I had my belly button pierced when I was 18, I'm 31 now and even if I have never exhibited it (no matter how slim I am or how much I exercise, never had flat stomach and at this point I think I'll never have!) I lllove it. It is a little bothersome to make it heal in the beginning, but then I totally forgot it. Now I hav a really tiny black titanium bar, and I don't even remember to have it most of the time. It was one of the less problematic piercings I have ever done. BTW I still love getting pierced, even if I am "old" for the game :p !

I think I went through a mid life crisis early I had mine done at age 30 and bought my first pair of hipsters at the same time. If you google body jewellery it will throw up some fantastic sites.

I had mine done in highschool and then took it out first year of university. That was a long time ago, but I regret having it done because it left a small mark (they pierce with a hallow needle, so it actually takes a portion of your skin out).

I had mine pierced 6 years ago with 2 other girls. And I LOVED it!! I didn't regret it for a second. But a year ago I had to take it out because I noticed it was growing out for some unknown reason (I never had any problems with it otherwise). The amount of skin between the 2 holes was becoming thinner and thinner so I figured it would be best to remove it before it accidently "tears" off. It happedn to someone I know and I was afraid. =P Overall it was a great experience, there is a bit of scarring but I dont really notice it. For me, the timing was great! I had it all through college and it started to grow out a year after I got out of college. Honestly, I do miss it but i feel that I'm passed the age to get it repierced and dont really have the occassion to wear bikinis and go to the beach anymore. If I had to choose again, I would DEFINITELY do it again.

With regards to pain and caring for it. It was a breeze for me. The amount of "pain" you feel REALLY depends on the person who does it for you. Must I stress the "REALLY" again. As I stated before 3 of us got it pierced. One girl and I had it pierced by the same guy, he was very experienced and did it free hand. It was just a pinch, much, much, much less painful than I expected. The 3rd girl had it pierced by someone inexperienced and it was painful for her. Caring for it wasn't bad at all for me. I just cleaned it carefully twice a day or so as instructed and I was fine. So was the 2nd girl. (But I did get a little worried the 3nd week or so because it became a bit swollen, dont worry its natural) The 3rd girl had to remove hers because it got terribly infected. She didnt clean it as instructed.

My advice to you is to go to someone whos good and dont be afraid to ask for a specific person. And make sure u clean it!!

I got mine when I was 14 and I LOVED it, but it started to migrate and after 6 years there was barely any more skin left for the ring to stay in so I took it out. Now I have this ugly scar! I 1/2 regret it. But I still want one!

I had mine done when I was 16. I'm 22 now, and still wear a little stud, but i regret it cause the hole never closes (yes i didn't wear anything in it for a year). But it's still cute, i don't have that 16 year old cheerleader body i used to have so I don't show "flaunt" it anymore, lol.

Just had mine pierced recently. I've been taking care of it every single day and night as instructed, and it's going great. How long should I wait before changing the ring?

I think about 6 weeks or so? I changed mine as soon as it stopped hurting because I did not like the ring it was pierced with. I put a slightly larger-gauge stainless spiral ring in and have pretty much kept the same one ever since. I have other jewelry but really I'm sort of bored with the whole thing now---I mean everyone has their navel pierced, it seems, it's just ho-hum anymore.

I got mine pierced early on in college, but I took it out because it got infected, and my body pretty much rejected it. I also used to have a few piercings in each ear, but now I just have one hole in each. I'm 24 now, so I just felt that it was time to narrow it down. Just my personal choice. My advice is to keep it as clean as possible. Just don't clean it too much, because that can lead to infection as well. That's what happened to me. I'm sure you've been told that already though :)

i got mine pierced in college. it hurt pretty badly afterwards, especially having to clean/turn it regularly. i don't really regret doing it, although now that i get closer to having children i'm kind of worried what will happen to it when i'm pregnant. eek. :crybaby:

I have never had my navel pierced, although I did try to do it myself in middle school (ew).
I'm kind of glad I didn't get it done. To be honest though I don't see many people with theirs done anymore.

I'm thinking about getting my navel peirced. I have my ears peirced twice, and after I get my navel peirced I think that's just the right amount of peircings. Enough to stil be naturally beautiful without earrings everywhere.
