Thank you so much for the idea of using acid free paper. I couldn't find it in the Container Store, but did find it on Amazon. LINECO - Unbuffered Acid-Free Tissue Paper, 30x40", Pack of 12.

After some Googling, it was recommended to use Unbuffered for silks and cashmeres. Hope this helps other TPFers who are looking to line their drawers.

That's so helpful!! Thank u werner! Getting on amazon and ordering right now!!

MYH, thank you so much for generously sharing your gorgeous, inspiring collection!!
I am looking forward to more of your posts.
You are inspiring me to wear some of my scarves. I collect them because I appreciate their designs but tend to become shy about actually wearing them.

Just to let you know you've got another avid reader who is curious to learn from (and share with) you. :snack::popcorn:

Thanks for joining us Nana! If you are eating caramel popcorn, I might ask you to pass your bucket. :D

i am traveling, but just found this thread. love it!
I have almost the same number of scarves, and have quite a few of the same designs, but amazingly not exact twins on any single scarf. You also have a few scarves on my Grail list...
Glad you highlighted de la mer au ciel first- that was a love at first sight scarf for me, but like PBP I have the blue green mauve CW.
Also, after about 20 scarves, I went to almost the same exact storage method as you! Bought an archive box with acid free paper from the container store( love that place), and slipped it into my dresser drawer.
Of course, I am a bit of a nerd, so I do have an excel file. the actual scarves do Move around in my drawer, maybe I am a semi- scarf slob, LOL.
At this point, I do have my 2 Xmas scarves stored in boxes, and also my mousselines and single CSGM.

Keep up this thread!
Thanks Scarf 1 - cheers to another scarf semi-slob! Yes, once a person collects over 20, it's just so hard to remember all of them and it was better for me to store them out in plain sight.

Waves to MYH. Just spotted this thread and thanks for the eye candies. You make any neutral haters fall in love. I spotted a Togo K nicely paired with your shoes. A new sister to your Gris T ? Love gold hardware bags.

Hello chkpfbeliever! Welcome back. The gold kelly 32 is not new. That was actually my first kelly bag. She just kind of took a back seat to Gris T. so you didn't see me carry her that often. I actually feel kind of guilty playing favorites so I do try to put her into rotation more often now.

I am cousins with you on this scarf except mine is a summer one with white background. I wish that I saw this colorway as this is perfect for fall on cloudy days, which we have a lot around here.
I think I know which one you have. That's also super pretty! Well, if I ever see my cw for sale, I will let you know.\
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. You have quite a collection and it must be nice to "play" with your scarves from time to time. You know, take out and drape over yourself and the furniture (that would be me.) I have a humble collection of about 15 scarves and have 13 of those framed and hung throughout my home. I have two, no three, that I wear from time to time. Here in Florida the weather is most times too hot, but I love looking and your collection is true "eye candy" Do enjoy and I will come by and check out the rest of your reveals. All the best to you.
Yes, Florida weather can be tough. Especially with the humidity. Have you tried 70cms or mousselines? I reach for those when I went to wear a scarf but it's too hot here.

Thank you so much for taking the time to produce this great thread. I am having the best time reading it and admiring your lovely scarves. I look forward to the next chapter!
You're welcome! Thank you for stopping by.

MyH the weight and volume are of course not an issue on the outbound flight but this was my luggage coming back last time. Not pictured: gigantic rolling suitcase and large box of my old clothes that I fedexed home to myself. Needless to say, don't try fibbing to customs while carrying a large orange bag. Im hoping to be more disciplined this time. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]View attachment 3161451
PbP - this cracked me up! Nothing wrong with letting loose in Paris especially when the Euro/Dollar exchange is so in our favor at the moment. I wish I could go with you on your next trip! I would happily stand in line with you at FSH and also hope to score something.

I am just loving this thread MYH!!! Ur scarf collection is TDF and ur stories r enthralling!! I can read this all day long!!! Thank u for sharing with us[emoji173]️[emoji173]️

Aww...thanks so much. I'll post something soon so please come back often.

MYH, thank you so much for generously sharing your gorgeous, inspiring collection!!
I am looking forward to more of your posts.

