MYH, I just love reading this thread, especially your entries about picking out your scarves and what was going through your head at that time. My thoughts are much more jumbled, shall we say, amd the second a scarf is put around my neck (and is deemed to be a good match with my coloring) I'm whipping out my credit card (and the rest is history)!!

Finally a benefit to freezing my butt off in New England in the winter, which is like 9 months of the year!

I think you should start with your favorite. I'm loving this already!

Oh yes! North easterners need double the amount of scarves as west coasters. So you should have about a hundred.
+1 on the need for many scarves here in the Northeast! Thank you for starting this great thread MYH!!

Ok, I'll start with my favorite. It was so hard to decide. I would say I have a top 5 that I cannot part with and I had to look at each one carefully just now. Funny enough, I did not have a "favorite" in my head until Mimi and Pocketbook Pup just asked me. So, here it is.

De La Mer Au Ciel

I just love the colors in this scarf. It has a lot of what I call Hermes "gold" in it, a caramel color that just makes me  Also, I really love navy and coral together and this scarf has both. I have taken a pic of it with my gold legende sandals and my gold kelly 32. I also piled on a bunch of bracelets I also wear with this scarf (not all together) that also coordinate with this scarf.

And this scarf has a feature I absolutely adore in scarves. An asymmetrical design. That means, you can tie a cowboy knot with the four corners and have a different looking scarf each time. That makes this scarf all the more versatile and valuable. In fact, my little sis loved this scarf so much, she bought one for herself too.

Here's a pic with my shoes, bag, and accessories. And another I took from the US H.com website because there's no way I can take a picture of the whole scarf any better than Hermes does.

Ok, now I want this design, in this exact CW!! This is going to be a very dangerous thread MYH!

Dear MYH, thank you for this amazing thread!:flowers: So exciting!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:I am loving your story telling and the great silky adventure you are taking us on! We share quite a few of the same designs and began our love of H silks about the same time, thus I am finding it great fun to read your personal stories and selection process! I am not sure if you remember, but I had once shared with you that I also had to re home my first scarf and it was a lesson learned...an experience so similar to your own! My second and third 90cms were also the Echec au Roi~love this design dearly! :hbeat: Here is to lots of great silky chats over coffee (espresso for me, please!) and cocktails too!

i am traveling, but just found this thread. love it!
I have almost the same number of scarves, and have quite a few of the same designs, but amazingly not exact twins on any single scarf. You also have a few scarves on my Grail list...
Glad you highlighted de la mer au ciel first- that was a love at first sight scarf for me, but like PBP I have the blue green mauve CW.
Also, after about 20 scarves, I went to almost the same exact storage method as you! Bought an archive box with acid free paper from the container store( love that place), and slipped it into my dresser drawer.
Of course, I am a bit of a nerd, so I do have an excel file. the actual scarves do Move around in my drawer, maybe I am a semi- scarf slob, LOL.
At this point, I do have my 2 Xmas scarves stored in boxes, and also my mousselines and single CSGM.

Keep up this thread!

Waves to MYH. Just spotted this thread and thanks for the eye candies. You make any neutral haters fall in love. I spotted a Togo K nicely paired with your shoes. A new sister to your Gris T ? Love gold hardware bags.

OK, let's move on to the 2nd H scarf I bought. I think after this, I'm going to skip around and not show scarves in chronological order. Because really, after my 3rd scarf, I have no idea which was my 4th. It all becomes a blur after #3 because I literally went off the deep end. Ok, back to the story. At this point, I was still a newbie. I just barely discovered purseforum and had no idea there were whole threads started by Uno each season that showed or described the scarves. This resource is priceless folks really. Because as a newbie, if you just walk up to the scarf counter and don't have an idea of what design you are looking for, it's totally overwhelming. I didn't even have in mind the color family I wanted. With an untrained eye, it's easy to buy a mistake (like what happened on my first visit).

