Fantastic- looking forward to seeing your collection in depth and reading your personal experience of collecting.

Thank you so much for the idea of using acid free paper. I couldn't find it in the Container Store, but did find it on Amazon. LINECO - Unbuffered Acid-Free Tissue Paper, 30x40", Pack of 12.
After some Googling, it was recommended to use Unbuffered for silks and cashmeres. Hope this helps other TPFers who are looking to line their drawers.

You have great taste and a magnificent collection!

Dear MYH, thank you so much for taking time to show us your beautiful scarf collection. As much as I love to see pictures of your little silky treasures, I love reading the stories behind them! Looking forward to meet all of them :graucho:

MYH, I so happy to see your collection!! I like your explaination of de la mer, I have different cw, and I never thought about caramel, gold cw. With your collection, I can see all different cw for different purposes. I can't wait for your post everyday to read!!!! Great post, MYT. Love it!!

Wow, what an amazing scarf collection. You are a natural storyteller because this is so interesting to read. I like that you showcase the scarf with your bags and accessories, plus the mod shots. Looking forward to more...

Hi everyone! thanks for stopping by and for letting me know you are enjoying the thread. I'll probably need to be re-energized along the way to get to the end! But seriously, every scarf has a story and I think I remember them all. As long as you all like hearing them, I will keep sharing them.

Werner - great resource for getting the unbuffered acid-free tissue paper. I guess container store no longer sells them?

Thank you sooo much for starting this. I am not really a scarf collector but I am going to savor this thread and read it and revisit it when I have more leisure time. Looking forward to this!

MYH - thank you so much for posting your amazing collection & showing how you are wearing them. I'll be learning a lot for you.
I'm flattered. Please check back often!

I am soooo enjoying this thread. Not enough threads are devoted to non-bag things and this is the best scarf one so far for me because you give insight into your MO which I find very interesting :yahoo:

Interesting to see how many scarves we have in common (bolded, twins on the DD Mawari) :ghi5: and how are collections differ. You also have about 10 scarves that could have bought if I hadn't of already purchased so many in the season - I still think about photo finish and in the cw.

I shall be back to read more
Great scarf minds think alike. Yes, I love hearing other silk lovers reasons for picking their scarves as well. Please join in with any of your own and your rationale if one we both own comes up!

Fantastic thread ! Thanks for sharing MYH!

This is gorgeous ! I especially love the last tie, where u match with the farandol necklace ! I've been showing DH and our 3 DDs how gorgeous your fave scarf is!

I can't remember names and color ways so I'm not sure if any of my small collection is amongst your amazing collection. Can't wait to find out.

Thanks for your generous sharing MYH [emoji106]
Aw! thanks for your sweet compliment about my farandole necklace and favorite scarf.

Can't wait to hear about this one. There'll be a good lesson here.
Ha, lessons galore in this thread. Stay tuned.

Thanks for sharing your collection, MYH! You are a wonderful, thoughtful writer, and you tell stories beautifully. I always enjoy your posts and pictures.

A while ago, I stumbled upon TangoTosca's Scarf Circus thread while researching a design, and it seems her kind of sharing has mostly fallen by the wayside. It looks like you (and possibly Pocketbook Pup, Pirula, klynneann, and rainneday - I was lurking on rainneday's other thread) may be taking the reigns again. Thank you very much - it's very generous of you to do so!
oh yes, Tango Tosca's scarf circus. I read that one too! I wish she would come back to the Hermes subforum and hang out with us. And thanks for your compliment about my writing. I'm a total rambler. :D

MYM love your analysis of your scarf collection. You have a great way of story telling so I'm really looking forward to hearing about your scarves in more detail.

You have a great well rounded collection and we are twinsies on a several designs so I am eager to hear more if your opinions & pointbof view.

Awesome thread

Exactly! Nothing like a CSGM on a cold day to help keep you warm :smile1:

Wow, thank you so much for starting this thread! I've really enjoyed reading your posts in the Scarf of the Day thread and all the Uno season teasers. You have such a beautiful collection and I'm looking forward to reading the stories behind the purchases.

Thank you for this thread, MYH. :flowers:

You have a great collection!!

Loving your thread MYH
Still so much to look forward to , your second scarf up next ….can't wait !

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I would never have been so brave to start this had it not been at the urging of Pocketbook Pup, Pirula, Klynneann, Greengoddess8, and Rainneday.
And Marietouchet - we are honored to have you join us! :worthy::worthy::worthy:

Some thoughts on the de la mer since I have it in a different colorway. It's a great scarf. One I constantly wear in the summer.

If I am going to bias fold it I generally do it in just the direction you show. Doing it the opposite way doesn't work as well because there is too much contrast on the two sides (less with mine than yours). If you triangle fold it you can definitely use three of the four corners. I find the fourth a bit challenging because depending on how you wear it you see upside down birds. In yours it is the coral corner. I would love to be able to use more of that coral. Have you been able to find a way to wear it to play up the coral?