I was like you at first too. I used to think to myself - If I wear this scarf, will I bring too much attention to myself? Maybe start with designs and cws that are more subdued like B&W or neutrals before working yourself up to bold colors? Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet compliments.

Another example.

I pulled a few I consider daytime/casual scarves

And these are evening/dressy scarves
View attachment 3159622

I have to also say here that these categories depend a lot on where you live. In LA, I really do my best not to look overdressed because it's a casual town. If I lived in NYC, it would be a totally different story.

I LOVE the one with the stars!! Am I blind or is it folded differently in the first photo? I can't find it but I'd love to know the name!

To help MYH along in her storytelling, I'd like to toss out a few ideas for scarves to share next:

* Which scarf has the most sentimental value?
* Do you have a favorite artist, and if so, what draws you to that person's work?
* Which scarf makes you feel extra special? As a bonus, if you were to wear this scarf for a celebration, which clothes, shoes, and accessories would you pair with it?

Of course, please feel free to take or leave any of these suggestions. Hope this helps!

I love the contrast hems on both scarves and your matching jewelry. For your first scarf, I really like the second knot with the scarf ring as well as the last one with farandole necklace. Is it 120? Is that easier to wear with scarves than 160?

Both scarves match so well with your jewelry, gorgeous! In my attempt to analyze your strategy, do you buy the accessories like the bracelets with your scarf collection in mind, or is your color taste in jewelry similar to the scarves that they happen to match?

Moirai - the farandole necklace I have is neither a 120 or a 160. I didn't feel like I was tall enough to pull off either lengths, but the 80 was too short. So what I decided to do was to buy the 80 and also buy a farandole bracelet so that I could hook them together to make a 100 when I felt like it for the perfect length necklace, or break them apart and wear them separately as a necklace (in y shape) and a bracelet.

My taste in jewelry is kind of like my taste in bags. For nicer (not all of it fine) jewelry, I have a capsule collection that works with all occasions and with my scarves. I really didn't want to over buy because these pieces are kind of expensive and I wanted to only purchase exactly what I need. All the pieces are pretty neutral and go with anything I'm wearing, even scarves. I use the fashion jewelry from Hermes along with the scarves and handbags to add color and pop to my outfit. It's kind of like buying neutral color furniture and bringing color into the room with throw pillows, vases, artwork, and flowers. My thinking was to collect the following:

1. 10 motif VCA MOP Alhambra necklace - dressy necklace (gold) for spring/summer or lighter color outfits
2. 10 motif VCA Onyx Alhambra necklace - dressy necklace (gold) for fall/winter or darker color outfits
3. Byzantine VCA Necklace - short gold necklace to pair with casual outfits
4. Theo Fennell Bee and Pearl Long Necklace - long gold necklace to pair with casual outfits
5. Hermes farandole necklace 80cm + bracelet - dressy silver long necklace
6. Hermes confettis necklace - casual silver long necklace

Then earrings are kind of the same. They all pair with my necklaces
1. Diamond stud earrings in platinum- to match with silver jewelry - this is so universal. I really don't need to purchase any other silver earrings unless I see something I love. These studs work every time.
2. Pearl stud earrings
3. Dressy gold earrings - made by a local jewelry
4. Byzantine VCA earrings - casual gold earrings

Then rings that match my necklaces and earrings
1. Magic MOP VCA Alhambra ring
2. Pomellato blue topaz nudo ring
3. Pomellato prasiolite nudo ring
4. Amber and Onyx gold ring made by a local jewelry in Venice
5. Chain d'Ancre silver rings (I have 2 and often stack them for more impact)

The rest of my jewelry is all fun fashion jewelry, alot from Hermes. A rainbow of clic clacs, behapi bracelets, horn necklaces, etc.

I hope this explanation wasn't too long and difficult to follow. And I would post a pic of my collection, but I'm not quite comfortable doing that on an open forum.

Hmmmm.., this is so well thought out. You are right. These are large purchases, not scarves. I need to critically think through my choices before I start making my purchases. I have set jewelry as my priority in 2016. How did you get to be so organized? How tall did you say that you are? Petite as I recall.