Since we were living in Philly at the time and spending quite a few weekends up in NYC for fun. So about a month after I bought my first one, we were in NYC and I could not wait to hit the Madison Ave store. As soon as I walked in, I panicked. People everywhere, chaos, bored husbands, SAs rushing around, and a scarf counter with customers 4 people deep. I was not in Kansas anymore, well, more like King of Prussia. If any of you know or shop at that store, it is tiny. Usually empty, and the SAs there have plenty of time to unfurl each scarf and let me ponder and think about the pros and cons of it. But I refused to leave without a scarf. So I patiently waited my turn and finally, the line in front of me cleared and I could finally peer into the scarf case. Hmmm...still clueless. What did I want? What color family am I looking for? I didn't know and didn't have time to dawdle. There were more people in line behind me. So as I said, I'm drawn to geometric modern designs and I spied this scarf sitting all by itself (turns out it was the first to show up in the new season) and asked the SA to pull it out. It wasn't exactly love at first sight, but a strong like and I figured that was good enough. At this point, I was not as discerning as I am now with scarves. I liked the colors in it, the design, and with so much chaos, I asked her to box it up.

Now years later, I do really like this scarf. Because I kind of picked it on impulse, it does have a lemon yellow color in it that is not really my taste but I kind of like it for that reason. On the other hand, it has alot of grey and as you all will soon see, I love grey! Also, I can tie it so the strong teal and lemon yellow colors barely show and only the blue and gray shows. Or I can tie it and show all the colors. So really, it is very versatile. It's also a good year-round scarf and works both day and nighttime. So for an uneducated impulse buy, it worked out great.

And since I wear this scarf often with my Van Cleef 10 motif mother of pearl necklace, I decided to include it in my picture.

I am cousins with you on this scarf except mine is a summer one with white background. I wish that I saw this colorway as this is perfect for fall on cloudy days, which we have a lot around here.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. You have quite a collection and it must be nice to "play" with your scarves from time to time. You know, take out and drape over yourself and the furniture (that would be me.) I have a humble collection of about 15 scarves and have 13 of those framed and hung throughout my home. I have two, no three, that I wear from time to time. Here in Florida the weather is most times too hot, but I love looking and your collection is true "eye candy" Do enjoy and I will come by and check out the rest of your reveals. All the best to you.

Wow! I never would have guessed that this would look so good tied or be so versatile!

ha! Marie, I have $60 worth of those little travel bottles from the container store sitting out at the moment, trying to organize my products to be as compact and weightless as possible for my trip next week.
This one really does tie well. If I can ever find the navy blue/orange cw, I would probably get it. And I loved your comment about trying to be weightless! Hilarious.

Neat!

I've always looked at this design and thought "hmmmmmm...." ( my son is a chess player). It's great to see it tied, very nice!

I have to say that that Madison Ave. experience sounds like a nightmare. What I loved most about my one foray into an Hermes boutique (for myself) thanks to Pocketbook Pup and thegriswolds was how we could leisurely look at how ever many scarves we wanted, set aside the ones we were thinking about, come back to them, change our minds, come back again, pull from the scarf selection at will. The patience of our SA was readily rewarded! It was just so delightful to chat to her about the designs, and the colors and what we knew and what she knew.

I'm also with you on losing track after the first two! I know the "early" ones from the "late" ones, but that's about it!

Keep em coming MYH!
Pirula - if your son is a chess player, then this is a must! You can wear it to his chess tournaments. And to be fair to Madison, it's not always a mad house. I think I went right after Christmas when everyone was trying to exchange their presents. Of course, with Hermes refund/exchange policy, that's the first place everyone goes after gifts are opened.

We're TWINS on this exact Echec Au Roi 90cm... my one regret is that I WISHED I gotten the GM as well... sigh!! .. I LOVE this!
Love being twins with you! Let's see how you wear yours? Please post and share here on this thread. And I could not resist and CSGM, so I got one of those too.

Unusual CW of De la Mer, and so lovely on you! The navy and caramel together are yummy.

Also: GREAT THREAD!!

This is a great scarf -- I love the different edges of this design -- and really awesome colors (grey and teal are high on my list of faves). Why don't I have this scarf yet? Hm....

