte is amazing, but maybe it's because it's a smaller store. I think it's one of their smallest ones.

I decided years ago to take my business to Saks. Every experience I have had in Neiman's has been a bad one. The SA's I have encountered have been rude and dismissive. I am speaking of the store in Mazza Gallery in DC. I have had the opposite experience at Saks up the street. They are very accommodating even when I'm just looking. Well once, a long time ago it was the woman at the LV counter, maybe she was and LV employee and not Neiman's......but still.

I have always gotten good service at NM with one notable exception. The Christian Dior makeup counter. They hardly ever have my mascara in stock. They offered to order it and sent me the wrong thing, so I had to take a trip to the store to return it. I complained in a customer survey and they called me and apologized. So a year later, the manager calls and asks if I took a survey and complained. I told her that was a year ago. She asked how things were going lately. I told her I don't shop at the Dior counter there anymore because they never have my stuff. So she said I could contact her to help me. That's a huge pain. Why would I do that? I just go to Bloomingdales. They always have it. Oh, and I told her that about two months ago, I stopped by her counter to ask for it yet again and as usual, they didn't have it. They said they would be happy to order it and call me when it comes in. You guessed it. I never got a call. I told her essentially that I had tried NM over and over again and I was done with them (at least for Dior).

I haven't had any problems with them yet but my mom has.

My mom stopped at NM to get some earrings that she needed to wear for an event that night. She went in there with scrubs on carrying a Chanel flap bag. By the way she wore flip flops because she just had her toes done. My mom got a glimpse on a Judith Leiber bag clutch. She asked the young man if it there is a strap that goes with it. The man answered her with a smirk laugh, "I'm sorry to say this but it will not go with the outfit you are wearing now." He walked away and helped the other lady next to her. Are you serious? It was a legitimate question. My mom was embarassed. I can't blame the store but it's the employee. It's sad to say that the employees are giving the company a bad rep.

i agree NM has terrible CS! I was just treated badly by a SA the other day, Its kinda a long story but she pretty much refused to look for a certain nail polish i was asking about and then I stood there waiting to see if she would check and she didnt move (all while looking down, not at me at all) I finally say "ok thanks" i walk away and glance back at her from behind her counter and she was on her phone, she was on her phone the entire time I was standing there waiting to be helped. I have purchased from this woman before and I was pretty upset after I left the store.

Bad cs, tend to send used items often . Recently my friend ordered a pair of Louboutins n it was used obviously n I got a used prada bag too, where the zipper was already rusty , n they don't have the same item for me anymore , n refused to order another one say they don't do dat :(

Im sorry yo hear that so many have issues with Neimans. The NM in Las Vegas takes Visa and MasterCard. I shop there all the time and never have a any issues. I will say that I had a bad customer service experience with Saks fifth Avenue and I will NEVER shop there again because of it!

Had such a bad experience at NM past couple days. Was looking for a Bal bag with smooshy, soft leather and I asked the SA if I could see several cuz the ones he was bringing out were all dry n stiff or damaged. Finally at the last one, i said, "oohh.. i really like this leather" and he was like, "yah, i think this is the one. u should buy it". I was inspecting the bag to see if it was ok since NM seems notorious for selling used items. However, he kept pressuring me to buy by commenting and saying stuff like, "all the bags look the same", "theres no difference", "stop inspecting the bag or you're going to find something else wrong with it", Etc. It was honestly quite annoying and I didn't appreciate the side commenting but felt pressured enough to just buy it thinking that the bag would be fine.

Fast forward to today and got a chance to thoroughly inspect and the leather is peeling in 4 spots!!! went back to exchange and just my luck... It's the same SA! it's too long to post, but here's several of the comments he made today:

"This young lady says that ALL the bags we have are damaged" (umm... Most of them were! And I never said that. I said MY bag was damaged, which it was)

"Are u SURE u want this bag?" (Implying that I don't want it and I'm just there to waste time?? Idk! Like y would I even b there if I didn't want the bag?!?!?!)

Grabs me new bag from downstairs which had loose thread, which he then cuts off and I was like, "I don't want this bag just in case the stitching comes undone in future" and he goes, "do you ALWAYS shop like this?" And I go, "ummmm.. Yah." (Thinking if its so crazy that I want a perfect, UNDAMAGED bag) and he goes, "oh. I'm SO sorry". Like, WTFFFF?!?!!!!!!!!

Idk y I'm having such bad luck w bags lately!!!! And to top it off... Just make me feel like I'm crazy person w unusually high expectations. All I want is a nice, soft NEW bag. Geesh!

Sorry.... Needed to vent. Lol