Dhfwu - thanks for the suggestion! OK, I'll show my most sentimental one next. The reason this next one is sentimental is not because DH picked it out or because someone close to me bought it for me. I actually bought it for myself and it was love at first sight at the boutique. By now, my SA knew me pretty well but didn't actually think of showing it to me because she didn't think I would have any interest in the design. I only found it because I insisted one day on pawing through the drawers at the boutique on my own. I was at the point where my SA would just unlock the drawer, step aside and let me "have at it"! And even attend to other business if she had to. Yes, I was on a first name basis with all the SAs in the boutique and both the security guards. :shame: By now, I had already discovered the 140cms and loved them! So it wasn't like I was taking a leap with the larger size or anything. Also, for the record, I'm not an Astrological Sign person either. When people tell me they are a typical cancer or sagittarius, I kind of just look at them blankly because I have no idea what that means. I just like the design Astrologie Nouvelle because of the way it ties. Full disclosure, this is not the only one you are going to see. I also have another 140cm in another cw, a 90cm, a maxi-twilly, and would buy more if I saw a cw that captivated me. I love that the astrologie nouvelle scarves have designs that go all the way out to the hem and all mine have a contrast hem (except for the Maxi Twilly of course).

The reason it's sentimental to me is because I almost always pack it with me when I travel. It has been my trusty companion on many a business and pleasure trip and has seen the world with me. It has protected me from sun, wind, cold, snow, everything. It adds color to my outfits without shouting "look at me" and matches practically my entire wardrobe. It is so soft from use, dry cleaning, and washing that it almost feels like suede. I think you can see this in my photo with my grey sweater. I love how it feels around my neck and makes me feel safe and warm immediately. I actually even spilled red nail polish on it once (a fairly large amount on the white part near the hem), and thought - ok that's it. Game over with this scarf - $800 down the drain and that's the end of my lovely scarf. But this scarf has 9 lives. I took it to a local dry cleaner and ALL the nail polish came out without any damage to the scarf. I have washed it myself with the laundress soap probably 5 times and the colors are still vibrant and make my heart sing. When I'm not sure what scarf to pair with my outfit, I always reach for it. I  this scarf.

Ok, I'll start with my favorite. It was so hard to decide. I would say I have a top 5 that I cannot part with and I had to look at each one carefully just now. Funny enough, I did not have a "favorite" in my head until Mimi and Pocketbook Pup just asked me. So, here it is.

De La Mer Au Ciel

I just love the colors in this scarf. It has a lot of what I call Hermes "gold" in it, a caramel color that just makes me  Also, I really love navy and coral together and this scarf has both. I have taken a pic of it with my gold legende sandals and my gold kelly 32. I also piled on a bunch of bracelets I also wear with this scarf (not all together) that also coordinate with this scarf.

And this scarf has a feature I absolutely adore in scarves. An asymmetrical design. That means, you can tie a cowboy knot with the four corners and have a different looking scarf each time. That makes this scarf all the more versatile and valuable. In fact, my little sis loved this scarf so much, she bought one for herself too.

Here's a pic with my shoes, bag, and accessories. And another I took from the US H.com website because there's no way I can take a picture of the whole scarf any better than Hermes does.

I'm 5'5" PbP - and often wear shoes that add another 1 or 2". I'm not sure organization was my driving force lol. I just knew when I started buying nicer jewelry, I wanted them to be forever pieces but ones I also wore alot. I'm not one to buy something that I can only wear for a gala or charity dinner once a year. I think that's why I gravitated towards neutral jewelry because they match everything. And I started realizing, I like both silver and gold. So something in gold that's dressy and something in gold that's casual checks off that box. Then the same for silver and so on. And I always make sure if I add something new to my jewelry collex, it needs to match alot of what's already there.

Love the knots, the scarf, the thread, the story telling.
Thank you and keep on going!

I can see why! It ties gorgeously and looks like it goes with everything from jeans to a cocktail dress.

I gasped at the red nail polish. [emoji33]. I think you just took a year off my life. My worst predicament was balsamic vinaigrette; but you are right these babies have nine lives!