I'm a slob too. All my 90s are in one big drawer (vaguely separated by light or dark), and other sizes are in another drawer. Really wintry/holiday scarves are somewhere else. Right now I forget where!!

Momasaurus - thanks for making me feel less bad about being a scarf slob. And yes, viewing other people's scarves is a dangerous pastime. I also think to myself, why don't I have this one in my collection when I see it on others here. But with Echec, the edges are fabulous. Each edge is a different color, the design goes right out to the edge, and their is a contrast hem. Tripe win.

MyH the weight and volume are of course not an issue on the outbound flight but this was my luggage coming back last time. Not pictured: gigantic rolling suitcase and large box of my old clothes that I fedexed home to myself. Needless to say, don't try fibbing to customs while carrying a large orange bag. Im hoping to be more disciplined this time. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]ImageUploadedByPurseForum1445209090.893296.jpg

Who hooo[emoji322]. Looks like a good trip! [emoji12]

MYH, thank you for starting this thread and sharing your story. For someone who's not good at writing, I feel as if I'm at the store with you behind all those people at the scarf counter. I'll come back to visit this thread again and again just so I can take this journey along with you. :D

I must confess though that I'm not a scarfie, or so I thought. Scarves happened to be the first items I ever bought from H for a few years before branching off into bags. I love reading about how you chose your first two and can't wait to read about the rest, especially since there's no rhyme or reason to how I picked mine other than I liked a design and color composition. I think I viewed the scarves more like paintings but I'm slowly learning more and more that may be it's not the most sensible approach as some of my scarves don't look good tied or more like don't look good tied on me.

After reading this thread I went to count how many scarves I have. Not nearly as many as you I'm afraid, but oivay, I have 24. Yikes, I didn't realize I own anything close to that! 6 of which have not even been worn yet and only 1 of these 6 is from this season. So I'm now hoping that through your story and others' contribution I may be a little bit more informed about how to go about choosing my next scarf or even to edit my collection. BTW, I only discovered Uno's upcoming seasonal scarf thread just over a year ago--so helpful!

I also want to mention that I like the way you store your scarves. I keep mine in their boxes but it makes it hard to pick out which one to wear in the morning especially I'm a just in time kind of person. May be I'll wear my scarves more if they're easily accessible. I even tried to label my boxes but it's not getting me to use the scarves any more than before, which is not much.

So please keep on sharing your story. :Dhttp://forum.purseblog.com//www.pinterest.com/pin/create/extension/

Fabfashion - 24 is alot for "not" being a scarfie! Thanks for following along and for your nice compliments on my writing. Yes, please use your scarves more and show us how you wear them on this thread. Are we twins on any?

Papertiger, You took the words right out of my head: "I am soooo enjoying this thread. Not enough threads are devoted to non-bag things and this is the best scarf one so far for me because you give insight into your MO which I find very interesting". This is the first thread I go to in the evening now, because it is so informative, enthralling really. Thank you, MYH, for giving us such pleasure each day. It's an incredible trove of informative enjoyment.
Thanks werner! Love having you here. Please stop by often. I will try to do a scarf every couple of days.

Oooh, I love Echec au Roi! You look fantastic in the scarf. The design is so unique, and the way it looks when you’ve tied it makes me think, “This is why H scarves are worth buying. No one else can do what they do.” The other brand that makes me think that way is Diane von Furstenberg.

Alas, this design was released before I started looking at H scarves (fall 2014), and the only remaining CWs on the H website at the time were unflattering. When I found a picture in the spring 2013 thread of someone modeling EaR in a red, white, and black CW, I swooned and also sighed at realizing the consequences to being late to the H party. :p Oh well, at least there will be others.
There's always a pre-loved route! And I think I have that red, black, and white one lol.

MYH, I just love reading this thread, especially your entries about picking out your scarves and what was going through your head at that time. HClubFan, Bova, and Vitamina H - thank you for your sweet words and for participating in this thread. Vitamina - yes, I remember. We both had to rehome our first. A bit bittersweet eh? Please post your echecs and how you wear it. Would love to see you model yours.