Here is my blue vert mauve. Just for comparison. It is a more seasonal summer scarf than your colorway and I think reads more casual, whereas your colorway can go casual or dressy and seems more year round.

If you want us to hold off on comparisons until you finish let us know. I just thought the comparison would be interesting. But I don't want to interrupt your show.

MyH kindly offered to go through her collection first. I might nominate you to go next hermesnutty. I know you have some beauties that I love.

Yes, your cw is the perfect example of spring/summer colors. I used to live in the Philly area and would probably not have worn this one very much in the winter. Your cw was also a contender but in the end I felt the one I picked worked better for me.

PbP - please, please join in on the fun! And that goes for everybody. If you have a scarf in the same design or cw, please post and tell us why you chose it. The more the merrier. I would love for this to be an interactive thread so it feels like we are all having a conversation over coffee or cocktails (your choice ).

Yes, on the bias fold, I always do it that way. As I said before, I'm not really a pink gal and alot of pink shows if I fold it the other way. And as you rightly said, the two ends being so asymmetrical in design makes it kind of lopsided when tied in a bias. As for the birds, funny thing, it doesn't bother me much if they are upside down. Funny you pointed that out. But really, I don't wear it using that corner when tying a cowboy knot because it's too much pink. As for your coral, well, on the bias fold, there is a big coral plant that shows up well on mine. For yours, I think it should also work, especially if you wear the scarf as a necklace. The other option would be the asymmetrical cowboy knot. You know, the one where you fold the scarf in half, pick up opposite corners(so you have two triangles) and tie the ends together? That might make all the coral show up better? Sorry if I have not been very helpful.

One last thing PbP - you are not getting off that easily! That was so slick of you to nominate Hermesnutty. I think you should be next. Hahaha.

Who knows? You might catch the silk bug here. It's definitely contagious and is an airborne virus. It can also be transmitted through the internet.

Perhaps one cashmere shawl for every cold day we have?! You on board with that plan, pursecrzy?!;)
Really - living in the Philadelphia area for 10 years is what started this madness. I was so cold all the time and thought I might as well have something luxurious tied around my neck if I'm going to freeze my butt off.:roflmfao:

Love this thread MYH. Keep going! So how do you feel about having spring/ summer and fall/winter versions of the same design? [emoji12]
Now you're thinking my way! Yes, if you really love a design, then get cws to suit all seasons.

OK, let's move on to the 2nd H scarf I bought. I think after this, I'm going to skip around and not show scarves in chronological order. Because really, after my 3rd scarf, I have no idea which was my 4th. It all becomes a blur after #3 because I literally went off the deep end. Ok, back to the story. At this point, I was still a newbie. I just barely discovered purseforum and had no idea there were whole threads started by Uno each season that showed or described the scarves. This resource is priceless folks really. Because as a newbie, if you just walk up to the scarf counter and don't have an idea of what design you are looking for, it's totally overwhelming. I didn't even have in mind the color family I wanted. With an untrained eye, it's easy to buy a mistake (like what happened on my first visit).

Since we were living in Philly at the time and spending quite a few weekends up in NYC for fun. So about a month after I bought my first one, we were in NYC and I could not wait to hit the Madison Ave store. As soon as I walked in, I panicked. People everywhere, chaos, bored husbands, SAs rushing around, and a scarf counter with customers 4 people deep. I was not in Kansas anymore, well, more like King of Prussia. If any of you know or shop at that store, it is tiny. Usually empty, and the SAs there have plenty of time to unfurl each scarf and let me ponder and think about the pros and cons of it. But I refused to leave without a scarf. So I patiently waited my turn and finally, the line in front of me cleared and I could finally peer into the scarf case. Hmmm...still clueless. What did I want? What color family am I looking for? I didn't know and didn't have time to dawdle. There were more people in line behind me. So as I said, I'm drawn to geometric modern designs and I spied this scarf sitting all by itself (turns out it was the first to show up in the new season) and asked the SA to pull it out. It wasn't exactly love at first sight, but a strong like and I figured that was good enough. At this point, I was not as discerning as I am now with scarves. I liked the colors in it, the design, and with so much chaos, I asked her to box it up.

Now years later, I do really like this scarf. Because I kind of picked it on impulse, it does have a lemon yellow color in it that is not really my taste but I kind of like it for that reason. On the other hand, it has alot of grey and as you all will soon see, I love grey! Also, I can tie it so the strong teal and lemon yellow colors barely show and only the blue and gray shows. Or I can tie it and show all the colors. So really, it is very versatile. It's also a good year-round scarf and works both day and nighttime. So for an uneducated impulse buy, it worked out great.

And since I wear this scarf often with my Van Cleef 10 motif mother of pearl necklace, I decided to include it in my picture.
